Chapter 7 – The Third Evolution.

(Hm… Those rabbits taste way better than those ants.)

(But they do give me less amount of EXP.)

(Oh. It evolved?)

(Well, this must be because I'm eating in order to recover. This bloody thing only leveled up after I got injured. Specifically, when I lost my fuking arm again and again!)

(Honestly I'm glad that the skill evolved, but I can probably guess that it didn't suddenly become something extremely powerful.)

(I couldn't tell any difference at all in recovery rate even when the skill level got changed, so I guess the flesh muncher must have been a bottom tier skills after all.)

(Well, maybe I level it up and evolve it over and over, maybe it will then be somewhat useful and maybe I won't have literally wait days for my hand to regrow.)

(Anyway, arm is still gone and will probably take days for me to regrow it.)

(But those rabbits monsters aren't that big of a danger, so I should be able to continue hunting even with arm missing, it will also allow me to regrow my arm faster that way since I would eat.)

(However, should I really stay in this place?)

(I saw a freaking humans here that looked like some sort of adventures.)

(Won't staying here be too dangerous?)

(I definitely won't be able to outrun them and the leaf attack will have 0 effect against them. My leaf attack only use is a distraction and blocking the view, but it only works on the creatures that are around the same size as me.)

(Against the wolf that was much bigger compare to the tiny me, the leaf attack had ZERO effect at all.)

(But… Fuck. Should I leave now?)

(This rabbits are "Animals" and by killing and eating "Animals" I unlocked for me an ability to evolve into the plant animal back then.)

(If I were to kill and eat animals again, would I unlock another special evolution?)

(But staying in here is too dangerous, since I don't know if I will run into more of these adventures.)

(Fuck this. I know this a stupid idea, but let's hunt as many rabbits as I can.)

(I'm so close to reaching level 100.)

(However, rabbits give less EXP compare to the ants, so I have to hunt a lot and I'm pretty sure I killed all of the rabbits that were hanging around this spot.)

(But I don't know where to go. Is this place a territory of those horned rabbits?)

(Or were these rabbits just a wondering monster?)

(Well, I also have to be extremely careful while moving around, since I don't want to either encounter humans or another wolf or anything that can fuck me over in an instant.)

(Right now, it's night time. There is a good chance that these adventures already left the forest or something, but I can't be too sure about that.)

(On top of that, what if there are some sort of dangerous monsters that are nocturnal?)

(Well, I have no option but to risk it, since I don't know if I were not to run into more humans during the day.)

I've began walking around the forest, trying to find more of those rabbits.

I did found some, a something weird and interesting?

Slimes. More specifically a lime colored slime.

Slimes are also one of the iconic isekai monsters. Sometimes they appear like a ball while sometimes they paper like an ooze.

The slimes I encounter look like the ooze ones and they have what to appears to be a cores inside of their body.

I tried fighting them and killed them rather easily. However, the problem is that their body seem to have acid inside of them, but not that powerful one. However, if I expose myself too long to it, the damage will probably not be pleasant.

I manage to kill the slime by using a small rock as the weapon to crack its core, my claves didn't do any proper damage so I had no choice but to use rock back then.

As soon as the core was destroyed, the slime fluid like body began to dissolve.

Anyway, I thought that the slime core would be gem like, but it was half gem like and half organic? By the look of things this thing is some sort of mix between a crystal and organs?

Anyway, I tried eating it and it didn't tasted like anything, but the slime did at least gave me some EXP. Not as much as the rabbits or ants, but way more compare to the mices.

However, the problem with the slimes is their acid. I don't have any means of getting rid of it so I'm using a corpse of the rabbit monster to get rid of the acid. I pretty much use them as a towel and their blood to wash away the acid.

But the acid is still annoying like hell so until I have any other means of getting rid of the acid, I will have to completely ignore the slimes for now.

However, slimes and rabbits were not only creatures present.

There were also a weird crow like monsters with yellow eyes.

This thing usually ignored me, but as soon as I began eating the rabbit corpse, they launched an attack at me.

It did took me by surprise first and second time, but I got used to them attacking me.

This thing don't seem very smart unlike the regular crows and just rush at me each time they see me eating.

When I spot one of these crows, I just pretend to eat and when they make a move, I just swing my arm around and easily hit them.

I can easily kill them now, but they don't give much flesh nor EXP.

