the apocalypse done right

I was the last human alive... the rest were killed or bitten, but hey, I guess I should explain how I got into this mess huh?

it was August 25 2022 when all this went down. the source of the zombies was never confirmed however some were led to believe it was an experiment gone wrong.

the military fell in a matter of days, and the human population was going down faster than a person falling down the stairs.

survival shelters were a false hope as they were destroyed by either human for resources or zombies for food.

guns and ammo were precious, and if you knew how to make them, then you will be out to work, in producing them.

that wasn't even the worst that could happen to you though, the worst was being eaten by the zombies, which was going to happen to her.

she laid on the ground, devoid of stamina waiting to be killed. however, she opened her eyes to the sound of an alarm.

sitting up immediately I looked at the sound of the noise. I looked at the fully functional alarm clock and my eyes went wide with shock.

the alarm said it was August 18, 2022, one week before the apocalypse. she got out of bed and immediately went outside and looked around the city.

beautiful... after only seeing death and destruction for years, looking at this city was like being in heaven.

she went back inside her apartment and looked in her cabinets of food and quickly began to cook. she began eating but she didn't notice her sister behind her.

"Did something happen to you," she asked as she began to push her wheelchair towards the table.

turning around and seeing her younger sister Anna, she held in her tears and walked slowly and gave her one of the biggest hugs she could.

Anna hugged her sister with a little hesitation, she didn't know what happened to her sister but she knew it was bad.

(Anna foster: died in the early days of the apocalypse. turned into a zombie and Diana had to put her down.)

I stayed there hugging her for a couple of minutes before getting a phone call which turned out to be from my employer.

"your thirty minutes late," I heard over the phone.

"I quit," was all I said before hanging up, and Anna looked at me shocked.

"I thought you needed that job," she said with a shocked expression.

"That's what you thought," I said rubbing her head.

the only reason me and Anna survived this long was that our parents were multi-millionaires, and they gave us millions of dollars to not go public.

"We don't want the public to know about her deformity," was what I heard before they left us in this apartment.

they left me with a 9-year-old Anna and I was only twelve. I grew up and graduated high school and I'm now 19 and Anna is 16.

"I'll be right back," I said to Anna as I grabbed my keys and went to my car, however, something else greeted me

she was so shocked that her neighbor honks his horn to catch her attention. she finally snapped out of her trance and started driving to a nearby big five.

she came here for a specific... tool that will help her in the long run. entering the store she began to look around and finally found both of the items.

the Etool and an ice axe. both weapons are good for many scenarios. she grabbed both items and purchased them and left.

The next place she went to was Walmart and she bought a generator, and with that, she went home and placed them in their apartment.

to which her sister looked at the items in horror.

"Why do you have these," she exclaimed as she grabbed the ice pick, which was extremely sharp.

I pat her head and said, "don't worry. we'll be going somewhere tomorrow so be ready."

"we're are we going," she asked.

"our new home," I responded.

day one was very eventful, I got weapons and a free base. tomorrow I was going to worry about food and then finally other necessities.

I went to sleep feeling safe for the first time in my second life. the alarm woke me up again but this time I was used to it. I looked at the bunker Alfa on my map, and I had to say it was in a really good spot.

it was close enough for me to loot and kill zombies while far enough away from the center of the city.

I got out of bed and took the generator to the trunk of the car and then went and grabbed the tool I bought and put them in the trunk.

I went to Anna's room and gently without waking her up carried her to the car and put her in the passenger seat. I packed all the clothes we had and anything valuable.

I turned on the car and that got Anna awake.

"where are we going," she said groggily.

"to our new house," I said driving towards the bunker location. when I appeared outside of it I had to say I was impressed.

it was in the alleyway but it was an extremely easy place to defend. to enter the bunker you needed my fingerprint and saliva. I went back to the car and took Anna inside and I was blown away by how it looked.

"What is this place," asked Anna in awe.

"This is our home. it has a built-in air filter, so we don't need to worry about air," I explained reading the description of it.

"Welcome ... Diana to your bunker," I heard a voice say.

it seemed this place had an A.I. from the description, and although it said it 100 percent won't try and kill me I didn't trust it.

"There's a t.v. there along with some stuff. this place has an inbuilt service provider so free wifi," I explained as I went to grab all the stuff from the car.

after unloading all the items I then went around the city and bought all the non-perishable food. from crackers to all the noddles I could find.

another thing I did was *cough Steal cough* a parked truck full of soda. I bought a washing machine and other stuff.

