Under Arrest

Natalie's POV

The giant doors swiftly burst open, ushering in an intimidating number of policemen dressed smartly in a particular uniform, they moved hastily, sweeping the floors of the party with a thudding steps, they weren't alone, behind them tailed immense number of reporters from different channels flashing cameras around.

The whole place went silent, the vibrant music that lit the air was quietened, the once vivaciois party was now more quiet than the graveyard.

Low whispers begun to arise. Everyone was perplexed and very much interested in the reason the place was horde with cops.

A tough looking male figure accompanied by a slender tall man stepped forward, one could tell by mere looking that they were the ones in charge. They halted at the center as the senator Rick approached them.

"Charles O'Brian,DEA" The tough looking man flashed his badge, moving closer, bridging the wide distance between them. "And this is Joe Roberts,he's with the CBI." O'Brian pointed at the tall slender man. "Sorry for the intrusion but we are here for an official purpose"

The faint whispers disappeared and now everyone was much interested in what the cops was doing in a place filled with elite and respectable figures. Surely there wasn't any delinquent present.

I threw a look at Dave from the corner of my eyes, watching the same confounded gaze which everyone held plastered on his face.

I repressed the dying urge to burst out and laugh.

"How can I be of help to you?" The Senator spoke, his boisterous voice vibrating.

"We are here with a arrest warrant for someone present here at the party" O'Brian said, swaying around at the sudden outburst that rose from the reporters flashing cameras weren't slacking,he returned his gaze on the guests.

"What? That's impossible, there must be a mistake" The senator said in utter disbelief, his eyes roaming around confusedly.

"I'm sorry Senator but that's not what the evidence say" The CBI agent,Joe said firmly.

"Really? Then you have my full cooperation" The senator added, stepping aside, allowing cops through. I bit my lips in an attempt to push back the smile so eager to pop out. 'Rick's acting skill was definitely commendable.' I say mentally having a blast.

The DEA agent took few steps forward, taking a glance at the populated guests. "Dave Anderson" He called out with superiority, his eyes scanning meticulously.

I stood frozen on my spot at his call,my head swayed sideways in the purest form of astonishment to find Dave struck with surprise and a lot of confusion. His grey orbs turned, meeting mine.

"Dave Anderson!" O'Brian called louder, his voice sounding impatient.

I could feel the heated gazes that turned to him, chatters and whispers erupted mildly, but my eyes never departing from my so-called husband grey orbs. Only fear and discerning traces of confusion were filled in it.

Still I didn't look away neither did he,I could hear sturdy steps approaching.

"Dave Anderson?" The DEA agent, O'Brian questioned but it's clearly sounded like a statement.

"Yes" Dave muttered, mustering the little ounce of courage that he probably had left. "That's me"

The DEA agent shot him a condescending look. "Dave Anderson" He uttered mockingly. "You are under arrest for illegal smuggling, possession and consumption of heroin."

The whole place went silent, probably taking it all in. Flashes from the reporters cameras lit up the room, followed by loud ruckus and murmurings and several loathsome hisses, but my gaze still stuck on him.

"That's insane. You have the wrong person here. I have never smuggled nor consumed any of those stuff. Never in my life" Dave yelled refutedly, banishing the little fear that wanted entrance,he held his head up high, his words so firm and adamant just like his menacing ego. I hissed, clearly unconcerned, watching him further humiliate himself.

"Is that so?" O'Brian mused at his words,"Then can you explain the reason we found drugs in your home and office and most likely in your system when tested"

Dave jaw dropped I could see beads of sweat that started to formed on his forehead. "That's preposterous!" He reproved, his voice sounding more broken compared to his last. A gratifying feeling flooded in as I glanced back at the reporters, just making sure they are get this. "I have never done drugs." Dave yelled, tension evident in his voice. One could tell he was frustrated, he gave a look around catching the reproaching gazes everyone held.

