The Year of X

It's the last day of school, May 27, 2022. A nice Friday in Seattle. The students of Garfield High School are enjoying themselves and celebrating with their friends. Nothing can go wrong. Or can it? Just when the bell rings and everyone is rushing down the stairs to go home, the worst thing imaginable happens. Aluminum, humanoid creatures intrude the building and block the exits. With the miniguns they have for a left arm. They blast everyone and everything on their sight. Three star football players, Wide Receiver Jacques Cartier, Running Back Jesse Carter, and Tight End Leonardo Esposito try their best to survive and gather survivors against the hordes of robotic weapons known as Steelmen.

Prologue

My name is Jacques, Jacques Cartier yeah, like the French explorer and captain of the sea. But that's irrelevant. You see, the whole school year has been nothing but a dream. I'm a junior and the wide receiver on the Garfield Bulldogs, my football team, and I led us to a winning season. I became popular with my friends, Jesse Carter and Leo Esposito. I'm about to finish the school year with an AB Honor. I have a cute, perfect girlfriend who I love very much. It's the last day of school and I'm planning an exciting summer with my friends and my girlfriend. Nothing can go wrong, right?
