Chapter 7: Alkara City

Along the way, we were able to kill three black wolves. I wanted one of my clones to have a subclass of blacksmith, and in order to do that, they need to create many things. So I handed the three wolf pelts to Jared, and he did his best to make three cloaks, which he tried his best.

After hours of traveling, we finally reached our destination, Alkara City it was quite the busy one, with hundreds of people walking to the stores or restaurants. There were also adventurers and knights in groups laughing and enjoying their day.

This is what disgusted me the most, those knights were acting as if there was no corruption in this kingdom, and pretending to preach their 'justice' to the public. It was despicable.

First thing was first, I needed to get stronger, and in order to do that, there are three choices. First one is becoming a knight for a kingdom. This one is a given that I won't be doing it, this kingdom is the most corrupt of them all. The second choice is by becoming an adventurer for one of the many guilds in the city, or other kingdoms. And for the third, is by becoming a Private Hunter. Becoming a private hunter is the best choice, but it is the hardest, there are many perquisites and even then, there is a small chance of someone hiring you to work for them.

There is a fourth option, but it is the worst outcome of all, which is just hunting by yourself, this is a slower route, since you don't know where dungeons are and it will take time and money to acquire information. So I went with the second option, joining a guild.

I remember my dad talking about a guild his brother, my uncle joined. It was called Twin Eagle, it wasn't the best guild, but it was something. Unfortunately I would not get an easy acceptance by family, since my uncle died three years ago in a raid. Villagers are weak afterall, he ended up dying by a sole goblin, after his group was surrounded.

I asked around, and finally found a broken-up wooden building in the corner of the city. There was a wooden sign barely hanging by a thread above the entrance that read, 'Twin Eagle' in black letters. The paint could be seen wearing off, and barely visible. I opened the door, and the laughter and singing consumed me.

I could see about a dozen adventurers drinking and laughing, some dancing, and one man talking to the lady in the front desk.

"Come on Elsa, I am a strong one eh. I can support the both of us, there aren't many 'E' ranks around this city"

I could see the girl who was really uncomfortable, trying to push him away with a fake smile.

"Come on Hendricks, how many times do I have to tell you, nooo!"

The man scratched his head.

"Damn, I guess I will try again tomorrow, see you then my beautiful Elsa."

"GO DIE HENDRICKS!"

everyone began to laugh, and then that is when they noticed my clones and I. The laughter died down, and it became silent as a ghost town. All eyes were on us, examining us to the smallest details.

That is when the beautiful red headed receptionist spoke.

"Hey there, are you looking to join our guild? All three of you, even your little brother?" She was looking at Jared, blushing.

The three of us all walked up to the counter.

"My older brother doesn't talk, so I do most of the talking. And yes we are trying our luck with becoming adventurers."

Everyone was now staring at me, which then followed by laughter. A man in the corner stood up, which emitted a presence shutting everyone up.

"You all look like villagers to me, the perquisite to join my guild is by having an official class. [Official class: not villager]"

"Don't worry (Smiles) we all have an official class, I can't tell you mine, but I give you my word, which is something I value the most, that I indeed have an official class, my older brother is a tank and my older sister is a mage."

"A MAGE!!!" "A tank!!"

I could hear voices be exchanged in low whispers throughout the room.

That is when the beautiful receptionist replied.

"Then we will accept you to join our guild, but there is a small test in order to join. You must kill 10 goblins and 5 black wolves. Bring me the goblins ears, and the wolves pelts for proof, you can keep them. I just need to make sure you won't cheat your way okay?"

I smiled and responded.

"Fair enough"
