CHAPTER 10: PLAN GONE WRONG

PLAN GONE WRONG

Sitting on his black leather seat in the office, Richmond raised his hands rubbing them hard against his eyes, easing the tension from them.

"Everyday, I got so much work to do, sometimes i wonder why I got workers when I do most of the work myself," he muttered under his breath.

It wasn't lunch break yet but he was tired of working and extremely hungry, he didn't have breakfast before coming to work and the new game was still in development and that means more stress and less time to rest.

"Sir!" I brought coffee for you," the secretary said as she walked into the office with a tray with a jug filled with coffee, a white coffee mug and some biscuits in a white fancy looking mini plate.

He looked at the items in her hands, he raised his eyebrows when he looked at her face and saw her smiling at him.

Nowadays his secretary had been smiling at him a lot, not that it was bad but he didn't see any reason why she would be so happy to see him.

The way he was looking at his secretary was making her feel shy and small, the silence in the room was deafening and akward, she dropped the items on his black mahogany table and turned to leave.

He looked at the items on his table, "I didn't ask you to do anything for me," he said not showing any gratitude to her.

The smile on her face faltered, "Sir, I was just looking out for my boss, you have been working ever since you came in and as your secretary, I decided to get coffee for you," did I do anything wrong sir?" She said coyly, staring at him confidently in the eyes.

She smiled and looked away from the gaze.

Richmond was not comfortable with the way she stared, is she making a move on me? He thought to himself before brushing it aside.

I may be overthinking, she is just doing her job, he cleared his throat and said in his deep voice, "thank you, I actually needed this," he reached for the tray.

But the secretary took it away from his reach and held it in her hands, Richmond was shocked by her action infact he was irritated by it, he narrowed his eyes at her angrily, "what gave you the right to pull such a stunt Sandy? He bellowed loud.

He was still wary about her smiles and the coffee, now she believes they were equals, he thought angrily.

Sandy gave him a small smile, "I didn't mean to make you angry sir but as your secretary I thought I should be the one to pour the coffee for you," she said meekly, her voice was very low and soft.

Richmond felt bad for doubting her, he overreacted, she was just doing her job afterall a secretary job was to make sure everything go smoothly with her boss and in the office.

His expression softened and he relaxed into his seat and allowed her do her thing, he watched as she poured the coffee into the cup and brought it closer to him.

After serving she left the office as he was busy chewing on the biscuits.

She smiled widely, her steps filled with confidence as she walked back to her seat, It won't be long before he falls for me, afterall he is a man and there is no man with blood running through his veins that will be able to resist her, she thought to herself.

As a billionaire and a good looking man, it was no wonder that he was most eligible man sought after by many women, even when the FMITW fitness company did an online poll to ask people who do they think was the finest billionaire alive, Richard Ashver was named number one in the poll.

Women always try to catch his attention anytime he goes to one of his high class events but he ignores them all.

Richmond exhaled loudly as his back screamed in protest after straining it, he had been too focused with his work that he forgot to take his lunch, although the coffee and the biscuits helped in reducing his hunger before, now his stomach was grumbling loud.

He needed to call his secretary and tell her to get him his lunch.

He rubbed his stomach as if to tell it to be patient, Richmond reached for the intercom in his office and called his secretary but she wasn't picking up.

He frowned his face, he called again using the intercom but she wasn't picking until he heard his name, the voice wasn't loud but faint as if the person was whispering, saying something that they didn't want other to know.

From the direction of the voice he could tell the person was in the elevator, it was his secretary.

Sandy had noticed that her boss hasn't eaten yet, she decided to get him his favorite meal from his restaurant.

She has been working with him for two months now and doesn't know what is inside the small flask of food, she brings for her boss every time he orders her.

She had noticed he doesn't eat from the posh restaurant across the office but eats food from a local restaurant far away from the office.

But the strangest thing he ordered her not to do, he told her never to look into flask on no account, although she was curious about its contents but she wanted to get close to him first, hopefully he will open up to her.

She was holding a bag which contains the flask until her phone rang and she picked the call, it was her friend Olivia.

Sandy was happy to hear from her friend and they exchanged pleasantries.

She entered into the elevator while still on call.

"So how is it going with Rich boy? Olivia asked curiously.

Sandy sighed sadly, "I don't know, I have been dressing in my finest wears, making myself look pleasing to his eyes, doing things in the office that should make a normal man fall for me but in Mr Richmond's case, it's not working," she said feeling defeated.