On top of that, sometimes they are sticking in the groups and that kind of makes fighting them bit more annoying. So, I try in areas where there is not lot of them present.

Anyway, I hunted through the entire nigh, hunting as many of those rabbits as I could and before long, the sun began rising.

(Fuck. I'm so freaking tired…)

(How many of those bloody rabbits did I hunt again?)

(And those crows?)

(Well, I stopped countering long time ago.)

(Anyway, I fuking did it.)

(Fuck me… I fuking did it. But I'm so fuking tired…)

(I need to find a safe spot where I can rest and evolve in peace.)

I've began trying to look around for safe spot.

I tried hiding in one of the rabbit holes sine I was small enough to hide in them, but then I realized that there is a good chance that I will grow again.

In the end, I don't know how long I walked around while being completely tired, but I manage to find a lake and the waterfall in the forest.

There was a spot behind the waterfall and it seemed relatively safe and big enough for about 5 plant animals to hide.

I was too tired after finding that spot and didn't had strength to move anymore, so I decided to hide here.

(Okay… I don't know if this place will do or not, but it's not like I have option.)

(Now, it's time to evolve!)

(But… Why there are two plant beasts???)

(I can feel… It's just like the last time, it's a special evolution.)

(Plant beast and wild plant beast? The only difference is "Wild" part.)

(So how does that work? Is this something like a different variant?)

(Hm…. Well, last time the nonstandard evolution turned out to be stronger, so by that logic, the variant evolution should also be stronger, right?)

(There must be a reason why it has "Wild" part in it. Maybe it's something like a rare variant or something? Or maybe my hunting beast type animals end up unlocking it, just like plant animal?)

(Hm… Okay.)

(So, let's do it. Let's go with wild plant beast. Maybe I will understand bit more if I pick and maybe it is really stronger than regular plant beast.)

Once again, after choosing to evolve I ended up losing my strength and fallen into a deep sleep.

I don't know how much time passed, but I was suddenly woken up by a freaking water falling on my face.

"?!"

(Fuck!)

(Oh. The evolution!)

 The plant monster stood up on its two feet and began observing the changes.

(Nice! I got my arm back! Was this thanks to the evolution? Either way, I won't have to spend days again trying to recover it again.)

As soon as I woke up, I quickly left my hiding spot and headed to the lake in order to see my reflection.

My appearance seem to have changed a lot.

First of all, I grown in size.

I'm at least now tall as two plant animals.

However, by the look of things I'm still a round ball thing.

My eyes got bit bigger and the leaves that were covering my entire body changed color from bright green to normal green color.

But now I have some sort of tail vine sticking out from my behind? I think it's some sort of tail or something? I can hide it in my leaves but I'm wondering if I can use this thing as a weapon or something.

Anyway, my limbs got noticeable bigger and thicker, they are no longer a freaking twigs. Well, they are still not as big or thick as the human arm, but it still better since it probably won't be FUKING ripped off, cut off or something AGAIN.

Also, I have now four fingers in each hand and 4 toes.

After I was done inspecting my body, I walked to the nearby tree and slashes it with my claws and leaving the mark on the tree.

(Nice! These claws are finally somewhat useful.)

(Anyway, lets what other things changed.)

(Oh. My skills got a huge level increase and not only that, [Weed Bite] evolved into [Plant Bite] as well as the [Root Claw] had become [Plant Claw] and I even got 3 new skills!)

(The [Plant Bite] seem to be just better version [Weed Bite]. The same goes to the [Plant Claw]. It seems to be also just a stronger version of the original.)

(As for the new skills… [Bite] is a skill with passive skill that increase the power of my bites. Pretty much it's a [Weed Bite] but much weaker and it doesn't gives the inching effect.)

(Well, it's still not bad since now my bites would be just a little bit more powerful.)

(Next, [Surprise Attack].)

(Attacking an enemy that doesn't know about your presence will result in damage increase.)

(Huh. Seems pretty good. I got to test it out and see how powerful this skills is before I try anything funny.)

(Lastly, [Grass Skeleton].)

(It seems to be a defensive skill that increase the defense of my main body?)

(…Em… What is categorized as my main body?)

(The round part of my body? Or does leaves that covers my body counts as part of my main body? How does that work?)

(However for now, it's time to hunt! I'm freaking starving right now!)
