Hidden in Plain Sight (Edited)

We rush onto the dirt path the cart is going down. I sped up to the cart and jumped over the horses. I grabbed one of the men by the neck before throwing him behind me. In the next second, Klaus was next to me, as we both held a human by the neck. We look at each other with smirks and bite into their necks, draining them quickly, and scaring the life out of the last four humans that are seen. Lilly is feeding on the one I threw behind me. Finn appears like a mirage in front of an older man, who looks to be in his fifties and feeds on him. While Kol toyed with his human a bit, chasing it back and forth with vamp speed, before drinking deeply. Elijah and Rebekah are both more sophisticated in their hunting style. They are quiet and appear behind their victims feeding on them before they can even scream.

When we were finished all of my siblings start arguing about what we should do for the thousandth time.

"I say we just split up. Mikael will have a harder time chasing us in 7 or 6 different directions."

Kol says, looking at Lilly and Elijah at the last bit. Then Elijah responded.

"We made an oath of Always and Forever... We will not abandon that promise."

Finn scoffed and Kol's snarky reply was.

"Your oaths haunt us more than Father himself ever could."

Finn decided to speak up and say.

"I can't believe I am saying this, but I agree with Kol. I want to sleep in a real bed, eat real food, and experience what is out there."

Rebekah, the one with imagination,  says, while looking at the dresses.

"Shame about the dresses... Why can't we pose as these humans? They are obviously nobles and heading somewhere. Why can't we simply go in their place?"

Klaus and I snort, being slapped in the arms by Lilly, as Elijah said.

"Yes, impersonate nobles from a land we know not. To a destination, we could never guess. Not to mention the customs and rules of the land we enter."

Shaking his head Elijah says

"No sister we cannot.... And no Kol, we are not splitting up."

He said to Kol, who opened his mouth, and I took the opportunity to shush them all and say.

"Do you hear that?"

All six of them listen and hear a terrified heartbeat. Elijah pulls a cloth away from the cart. Showing the servant that I saw before we attacked. He yelped and jumped out of the cart, scrambling away from Elijah, Klaus, and Rebekah. Bumping into Kol and screaming when Kol showed his vampire face, with a smirk. Then the servant ran into Lilly who threw him to me. I looked him over before dragging him to Klaus, who grabbed him from me, and Rebekah said.

"Can we keep him please?"

Me, Elijah, and Klaus look at her and we all repeat the first rule for our survival before Klaus says.

"Now what to do with you?"

The man muttered over, and over, before saying.

"I can help you... The nobles I was escorting, were to be guests of my master Count de Martel. They were Comte du Guise, his wife, and children."

Seeing some of us interested, he continued.

"I know the traditions and customs of the people and with me... You can all be safe from whatever form of monsters that hunt you."

Looking back and forth we all have different thoughts about what he said so I say.

"Put It to a vote. those that want to kill him?"

Elijah, Kol, and Lilly raised their hands.

"And who wants him to live?"

Rebekah, Finn, and I raised our hands.

"Well, well Nik, what's it to be?"

"What is your name servant?"

Klaus ignored Kol, then the man said

"Lucien Castle."

So Klaus agreed to let him live and we are waiting to be introduced to the Count de Martel. All of us are dressed in noble clothes. I am in forest green like my eyes. We are all looking around, and eventually, we all looked up, the architecture was amazing to people who grew up in hovels.

"And for God's sake, stop looking up."

Lucien said then, pushing a lock of hair off of Kol's shoulder, who in turn whispered to him.

"Touch me again and I will rip your arms off."

Causing Lucien to pale slightly and swallow thickly when I say.

"Behave little brother. We can't have news spreading about us just yet."

Beating Finn to reprimanding Kol.

When we reach the Count. Lucien hesitated for a split second then said.

"Your grace, may I present the children of Comte du Guise."

Count De Martel looked at each of us before saying.

"Your father never told me about you in all of our dealings."

Elijah is the one to explain. I stopped paying attention, till both Lilly and Rebekah introduced themselves, bowing deeply. I watch the Counts eyes travel over my sister's and promised myself that I would be the one to kill him.

Before the rest of my siblings can say anything to the count. A page runs in gasping for air before saying in a surprisingly steady voice.

"Presenting the Royal Princess, sister of the King of France Robert the 2nd. Princess Juliette."

After he said that, the same big doors he came through were completely opened and 20 guards enter the throne room. Once they stopped moving, a beautiful woman with strawberry blonde hair and grey steel-like eyes, wearing a royal blue with white embroidery dress, walks down the steps with grace. When she reached the center, she looked around the whole room before meeting my eyes for a long moment, before moving on to the Count and saying.

"Sorry for my late arrival my lord. There was an issue with bandits on the road here. Don't worry though, my men here were more than enough to deal with them. Though I don't know how my brother will feel that I was attacked in one of his lord's lands."