Until she remembered his handsomeness and the money she will get if she manage to get his attention and she became more determined, "but I haven't given up hope yet, I will make sure he falls for me, my next plan is what I call a full blown seduction," she said firmly.

Sandy stepped out of the elevator when it stopped at the fifth floor, the phone still in her hand pressed against her ear.

"Good for you girl, go after your man," Olivia cheered for her friend.

"Sorry to call you when you are still working but I was bored and I needed to talk to my bestie," Olivia said, feeling a bit apologetic.

"No worries, I am alone and is not like Mr Richmond can hear me," she said, laughing softly.

She laughed, not knowing someone was eavesdropping on her conversation, her job was on the line.

But she didn't know that Richmond wasn't an ordinary person but a werewolf living in disguise.

He smirked darkly, he was going to fire her not because he was scared of entering her trap but because she had lost her focus, he employed her because he thought she was smart and had a smile that will make his office look good.

But she was just like his previous secretaries that thought they could get close to him and steal his heart, he sacked them right away.

He shook his head in disappointment, he thought she was going to be different, he brought out sheet of paper and an envelope, preparing her resignation letter.

Sandy knocked on his door and entered the office when she heard his voice telling her to come in.

She smiled as she stood in front of his table, holding the bag in her hands.

He was dipping a paper into an envelope, he noticed the bag in her hands, "is that my food?" He asked, already perceiving the scent coming from the bag.

She nodded her head, "let me have that," he said and collected the bag from her before handing the envelope to her.

Sandy was confused when she read the contents of the letter while he was looking at her sternly.

"Sir, I don't understand, why am I being fired," she said her voice wavering.

Richmond sighed, "what is the reason stated in that paper?" He said seriously, his eyes were as hard as stone.

She shivered in fear, she was going to lose her job, "it says here that I misbehaved but I still don't understand, how did I misbehave? She stammered, her voice was shaking as tears threatened to fall from her eyes.

But Richmond wasn't moved, "you just had a phone call with your friend not quiet long and you were telling her that you were going to seduce me," he scoffed harshly.

"Is that what I employed you to do, does the company look like a joke to you or do I look like a joke to you?" He pointed to the door, in a very harsh tone he said, "see yourself out."

But Sandy wasn't ready to walk away yet, how did he know? There was no way he could have known, there was no CCTV camera around the area, he must be bluffing, she thought and squared her shoulders.

She summoned confidence, "Sir, it is not possible, I didn't tell my friend anything, just say you want to fire me than for you to make up lies against me, but I promise you that the world is going to hear how Richmond Ashvery abused his power and sacked an employee for no reason," she lied, if she couldn't have him she would make sure she spoil his reputation.

Richmond smirked and shook his head, her true nature was revealing itself, she was a liar, a pretender and a gold digger, he can't believe he allowed her to be his secretary for a whole two months without noticing her vile nature, he felt repulsed with Sandy and felt angry with himself for hiring someone like her.

He turned his computer and showed her a clip of the phone call she had with her friend, Sandy was surprised and became ashamed of herself.

"Now about this, you leave my company and never show yourself around me again," he said sternly.

Richmond smiled inwardly, he had secret cameras placed inside the air conditioners and the walls, although he didn't need them but people were so stubborn and like evidences to be shown to them before they will leave.

Sandy was in tears as she was cried, hoping Richmond will have mercy on her and allow her remain as his secretary but Richmond was past having mercy after the stunt she tried to pull on him.

He knew she was just crying crocodile tears and it was irritating his sensitive ears, "leave my office now," he bellowed angrily, his nails were trying to elongate, it wanted to tear her to pieces.

She begged and begged but he refused, he called his security men to drag her away, she was shouting and kicking about as they took her away.

Sandy left the office in shame and embarrassment.

He felt if he hasn't called the security guards, he will have done something to Sandy that would have scarred her for life.

After he made sure his secretary was out of his office premises, Richmond shook his head not expecting the day to turn out like this, because of Sandy issue, he had forgotten he hasn't eaten yet.

He had to start looking for a replacement, they were files containing the list of potential applicants for the job of a secretary.

He came across so many names and saw their profiles, they all had clean records but they were too polished, he didn't need another person like Sandy in his office that thought she was good enough for him.

He searched until he came across a person, her name was Anne Mccody, she was twenty four, she had blond hair, her eyes were covered by big glasses, she looked different from the rest, almost like she didn't want anybody to notice her, she just wants to be on her own, not wanting to attract anyone's attention.

She looked like a typical nerd.

Luckily she was already working in one of his branches, Capital Q as a store keeper but that doesn't matter.

He wanted her as his secretary.
