Waking up one morning, as I sat on the king-sized bed in my luxurious cell, I found myself gazing blankly at the wall, lost in thought. "Three more days, huh?" I mused to myself. "I'll miss this place, but before I leave, let me destroy everything in one swoop."
Keeping my foggy sleepiness in mind, I mustered the energy to rise from my bed and shuffled toward the bathroom. As I made my way through the dimly lit cell block, I couldn't help but notice the respectful gestures of my fellow inmates. Each one of them, upon catching sight of me, humbly lowered their heads in a sign of respect.
My morning routine unfolded as it typically did. After I had completed my bathroom rituals, instead of going back to my cell block to hang out with other inmates, I went to the warden's office. Inside, I approached the warden and asked if I could use his phone.
Dialling my mother's number, I delivered the message that she shouldn't bother coming to pick me up upon my release.
