Chapter 30: That Makes Two of Us
One of the things Reesa liked about Myko was how intentional he was, even down to how he phrased his beliefs.
This was also one of the traits she disliked about him.
“Why did you do that?” she asked, brushing past him as he laughed. “I honestly thought you hated it.”
“Then you do my taste a disservice,” Myko said, his eyes shining with mirth. “Aww, I really am sorry. Forgive me?”
“Not yet, and don’t even think about getting a hug from me right now.”
“What? That’s going too far.”
“So did you and your little word game. What makes ‘stunning’ surpass ‘good’ anyway?”
“Simple,” he said and sat on the wicker sofa. “Art that’s merely ‘good’ doesn’t move people. It doesn’t inspire emotions and memories. I’ve seen other paintings of this view, but none of them made me feel like yours.”
“You’re only saying that because you—never mind. You’re biased.”
“Why didn’t you finish the other sentence?”
“Because I didn’t want to. You’re annoying.”