I was damn certain a flush of abashment flooded through,he raised his head meeting mine. "They have the wrong guy" He said almost pleadingly,as if assuring.

"Well that's what only you think Anderson." O'Brian spoke brusquely, motioning few of his men forward.

Dave probably took in the cops next course of action, he pushed a step back watching the cops coming closer. "I am Dave Anderson, you have no right to-"

"Enough with the pretense. You are under arrest Dave Anderson" O'Brian clearly angered, gestured to his men again.

"What?" Dave muttered in a whisper, I could literally hear the pounding of his heart beat, his face contorted in fear and shame.

"I need to see an arrest warrant?" Emma spoke sharply, she was instantly before Dave, demanding vacuously like a defending lawyer.

The DEA agent let out a threatening hiss, then showed her his warrant. "No more nonsense. Take him away" He ordered his men who quickly went over to Dave, cuffing his wrists with a silver shackle. "And ma'am you are more than welcome to accompany him. Let's go"

I watched them drag Dave away,he was as still as frigid air,he turned around sparing me a stare. His eyes containing a degree of shame before retreating his stare.

I felt her gaze on me,I pulled up my head meeting a fury glare of Emma, which I returned impassively.

She stomped out, following her lover. Something I know she'll always do,even if it's meant going to hell with him.

"You're good?" I flinched a bit, at the virile voice that whispered into my ear, causing a certain chill on my skin. I turned around instantly, meeting Asher's green orbs which were few inches away.

I inhaled slowly, moving a bit sideway. He handed me a glass of wine, a full blown smile on his face, one that always managed to affect me in the weirdest way. I quickly collected the wine, gulping down a little. "I feel amazing" I say, without further saying a word. Asher lifted his glass up to a toast,he didn't utter a word but I knew the reason for this toast. I raised mine also, taking a sip, enjoying the chatters and disdainful comments that filled the room, loving it all. Friday parties are the best.

It was like music to my ears. But the best part would certainly be the headlines tomorrow. A devilish smile formed on my lips. I couldn't wait,I inhaled sweetly at the thought of Dave been detained, spending some nights inside the petrifying walls of prison, something that he would consider 'so beneath him'.

Dave's POV

I moved silently, glaring angrily at the glass doors that stood before me,I felt nothing more than a scumbag, a ragged criminal. But that surely wasn't the worst,I cussed mentally at large number of reporters that were now decorations outside the CBI office.

Oh I would give anything to shush the worthless punk of reporters swoop around me,asking various nonsensical questions that they've kept going for a while.

I sighed, keeping my head up high,I'm innocent so I have no reason to cower in shame,it's nothing more than a stupid misunderstanding that's will no doubt seriously cost me but still I'm innocent.

I blazed angrily at the two hunks dressed like monkeys in those uniform, they held firmly my arms, dragging me through the glass doors.

I was led through several doors, then pushed abruptly into a room. One which was practically empty except for the table that stood defiantly in between the space of two chairs.

I offered my self a seat, watching with disdainful eyes at both the DEA and CBI agent who walked into the room.

My flared gaze never wavered,

"I would advice you to lower your gaze Anderson" The so-called DEA agent spoke, taking the vacant seat opposite me.

"It's Dave,Dave Anderson" I corrected in rage. I wasn't one of the hoodlums he usually had endless fun with, I'm Dave Anderson, not some lowlife sham.

"Well in this place,I can call you whatever I want 'Anderson'" He stressed, and right now I wanted nothing more than to hold him by his collar and beat the lifeless shit out of him. But I restrained the dying urge,I couldn't afford to be held on more stupid charges.

"I'm innocent. You have the wrong guy here and I would prefer you don't waste anymore of my precious time and let me go,after a proper apology of course" I say, looking him straight in his eyes as a smug smeared his lips.

He let out a sardonic laughter, which haunted the room for seconds. "You're innocent?" He mocked, letting out another laughter. "You are one funny man" He smirked, irritatingly throwing a handful of papers on the table.

