Hidden Pains

After the discussion about the dress, Jiang Shu and Song Yu parted ways to focus on their respective work. As a new employee, Song Yu was aware that she was under scrutiny from her colleagues. She tried to brush off the feeling and focused on her tasks

As she headed to her desk , Song Yu couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. She was still getting used to her new role, and her colleagues seemed to be watching her every move. She knew she had to prove herself, especially with her disability - her left ear was completely deaf, a result of an accident a few months ago.

.

...

Today Song Yu was dressed in a simple white shirt and black pants, her hair pulled back into a sleek ponytail.

The stylist arrived to take Song Yu's measurements for the custom-made dress. "Don't worry, I'll have it ready by Friday," she said with a smile. "The Met Gala is on Saturday, and I want to make sure you look stunning."

As Song yu thought it was Jiang shu's cruelty to make her beautiful

...

.

....

As Song Yu was working , as she was hit with a sudden, sharp pain in her right ear. It was intense, but it vanished as quickly as it came.

Song Yu winced, rubbing her ear in confusion. What was that? She didn't want to tell Jiang Shu about it, fearing she would look weak or pitiful in front of her. She pushed the thought aside and headed out the door, trying to shake off the feeling of unease.

....

She couldn't understand why she had experienced that sudden, sharp pain in her right ear. She had been careful to keep her deafness in her left ear a secret, even from Jiang Shu.

As she worked, Song Yu couldn't help but wonder if the pain was related to her existing condition. She had always been careful to hide her disability, fearing that Jiang Shu would see her as weak or vulnerable.

Meanwhile, Jiang Shu went about her day, her expression calm and collected. But beneath the surface, she was seething. She had seen the pain flash across Song Yu's face, and it had sparked a mixture of emotions within her. Concern, yes, but also a sense of control. She knew that Song Yu was hiding something from her, and it only added to her determination to keep Song Yu under her thumb.

As the day drew to a close, Song Yu and Jiang Shu met up again, their conversation polite but strained. Song Yu didn't mention the pain in her ear, and Jiang Shu didn't ask. They both knew that some secrets were better left unspoken.

....

As the days passed ,the met gala was near, and Song Yu found herself growing more and more uneasy. The pain in her ear had subsided, but she couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. She tried to focus on her work, but her mind kept wandering back to Jiang Shu's calm, collected mask.

What was she hiding? And why did Song Yu feel like she was walking on eggshells around her?

One night, as they were ready for dinner , Song Yu caught a glimpse of Jiang Shu's phone. It was lying on the counter, the screen lit up with a text message.

Song Yu's curiosity got the better of her, and she reached out to grab the phone. But Jiang Shu was too quick, snatching it away before Song Yu could see anything.

"What are you doing?" Jiang Shu asked, her voice cold and detached.

Song Yu felt a surge of frustration. Why was Jiang Shu being so secretive? What was she hiding?

"I just wanted to see the time," Song Yu lied, trying to sound nonchalant.

Jiang Shu raised an eyebrow. "You have your own phone," she pointed out. "Use that."

The conversation was dropped, but Song Yu couldn't shake the feeling that Jiang Shu was hiding something from her. And she was determined to find out what it was.

Song Yu tried to push the feeling aside, but it only seemed to grow stronger. She began to notice little things about Jiang Shu's behavior, tiny inconsistencies in her story. A faint scar on her hand, which she claimed was from a childhood accident. A hesitant pause before answering a question.

It was all so subtle, but Song Yu's instincts were screaming at her to pay attention. She felt like she was living with a stranger, someone who was hiding secrets behind a mask of calm control.

One night, Song Yu decided to confront Jiang Shu. She waited until they were alone in their bedroom, the door locked and the curtains drawn.

"Jiang Shu, can I ask you something?" Song Yu said, trying to keep her voice steady.

Jiang Shu looked up from her book, her expression neutral. "What is it?"

Song Yu took a deep breath. "I feel like you're hiding something from me. Something important."

Jiang Shu's expression didn't change, but her eyes seemed to flash with a warning. "I don't know what you're talking about," she said, her voice cold.

Song Yu felt a surge of frustration. Why was Jiang Shu denying it? What was she so afraid of?

But she knew better than to push Jiang Shu too far. She backed off, trying to reassure herself that it was all just her imagination.

But the feeling lingered, a nagging sense of unease that she couldn't shake.

....

Song Yu's eyes narrowed. She knew that Jiang Shu was hiding something, and she was determined to find out what it was. But as she looked into Jiang Shu's eyes, she saw nothing but a cold, calculating gaze.

It was a reminder that their marriage was just a contract, a business arrangement with no room for emotions. Song Yu felt a pang of disappointment, but she pushed it aside. She had known what she was getting into when she agreed to this marriage.

"Fine," Song Yu said, standing up. "But know that I will find out what's going on, Jiang Shu. And when I do, there will be consequences."

Jiang Shu raised an eyebrow, but said nothing. She simply turned and walked away, leaving Song Yu to seethe with frustration.

Their contract marriage was supposed to be simple, a mutually beneficial arrangement. But now, Song Yu was starting to realize that nothing about their relationship was simple at all.
