CH.7 Interesting Proposal

-3rd POV-

It's been an entire day since Sys has explained Reimu's powers to Sakuya. Right now Sakuya was wandering the village looking for some local ingredients for food.

However, other than the task her mistress has given her, something else was on her mind.

'Sys, how much do I have right now?'

[30 System Credits. you got 15 from the 3 days I've existed, 5 from your first quest and 10 from the Shadow Remilia thingy.]

'I need 20 more to get a copy of L1 me... whatever that means.' Sakuya remembered the rest of the prices and she sighed while holding an apple. She then put it in the her basket and left some yen before heading off to look for some vegetables.

[Oh, how convenient heh.]

'Hm? Mission?' As she thought that, a detailed window popped up once more.

[Donations Are Appreciated!]

[Difficulty: C-]

[Requirements: Donate some money to the Hakurei Shrine or Maiden. Do not time stop on the way.]

[Rewards: +10 System Credits]

At seeing the rewards Sakuya couldn't help but squint her eyes as she made her way out of the human village. 'Are you certain that your not the one triggering or making these Missions?'

[Nope, I have no control over this. Either your emotions or needs affect it, or maybe even higher beings trigger this.]

Sakuya sighed as she then decided to shove the basket of groceries into the System inventory and flew to the Hakurei shrine. The mission didn't say anything about not using her space manipulation or flying, so there's that at least.

All of a sudden, Sakuya leaned to the left and avoided a bullet (magic). She stared ahead and saw a few stray fairies. With a sigh, Sakuya threw knives to clear the path. 'This is why that Shrine Maiden should regularly clean the path.'

[Sakuya...]

'Hm?' She addressed the question as she eliminated a fairy while dodging some shots.

[Your quite active within your mind aren't you?]

In turn, the last of the fairies were quickly taken care of with an accurate throw. 'Yes? Am I not allowed to have my own thoughts?' She raised an eyebrow while making her way to the shrine.

[Well, I know this contradicts what I said when we first met, but I always thought of you as the cool beauty type.]

Sakuya had a faint smile. 'Well, as the maid under the Scarlet Devil, I can't exactly let her image be strained by this "mere" servant.' A cute giggle from the maid seemed to quiet Sys for a few seconds.

[Ah, more fairies incoming.]

They easily made it to the Shrine after that. Surprisingly, only fairies got in the way, no Cirno, Daiyousei or the such of course.

Sakuya had landed at the Tori gate or just, entrance, of the Hakurei Shrine. 'I don't see Reimu, probably at the back.' Sakuya had thought while stepping towards the donation box.

[That's how she's also portrayed in many works. Reimu Hakurei, the Lazy Shrine Maiden of Paradise.]

Sakuya nodded while taking out some money from her wallet. Then with a skillful toss, it landed into the box. With a thud, several rushing footsteps were heard from behind the Shrine.

[Ah, here she comes.] Sys said with Sakuya smiling in response.

Reimu had appeared out from behind the shrine, her haired was a bit of a mess and she breathed a bit heavily while holding her Gohei. What Sys didn't expect was the eye of suspicion Reimu gave Sakuya after noticing it was her who donated.

[Why's she sus-] She was cut off by the System completing the quest with the sound effect of some fanfare and confetti.

[Quest Complete!]

[Rewards have been given to you.}

Sys was cut off by the System itself. Plus, it sounded less like Sys and more like a text-to-speech bot.

'Sys.' Sakuya addressed her partner.

[Yeah Sakuya?] The floating window turned to her, and Sakuya made a request while the window changed to a new quest.

'I feel as though I need to beat Reimu right now.' The moment she thought of this, the window gave out two more quests.

[Initiate duel]

[Difficulty: D-]

[Requirements: Challenge Reimu to a spellcard battle of 3 rounds with 3 spellcards.]

/A/N: This means 1 spellcard per round, they could either go back and forth, one goes then the other, clash, which means at the same time, or simple battle of bullets./

[Reward: +10 System Credits]

After that window appeared, another came right beside it, basically blocking Sys.]

[Hey-!] She was promptly cut off and blocked.

[System vs Reimu]

[Difficulty: A-]

[Requirements: Use the character abilities from the System to beat Reimu Hakurei, this means open the shop and either purchase Sakuya L1 or Reimu L1. Personal skills are allowed.]

[Reward: Single free shop purchase.]

The rewards simply left Sakuya a bit stunned, but she continued the intense stare-down with Reimu.

[Now Sakuya, let's think this through...] Sys tried to reason with Sakuya, because she probably held a grudge for not allowing her mistress to not complete the scarlet mist incident.

'Don't worry Sys, this is simply for the rewards, besides... didn't you tell me how Reimu's powers worked?' With this, Sys went silent and Sakuya continued monologuing internally.

'If I were to purchase Reimu's L1 and perhaps get her strange "Float" attribute, I could balance the scales. If I go with the flow and not try as hard, do what I usually do, my chances of winning will increase drastically.' As Sakuya continued to explain, Sys relented and just opened the shop with a message beside it.

[Fine, but you better win!]

Sakuya heard that and curled her lips into a smile and leapt back and into the air. "Reimu Hakurei, I challenge you to a spellcard battle. Rules are 3 and 3."

[Quest Complete! Rewards have been given.]

Sakuya quickly purchased Reimu's L1 card and immediately felt cozy and strange. Memories foreign to her surged into her temple and corroded her mind. She kept a straight face as, no pain was felt, and she still felt like her, except now with more experience.

"Why would I accept that Maid?" Reimu questioned, to which Sakuya almost lashed out surprisingly, but didn't.

"Because I simply needed to blow some steam." A strange excuse coming from her, but Reimu shook her head and flew up nonetheless.

"Fine, but let's make this quick." Reimu held her gohei to the side, but Sakuya almost did the same thing and grasped air, realizing this, she went back to her usual cross armed posture.

She slowly entered a feeling of calm and took a deep breath. She stared right into Reimu's eyes and with a simultaneous blink, they flew backwards and casted their spellcards.

Should I use Reimu's stuff against herself, just Sakuya with more bs since Reimu's strange Float is basically aimbot and homing on crack, or a mix of both?

Also, I need better named for those Quests/Missions, give it to me, I'll edit the chapter later.
