The few weeks passed so fast it felt like they hadn't come at all. There was a moment of peace, at least in the lives of Lily, Raven, and their loved ones, just the emptiness and sadness they felt for the life that was lost was still there deeply engraved in their hearts.
Raven felt it the most; most days he spent quietly in his workroom and would only smile when he saw Lily's face. It was his way of mourning his dear friend.
"Raven," Lily stood at the door with a plate of pancakes and juice. She had learned to give Raven space, knowing he needed it at this moment to gather his thoughts. When he was ready, he would come around, but she was always there to care for his every need.
Raven raised his face to look at Lily, the only joy and perfection in his life at the moment.
"Can I come in?" she asked with a small voice that was followed by a smile.
Raven nodded. "Always."
