Mary was silently crying. Jennifer tenderly hugged her and the latter started wailing. After about half an hour the atmosphere in the dining room returned to it's normal form.
"Why didn't you tell me earlier? I would have attended his funeral." Mary asked Jennifer in an accusing tone.
"I...he had asked me not to let you know when he would die, as your body is still weak." Jennifer lied without batting an eye.
"He...Anyways bring me to him." Mary was determined on visiting Felix.
"I will take you there tomorrow" Jennifer sighed. She had expected this to happen. Mary would never take no for this. She was a little worried about taking her mother to that house.
They both ate their dinner silently. Jennifer went straight to her room and locked the door.
"Hello George, where were you when Felix died?" Jennifer was sad with the death of her sworn brother, she almost forgot to ask someone about how he died. She first did not have any suspicion about his death; so she did not ask about it. But after careful thinking about the events which had happened today as well as in the past, she needed to know how he died. Hence Jennifer called George to ask him.
"I was in a shop purchasing things that my mother wanted. When I was going to pay the bill, the alarm sounded. So I immediately made my way to the house. It nearly took me 15 minutes to reach there. When I went inside, I saw corpses lying on the floor. Then I heard someone shout, I made my way to the second floor only to see Felix covered in blood, speaking with a man and then the man stabbing him in his chest. Without wasting time I hit the man to make him loose consciousness. It was too late because Felix died immediately after I went to check on him."
"Did something unusual happened when you went in that room, or heard them both conversing?" Jennifer had a hunch that something must have happened between the two of them and she just needed a clue to make everything clear.
"He was cursing the man." After giving a lot of thought George remembered Felix cursing the man before he died.
"Did you hear what he said?"
"He said...mm..he said something like you are the same and never have changed ba*tered and many more things. I think he had cursed them as they tried to assassinate you in the past too."
"How did the man react on hearing that?"
"He just stood there like a statue and closed his eyes before spouting 'good bye' then stabbing Felix in his chest. The man truly was very cruel to stab Felix in his heart. Poor Felix was truly shocked by the man's action. When I made the man loose his consciousness Felix cried out 'no!' and then he....lay there motionless."
When Jennifer heard George discribing the conversation between the two of them she was now sure about the doubts she was having earlier on.
She took a deep breath, "I am hanging up now." Without waiting for other person's reply she cut the call.
"This is clearly not simple as it looks." Jennifer decided to visit the house tomorrow morning. Just then she got a call from Ava, "What are you doing Alissa?"
"Nothing much, I was just going to sleep. Why did you call?"
"Are you free tomorrow evening? I want to take you to a party. I hope you will come pretty please.." Jennifer imagined Ava fluttering her eyelashes and pleading her to come to the party. She sighed, "At what time is the party?"
"7 in the evening."
"Okay then I would be coming. Let me know the venue and dress code."
"I will message you the details then. Bye bye...love you a lot girl. Muah~~ good night."
"Good night Ava."