"And what's this?" I asked, staring at the scattered papers.

"It's enough proof we got Anderson. We found some of your illicit shipment, all in your name" Joe said, flashing another paper on the table. "And some illegal drugs too in your home and office Anderson"

I stared confusedly at the supposed evidence. I was confounded. I picked some up with my cuffed hands, going through it.

Something was wrong.

It were all in my name. Everything he said turns out right. But it was all false.

"These are fake" I resolved. I could be a lot of things, smuggling anything else but drugs, even if I did,I wouldn't be this stupid to use it all in my name. "I'm been set up" I say firmly to him, suddenly realizing the trouble I'm in.

"Yeah..." O'Brian mocked, watching me like I had two heads. "That's what the likes of you always go with."

"I'm telling you this is a frame up" I insisted, trying hard to keep my expression calm.

"So who would want to set you up?" Joe asked, glancing sideways to O'Brian in sheer ridicule, earning a groan from me.

"Aren't you the CBI , figure it out." I said in a loud pitch voice.

"You are right. I am the CBI and I say,you are done for" Joe spat.

His words holding a certain authority that for a murderous second,I flinched in fear. This couldn't be happening to me. Who could be behind this? I began thinking but it wasn't fruitful. I stared intently at O'Brian unyielding demeanor, saying the one thing that could get me out of this. "I need a lawyer"

Just as the words left, the door sprung open revealing Emma in her tapping red heels.

Gosh in my entire life,I couldn't be more happy to see her face.

She strode further, with Martin and Mr Dominic,my lawyer.

"I'm Dominic Westmore,Mr Anderson's lawyer" He introduced, while a smile appeared on my lips. "I would like a minutes with Mr Anderson"

I watched O'Brian's face lit up with that same annoying smirk that had succeeded in irritating me. "Fine" He said, moving to the door with Joe. "I'll send in my team for your blood" He added shutting the door behind.

Immediately I was up on my feet. "What the hell is going on?" I shot Dominic a look, then to Emma who simply settled on the vacant seat.

"Mr Anderson, it seems there are a lot of charges against you and-" I cut him off, I didn't need this scum telling me what's pretty much obvious.

"I don't want to hear anything. Get me out of here Dominic" I yelled, feeling slight pain from the cuff on my wrist. The anger and pain rushed in. "I need to get out of this place."

"Yes Mr Anderson, I'll see to it." Dominic added lazily, in a manner that almost had me exasperated. And again, the door flung opened, ushering in the familiar face of one of the monkeys who brought me in, and a blonde female with O'Brian tailing behind.

"Get a sample of his blood" He instructed the female, who looked rather beautiful in her white shirt that was well tucked under her coffee brown skirt which hugged her thigh in a fashionable and extremely sexy manner,it took a halt right above her knees, with a noticeable split at the side.

She motioned toward me,with a syringe in hand. She came closer and then I could clearly see to what a beauty she was.Her deep ocean blue gaze fell on me. She was an undeniable beauty, but nothing compared to my stainless beauty.

A enraging thought instant rushed in,causing me to sigh. Goodness knows what Natalie thinks of me now. I sighed frustratedly, suddenly realizing the blonde beauty was all done, hopefully the tests results would prove my innocence and I'll be out of here, not before teaching this brute of a DEA a lesson. I thought inwardly watching the trio exit the door with Dominic.

"Martin how did this happen? That bastard is saying that he found drugs in my company." I questioned Martin angrily.

"Sir,that's right, the cops found some drugs in the company and they also claimed you are involved in illicit shenanigans and smuggling of illegal drugs"

My grey orbs stuck on martin, listening to the absurdity of his words. "I'm been set up"

"Yes sir,it's pretty obvious because I know you can never do such things" Martin said rather innocently, tugging in his glasses which usually covered almost half of his face.

