"What are they talking about?" Calen asked Ethan while I was still talking with the lizardman.

"From what I can tell they don't like humans much," Ethan answered without looking at him, "Wyatt is trying to persuade them to help us with the spiders."

"How can you tell all that?" he seemed to listen in to my conversation with the lizardman.

"I have access to Wyatt's mind so I have a rough idea of what he's saying," Ethan answered in a tone that clearly indicated he no longer wanted to speak.

*"I do not want their settlement to fall," I debated on pointing my tail at Calen like the lizardman had, "They have helped me greatly in the last few months, and I would prefer to see you work together instead of destroying each other."

*"I don't want to teach these creatures of yours our way," he snorted, "They couldn't learn it."

*"You should allow them to show you whether they are worthy or not," my scales went up slowly, "We come from the same world so I like to hope that they could grow to handle your level of strength."

*"I will consider it," he snorted as he looked over Calen once again.

"He's ready to consider an alliance," I glanced over to Calen.

"I would like to thank you for considering an alliance with us," Calen bowed slightly since he didn't seem to want to shake the lizardman's hand.

I translated for him.

*"Respect is earned," the lizardman snarled slightly.

"I plan to earn that respect," he kept glancing at me.

*"So you weaklings wish to aid us in fighting the queen?" the lizardman thumped his tail on the ground.

"I hope that we can come to a common understanding by fighting alongside each other," Calen stayed formal throughout the entire conversation.

The lizardmen might be tribal in appearance. With their long leather loincloths, and various armbands, but they didn't appear to be unreasonable. We all knew what would happen if this interaction went wrong.

*"I believe that two days time would be the best time to launch an attack," I straightened slowly.

*"Why two days?" the lizardman asked.

*"I will be ready to join the fight in two days," My toothy grin sent a chill up the spine of the humans there, *"I'd rather be part of the fight then sit on the sidelines."

The lizardman nodded, *"Perhaps you would like to meet our priestess in the meantime."

*"No," I snorted, *"I would rather stay with the allies I know while I'm recovering."

The lizardman nodded again before issuing orders to gather forces from all the nearby villages. I relayed the information back to the guild leader before walking back toward the settlement. I was still far too worn out to deal with whatever this priestess lady wanted. I was under the impression she was the one that knew of dragons. I flicked my tail casually as I walked.

People at the gates cleared the way for me. I was glad they were at least trying to act like my allies. I knew some of them still really didn't like me. I needed to test the limits of what the spiders could take damage wise. My mana being sealed off for the time being wasn't helping me all that much.

I guess it wasn't sealed off, but the damage to my core was limiting what I could do with magic greatly. My body felt fine though so I should be able to kill off a few with some brute force. I went back to the walls after a short nap, and killed all the spiders that had come close to the walls. The people along the walls were nice enough to not scorn me or give me any dirty looks when I came back. Those that disliked me had fallen into a sort of quiet grimace.

Those that were neutral to me were starting to see me as a legitimate ally. Aurora was in the warehouse having a very animated, and childish discussion with the boy I'd suggested she should bond with. Her mother stood by very nervously with Goliath as the two of them talked. Aurora rested her head on the boy's shoulder as he showed her one of his comics. I could feel her pulsing magic into him slowly with each of his heart beats.

His complexion was actually looking a bit better. It was hard to tell that he was pale before since he was constantly pale. I thought that was his normal appearance. She was trying to be covert about it. Just as I'd thought she'd taken a liking to the boy.

It didn't feel like they were bonded yet though, but Aurora's dropped guard told me that she was well on her way to forming a bond. She was just waiting for the boy. Her white scales looking almost sky blue in the light of the blue sun. I laid down slowly in the back corner. My recovery was going well.

Just one day left until the assault began. Now that the fight was close I could see the tension starting to rise in Aurora. She wanted to be included in the fight. I didn't want to include her, but since we were going to be focused on air support I relented. Allowing her to fight as a backline healer instead of letting her go to the front lines where I planned to go.

Goliath agreed with my decision. Aurora was a rare life dragon. Her affinity with light would make her a valuable healer as she grew older. I tapped my talons on the pavement. One by one to a tune I couldn't quite remember.

I should summon Gaia. The random thought caught me off guard. This entire line of thought was different from the way I normally thought. Although I didn't disagree with the thought of summoning Gaia. Gaia was many times stronger then I was.

If she retained that strength when summoned to other worlds then she would be far too valuable not to summon. I looked through my stats. I clenched my teeth. I didn't have enough mana to summon her without using my wrath skill. I wasn't used to triggering my wrath.
