2 The beginning of the path

"Harper!" I yelled as soon as I saw her. She was waiting at the gates of the Pentagon of Academies. She turned around and grinned "Lydia, long time no see!" Harper called out as I tackled her.

Harper and I are sisters, we are Senators gone common when our family sided against King Macari during the Pimpernel War.

After a few minutes of hugging each other. They broke apart, both giggling together. "You've grown so much, Lydia. You're almost as tall as me now". I barked out a laugh, "that's what 4 years do to people Har".

She gave me a warm smile, "are you ready for the examination." Oh yeah, that's why I'm here. Today is the big day for so many 15 years olds across the land. The examination day determines your future. If you do well and become the 20% that are accepted your future is almost secured.

"I'm really nervous but I hope I do well" I answered wistfully. This launched Harper into a rant about how I was gonna do fantastic as I finally crossed the gate.
