[Soul of Heaven and Hell]

Two week after the awakening...

Tezariah has been reading and watching a lot of references from this world. He particularly watched a lot of something called anime and read a lot of books they call manga. In a sense, a lot of ideas came into his mind within the past two weeks. All he needed was practice, and nitpicking the most viable ones.

During this past week or so, Mikasa had been glancing at Tezariah every once in a while. Sometimes even coming close and was about to say something but seem to hold it back. From this gestures, Tezariah had an idea of it might be the cause but until she could gain the confidence to say it herself, he would not do anything.

Finally yesterday she managed to steel herself and say it. Tezariah agreed but under the premise that he would only guide her path, not make it. This meant that she had to learn her own magic like Tezariah and Tezariah would only give her answer and ideas when she was confused in their making. From this, one could say that Tezariah was showing her a path that was totally different from the Elven way. She accepted his conditions albeit a bit nervous and sad. She thought she could learn magic in a standard way but either way, this was better than nothing.

Tezariah first checked the magic aura emanating from Mikasa which was a bit stronger from two weeks. It had impurities though and was prone to being chaotic. The main problem was it was unrefined and thus majority of the absorbed magic was wasted and that which is absorbed was not pure. Tezariah decided to impart the technique he's been using to refine the mana of this world. After all, the purity of one's mana was a wizard's greatest asset. No matter how many spells and divine abilities you had, mana was vital.

One could say that if the body was the vessel, then mana was the water that fills it. The soul is flavor added into it making it a tea, coffee or a juice. Thus these three together creates the uniqueness of every living creature. Thus if one was to have impure mana, then the water that fills it can be compared to muddy water. This alone makes the "flavor" of the soul bad and causes damages overtime to the "vessel" which is the body. The more pure the mana, the more one can draw from their soul releasing it's unique power. It was safe to say a being's strength is equivalent to how large the vessel is, how much water is on the vessel and its purity, and how much flavor the soul has.

...

Mikasa was surprised at this and excitedly studied the technique. She sat down immediately and began breathing according to the technique. Tezariah began to observe her, pointing out her mistakes which she changed.

Over time, her proficiency increased, now Tezariah was just watching. Unknown to him, he became immersed watching her. Slowly, from the back of his mind, an idea for a spell which was still in progress was taking shape into completion. By the time Tezariah woke up, it was evening. His eyes bulges in surprise and the 5th spell was finally completed. Tezariah shook his head and smiled. It seems inspiration does come from spontaneous and random things. If it weren't for a meditating Mikasa, he would laugh right now.

He exited the room and went to the garden. Luckily everyone left to go to the mall. He began to breath rhythmically. The rhythm of the breath soon followed a flow of mana. It left his body and slowly enveloped half a meter around him. He opened his eyes and changes started to appear. His blue-green eyes has changed to a dark red on the left and a pure silver white on the right. Although his silver hair has not changed much, a noticeable dark red tinges could be seen. His aura was both holy and demonic melding together in one harmonic flow. A miracle considering their contrasting attributes.

He decided to target a small shrub. Pointing at it a small beam of white and red pierces the shrub and the wall behind Nearly hitting a person. Luckily he dispersed it immediately.

Looking at the shrub, one could see both a holy flame and demonic flame burning the areas they hit respectively. The purification of the holy flame burned the shrub removing the impurities it had. That side became vibrant with life after the fire died out. On the other side, the demonic flame burned its part with the power of annihilation and ruination. Its side burned to nothingness. Luckily the holy flame kept it in check which only burned its side. Small patches of ground and another shrub was involved and they also burned to nothingness. Tezariah dispersed the demonic flame.

Tezariah theorized that he could maintain this form for at least 10 minutes with his current mana pool and the amount his soul can burden. He named the spell [Soul of Heaven and Hell]. Some people would say it was a not-so-bad spell but this was a transformation spell. This meant that his other spells would have a pure holy attribute or a pure demonic attribute. This would make him lethal to creatures which boast a strong elemental resistance. After all unlike elemental magic, holy and demonic magic draws from the primordial mana, a type of mana known but very few races can feel. Along with time, space, reality and spirit magic, these six form the pedestal greater forms of magic.

And thus Tezariah found himself happy. He can finally relax a bit as he has achieved his desired flexibility. But it didn't mean he would stop, he must grow stronger. He had a weird premonition of what the old man from the void told him before he was sent to this place.
