Chapter 4 (the unexpected)

SEVERUS'S CHAMBERS...

He was wondering why he had been put back in his shackles and brought back to his Chambers at the castle, after what was deemed to be his final gladiator match.

Severus should have received word from Governor Bianchi immediately after the match, but sources told him that Bianchi had been in a meeting with several nobilities so he should wait till the meetings are over, the soldier that brings him food in the evening told him a different thing from what he heard from other sources, he told Severus that Bianchi was having a feast at the Royal Chambers with a few guests.

Severus had freshened up and rid himself of his armor, waiting in casual robes to be summoned by the Governor and have his freedom talked about.

His Chambers was free from disturbances, only the chittering voice of Frank the goldfinch skipping around in his little cage placed on a shelf.

Severus seated on his cold mattress, alone, he would have had company from harlots, an after-match tradition that most gladiators engage in, but Severus preferred upholding his vows even in captivity, even when the urges do come at times he still resolves to fidelity.

It was a little luxurious in his Chambers, having established himself as a mighty gladiator made the Governor move him out of the cell to a chamber at the Castle, they were many diversions he could engage in, the shelf carrying his goldfinch's cage had varieties of novels and historic books in it, a small door in his room was a work-out room too, but becoming free was all he needed at the moment, or at least hearing a word from the Governor.

Everything stayed the way it was for quite a long,

Deep in the evening when the nights fell in, Severus heard footsteps coming alive, he stood from his mattress hastily, Severus strode into the living room, he came to the door of the chamber made out of hard iron rods, he clung the doors and listened to the approaching footsteps, it wasn't one footstep but many, Severus was on a que vive, listening, he heard three different footsteps coming alive in a passage outside his Chambers, he laid in wait at the door to see who they were.

Martina and Camillus appeared before his door unexpectedly, with a guard on their side.

Severus gaped when he saw them, "Oh My love," Severus said softly, he let out a slight gasp tear filled his eyes, Martina moved hurriedly at him with tears in her eyes, their lips joined through the wide spacing in the door, every second their lips went deeper into each other's mouth, Camillus and the guard on their side had only to watch,

Severus looked Martina closely in the eye, panting closely at each other's face, Severus buried his hands in Martina's hair.

"What are they saying about your freedom?" Martina said, the tears yet to flow in her eyes flowed, her whole self shuddered as she wept, Martina mowed and kept her face down, her tears dripped down to the floor.

"You are weeping as if I have been told I wouldn't be let free," Severus said to her.

"Why are you still in here, I thought they were to free you immediately after the match, why is it being delayed." Martina wailed, she caught Severus face in her hands,

"I haven't been with you in a long time, each second without you hurts me a lot."

What Martina said, drove Severus to tears, he trickled down to the floor and kneeled, shuddering as tears ran down his cheek, seeing mummy and daddy in agony moved Camillus to tears.

The guard on their side wrapped his arm around Camillus, he couldn't bear but share their pains.

"You have to leave Lady De Niro, as ordered by the chief warden nobody is allowed to see him for more than five minutes." The guard said, he patted Martina softly,

Camillus received a kiss on the head from Severus.

The guard led them out of the passage into the castle compound before leaving them to find their way home.

Severus didn't leave the door of his Chambers, he laid faced down in front of the door, jittering and sobbing.