I threw a glance at Emma, who has been awfully quiet. "This must not get out, shut the press up,Krystal Corp's image is at stake due to this scandal and if this matter is not carefully sorted, we may lose everything." I placed my hands on table, tapping idly.

"I tried but unfortunately it's out already." Martin muttered, clearly defeated but that didn't prevent the inflaming anger that floated in.

"What the hell Martin, how much more useless can you be." I was up on my feet, for a second forgetting the cuffs restricting my wrists. "I don't care what you must fucking do but get it all down" I yelled, watching Martin fidgeting a little.

"Yes Sir" Hastily he dashed out of the room.

I paced back and forth,my gaze settling on Emma who apparently was still rooted on her seat. I could see she was thinking. "Emma"

"Yes" She answered, not looking at me.

"You haven't said a word,what's wrong?" I asked,watching her carefully.

"Just sit." As usual, she ordered bossily, causing me to furiously roll my eyes.

"Now what?" I took a seat wondering what's got her more worked up than usual.

"Something is amiss. This is a well staged ploy " She pulled her thumb to her face, rubbing it mildly.

"Of course it is Emma,I'm been set up. It's no doubt one of our rivalry companies whos so eager to knock out Krystal Corp." I clasped my hands.

Emma gave me a thoughtful look. She brushed back a strand of her red hair. "Far from it Dave. I don't think this is from our rivalry companies. Something deep down tells me its far from that." Emma paused looking at me,as I stared also at her, holding back the words so eager to pop out from my throat. "Really Emma" I gave her an incredulous look.

"Don't give that look Dave." She spoke quickly.

"Alright, say that's true. Who could be behind this"

"I don't know." She said after a long pause, and I knew she was lying or at least she had a suspect. "All I know, someone is out to get us and we must be on alert."

"Tell me what you know Emma."

"Later, first we must figure out how to get you out of this mess. Hopefully the tests result would be of help" She finished, letting out a sigh.

I remained silent, watching her as my gaze fluttered to the door which opened. Dominic marched in with his face glum.

"What?" I asked, inspecting him thoroughly. But instead he lazily dragged his feet closer, sometimes I do wonder how i always end up with such incompetent nincompoops. "Well can I leave now"

"No sir,not quite yet. The blood test is still in process" He sighed, placing his hands on the table. "I tried settling in for bail but it was declined."

"What do you mean it was declined" I screamed, stressing my voice.

"Mr Anderson, I tried my best to ensure you get out this night but it was declined, only until Monday, then we could bail you out,but until then-"

"Until then what?, I stay in this godforsaken place. Not happening Dominic,I'm not some lowlife, I'm Dave freaking Anderson and I demand you get me out of here" I vented, clearly pissed.

"Dave control yourself" Emma shouted in similar tone. "I know you are frustrated but there's nothing that can be done now."

"Easy for you to say,you aren't the one spending nights in this hellhole" I kept on screaming furiously.

"This is not a zoo,Anderson" Joe walked through the door, his gaze on me. "Time to leave" He spoke to Dominic, then settling his gaze on Emma.

My incompetent excuse of a lawyer simply nodded, moving to the door. "I promise I'll get you out of here" Emma said, almost inaudibly, she touched my hands giving it a squeeze.

Somehow I didn't feel assured by her words,at this moment I wished more than ever she would somehow magically transform into Natalie. But it was obviously impossible. I simply nodded at her, watching her exit, leaving me with the bloody CBI agent who had a foolish grin plastered on his face, making me cuss inwardly. I knew this was going to be one dreadful night and instead of clearing the baseless accusations against me with Natalie, I'm rather here,in company of this imbecile. But I kept my thought to myself, watching him closely as I couldn't help but ask this idiot for a request. "Could I make a call"

Joe's eyes widened a bit. "I see,to whom would it be to"

"To Natalie," I returned the look he threw me. "Natalie Reed"
