Chapter 1

"I am the Queen of Darkness. A warrior.  That is what I am and nothing can change that. I was born basically an orphan. My name is Kiera. My parents died right after my birth. When they died I inherited the throne. My advisors kept the spotlight and some of the decision making to themselves until I was old enough I took the throne at the ripe age of 16. I am the youngest to take the throne. I am now twenty and I will be the youngest to start a council of Queens to compete with the council of kings that the Light Fae have. I have told you a little of my life because you will find out sooner or later. Some may think I am arrogant. Wrong, I am just stating the facts. As you may have already noticed. I do not let emotions cloud my judgement. I am calculating every decision. If you find my demeanor cold then I apologize in advance. Now I would like all of you to introduce yourselves to the council, say your age and your kingdoms. This council will be called 'The Council of the Dark Queens'." I nod my head at the first person. All the women here are beautiful, but we can also kill anything. We are the fiercest, strongest, and yet the prettiest of our kingdoms that is why we have stayed in our positions for so long. "My name is Eira. I am 22. Queen of the Ice Fae. I will forever be grateful for this council." She nods her head at me and takes her seat. Eira had an amazing contrast with her dark ebony skin with long  straight white as snow hair, and icy blue eyes. She is tall and skinny. Her dress was a beautiful icy blue gown, which compliments her in every way. The next girl to stand is a very tan girl with wavy dark brown hair. Her dress is a dark blue sea color. She is average height with a few curves. Her eyes are brown with flecks of gold and dark blue. "My name is Keres. I am Queen of the Unseelie at the age of 21. I am also very grateful for this council. We are known as the outcast, but no more." I am very grateful too. I am sick and tired of the Light Fae getting everything. " I am Aella. I am the Queen of the Wind Fae. We are forever in your debt. Oh, I am also 22" Aella sits down. She is a short, probably five one, curvy girl, but she could probably slice all of us up in a second. Aella is a brown short haired girl with peachy skin and forest green eyes. She wears a dress that reminds me of the wind. It's flowy and a sort of see through, but you can't see her under its almost like a gost. That is the last girl to introduce  themselves. I stand and show them the side that I hardly let anyone see. The side that still has a heart. I smile as I say "I am forever grateful as well. I would love it if we all could be friends. I know it is strange for most of us since we all are very different, but we all have one thing in common. We want to outdo the Light Fae. We are just as strong as the Light Fae. We may even be stronger because we are women and we can take care of ourselves. I would like it if every two years each of our kingdoms hosted a ball that included the Light Fae. Yes I understand some of you may be a little hesitant that is why I will do it the first two years. We shall show the Light Fae council of men that we can and will be superior if they do not treat us as equals. We will show them that the Dark Fae are not evil!" the last word came out as a sort of a command. A split second of fear fitted through me as I waited for something to happen. The just as fast as it came the fear left when all the Queens around me cheered and yelled hallelujah. For the first time in my life I felt like a true leader. My parents had died because of me. I am the strongest in the line of Dark Fae so far. A rogue Light Fae had come to assassinate me. Of course he failed, but he killed my parents instead and escaped with just his life. The Light had still not apologized, but they did declare the Rogue Light Fae as never a Light Fae again, but that doesn't mean anything except that he's banished. I shall never show a Light Fae weakness ever. Especially a male. "Alright everyone time to plan the ball." Eira said. "Since the Ball will be at Queen Kiera's palace lets do a midnight themed ball." Keres suggested. "Kiera is fine, and I love that idea. Each king from the Light Kings Counsil shall only bring their highest and most trusted gaurd. Is everyone in agreement?" Everyone nods their head at my question. "Alright everyone is dismissed. The ball will commence in a few days. Talk to my seamstresses about what kind of gown you want. Everyone please do not disrupt the ball. If there are any problems such as inappropriateness then I give you permission to hit them once and that is it. I will tell the Light Kings that if they do anything wrong that you are allowed to hurt them." With that they bowed their heads out of respect and left toward their chambers. I return to my chamber to change into my training gear. As I am changing I look into my mirror to see a reminisce of the innocence I once had. All I see staring back is a porcelain skinned girl with hair black as night and curls that run wild. My eyes are almost as black as the shadows that I control. I put on a white jumpsuit and head to the palaces training area. I'm wearing combat boots that my army wears. I am the highest commander in my army. I do not just sit idle while my army fights. My thoughts have started burn in my body. With a twirl of my fingers I create a clone of myself out of the shadows surrounding me. I keep this place dark for that very reason. The clone Icreated will do everything I do. I did it because my greatest enemy is myself. I swing, she swings back, I block her swing, and she blocks mine. We dance around eachother and fight until I miss the block from myself and almost get knocked out. I lay on the ground as my clone disappears into the shadows. I close my eyes and just imagine what life would be like if my parents were still here. I would be happy and not so cold. I would be friends with the Light Fae. Ugh I shivered at that thought. The light Fae are entitled jerks. I will never like and Fate forbid love one.

Watching from somewhere unknown was the Fate named lena. She laughed at Kiera's declaration. "Oh, dear, you are in for a surprise." She whispers with grandmotherly love. Lena disappears without a trace of her existence.
