Lily gulped, it's the 'devil'. She said in her mind with her hands still trembling. Raven picked the phone from the girl's hand, turning it off, he said, "You don't want to do that. Now run along and forget everything that happened here, little girl." His voice low and chilly to the bone. _ _ _ Sunshine Meets Grumpy He's a hitman, a hacker, a serpent slithering through the city's underbelly. Not a hero, not even close. CHICKEN AND COFFEE

[MUSIC RECOMMENDATION: EVERYTHING I WANTED ~ BILLIE EILISH]

As soon as Lily got home, she threw her bag on the floor, dropping her body on the bed as she was so exhausted.

"Ahh!! I wish I had it easy like those rich children out there, who don't have to work to feed themselves and pay their rent," Lily sighed, removing her glasses. Her eyes grew heavy as sleep swept in. She was almost stepping into the dreamland when she felt someone shake her violently.

"Get up, Lily!!" A young boy of about seventeen called out, pushing her sister vigorously.

Lily mumbled, rolling on the bed as she tried to find comfort and continue with her sleep.

"Lily!!" Her brother's voice was now louder than normal.

"I'm up, I'm up." Lily sat up, a yawn escaping her lips. She didn't bother to cover her mouth, as she was in the comfort of her home.

"You weren't home when I got back." Lily asked when she finally snapped out of her drowsiness. "Fred, don't tell me you went to the gaming center again!." She scowled, watching her brother like an eagle.

Fred kicked the air mindlessly, avoiding his sister's prying gaze. "What's for dinner?" he asked, changing the wave of discussion.

Lily sighed; he did it again! Always spending money on games instead of going to school. She was cursed in a whole lot of ways. Lily shut her eyes tight, trying to calm her nerves. Then she picked up her glasses, fixing it on her face, and she stood up from the bed.

"I came back late today, we should eat in. I'll get groceries tomorrow, okay? Order chicken." Lily said, moving the heaped dirty plates that were in their small kitchen.

Fred snapped his finger joyfully. "Chicken okay!!" He retrieved his phone, dialing the delivery number, as his voice faded.

Left alone in the kitchen, Lily looked around their house. It was a small studio room that her salary could only afford, and at the same time, pay her school fees. After her parents divorced when she was fifteen, she and Fred were put under her father's custody while her mother went off the radar like she was never there.

"I wish I could stumble on the genie, just three wishes," Lily muttered, putting on her washing gloves. She started washing the plates; it was like three weeks' worth of plates. She only had time during the weekends because she closes early, but today her boss kept her out late.

After washing Lily hit her shoulders gently, feeling the stress now finally soak into her body. "I should have a warm bath!!" She said in a sing-song voice.

Unlike other girls, Lily didn't need too much for her skin, not like she didn't wish to have more. It's just that she couldn't afford it, so she made do with what she had.

Lily massaged her body with the soap, while humming a song that played on her phone. She rubbed her face, then she reached out for the shower head.

"Argh!!" Lily screamed on top of her voice, "Why is it cold!!" She cried.

Fred snickered, "We got cut off for this month, the landlady said you haven't made deposit."

Lily sighed, gritting her teeth as the cold water was now biting into her skin. She stepped out of the bathroom, tying her body with a towel first.

"Your hair! You look like an ice cream." Fred remarked with a stuffed chicken in his mouth.

Lily touched her hair, "I couldn't wash it, it was too cold." She pouted, changing into her nightwear, she dried her hair before joining her brother at the table.

Fred sucked his teeth, "Ah, and I've been thinking you'll be our ticket out of poverty when you marry a wealthy man. We are doomed." The young boy shook his head in disappointment.

Lily didn't pay mind to her brother's words, she was used to it. Speaking of wealthy, her mind trailed back to the car she saw honking in front of her store.

"Fred, you know much about cars right? How much is a black BMW with silver umm..." Lily's voice trailed.

"Stinking rich, if he's asking for a one night stand accept it. Please" Fred remarked, as he got hit with the pillow thrown by Lily.

Lily muttered to herself, "Wealthy people and wealthy problems."

....

The black BMW drove into an all-black penthouse; there was no sign of any person in the house. The gate was opened automatically as Raven drove inside his garage.

"Welcome Home Raven." An all-white robot with a female voice greeted.

Raven removed his shoe while wearing the slippers meant for inside the house. "Thank you, Lucy." Raven carefully placed his keys and jacket on the stand.

"You look annoyed Ryker. Did you meet someone? Was your mission not successful?" The robot named Lucy asked, making a whirling sound when it turned to follow its master.

Raven sighed, "I got the chip alright, but I've found more reasons to stay away from humans." The young man remarked, weaving his fingers through his midnight hair.

"I'll get your plain black coffee ready; you always enjoy it when you want to detox after meeting people." Lucy remarked, moving away to perform her duty diligently.

Raven entered inside his bathroom, soaking himself head to toe with the hot water. Done with bathing, he wore a loose pants that hung snugly on his waist, revealing his perfectly lined abs.

"Your coffee is ready" Lucy delivered.

Raven picked the small cup, getting comfortable on his work table, he pulled out his laptop and the flash drive he got from the flower store. After the little commotion in front of the store, he had stepped in to retrieve a chip that was of importance to his foundation. Even he, had no idea what was in it.

Inserting the drive, he clicked on it. Scanning through the files but there was nothing of importance found in it. He picked up his phone and dialed his partner's number.

"Shadow, are you sure this is it? There's nothing related to the foundation that is here." He replied, his mouse making a click click sound.

"Raven, the mission changed. The higher-ups think the chip is hidden somewhere else. So we are to make contact with everyone that works at the shop." Shadow replied, chewing on something.

Raven moved his phone from his ear, looking at it properly he said, "We?"

Shadow nodded where he was, "Yes, we. You know I'm dumb, I can only fight and kill. We need to hack into the phones of everyone there." The young man replied, not bothered about calling himself dumb.

"Not doing it." Was Raven's curt words, before he dropped the call.

Shadow on the other end said, "Told you he won't do it." He said to nobody in particular, as the room he was in was very dark.

"Sometimes I wonder if secretly he's our boss, he gets to decide what job he wants." The young agent finally said in a curious tone."