I went back to the bunker and made sure to seal all the food properly so it won't go so bad, and of course, placed the soda I got into the fridge room.

I took Anna some food and after I took her a shower and we went to sleep. today was a very eventful day.

she slept for a while before waking up and leaving a note for Anna saying she would be back.

since the bunker has service and wifi I went to the nearest phone store and bought the newest Samsung, with one terabyte of memory and the max ram, and a laptop.

she also bought headphones for the phone and began downloading all the music she could. the next thing she wanted to do was get a bunch of weapons to fill the armory.

using her laptop she hacked into the gun shop and disabled the camera's and finally pulled up the back of the store.

unlocking the doors was easy for someone like her. she entered the back of the place and noticed it full of weapons and ammo. she placed everything in her inventory and left, not leaving any evidence of her robbing this place.

she left the place with

after that raid, she felt very good about herself. after parking her car she entered the bunker after making sure no one was looking.

after she returned she placed all the guns in the armory and she hung out with her sister before it was bedtime.

this bed was the most comfortable bed she was in a long time. she fell asleep almost immediately.

waking up in the morning she cooked breakfast for Anna and put It by her bed so she wouldn't have to get up.

she left the remote for Anna and went back outside the bunker and into her car. I drove to the nearest CVS and Walgreens and bought all the medicine she would need.

she totally didn't hack the CCTV and robbed the place with her cotton gloves. she took the supplies and put them in the storage for safekeeping.

I then went to the nearest home Depot and bought two machetes and two Bowie knives and I put one of them behind my back and the rest in the bunker.

now that the bunker was stacked with items she would need for survival, now it was time for things they would need.

tomorrow came quickly and she got a couple of different kinds of clothes that would work well in the apocalypse. motorcycle jackets and I got many different kinds for Anna too.

I passed by a GameStop and bought all the consoles, games, and controllers with a swipe of my card.

I went back and put all the consoles next to the t.v. and went to Anna who was at the table eating cereal.

her eyes lit up when she saw me, then they became weird.

"Are you preparing for an apocalypse or something," she said jokingly.

I laughed and pat her head, "you have no idea."

we went to ... I guess we can call it the living room and turned on the t.v. and watched the news.

"Recent reports are saying that a weapons shop and multiple pharmaceuticals we're recently broken into and stolen," the reporter stated before continuing.

"The cameras we're all shut down and so far the police have no leads and the number of weapons that were stolen is currently unknown.

on a side note the mayor's daughter violet is currently reaching out for help with a certain something... she only said that all you had to do was hack into her phone and the reward will be given," the reporter said shocked.

I rolled my eyes, and out of boredom, I grabbed my laptop with Anna looking at me with a confused expression.

the hacking of the phone was easy, the firewalls she had multiple people make were a walk in the park. the people in the apocalypse were way better than these people.

(meanwhile with the violet)

all hell was breaking loose, she said to hack into the phone because she was told it was impossible. she had experts in the field build them.

so imagine her shock when she received a message on her screen with an emoji and under said.

"towns park tomorrow at noon come alone."

after receiving the shock of her life, she hesitantly tapped into the screen and the message disappeared, what followed was a bunch of music being downloaded.

she tried to stop all of it but it was no use. it was like she was Locked out of her phone.

this was the most fun, after Anna got out of the shock that her sister could hack she then wanted to try it.

I said go ahead. she wanted to meet the daughter, because as she put it "I need friends."

so I set up a little playdate for the two and went back to ransacking the neighborhood. I found another way to level up too.

killing criminals. of course, it was unintentional but when you live in an apocalypse for a long time you get that kill or be killed instinct.

so when she felt a large hand on her should she stabbed the person straight in the heart. I blinked a little to get it out of my head.

after getting clean I went to the nearest grocery store and stole all the soda and drinks, and I stole the only working McDonald's ice cream machine and soda dispenser.

the public will be mad that I stole the only working ice cream machine, but I could care less.

after returning home I connected the machines to the bunker so we could get all the soda we wanted and ice cream.

...and then I slept.

I woke up around 8 am and made breakfast for Anna and me, and we ate in peace. Anna looked ready for her playdate and she looked fidgety.

I showed Anna the ice cream machine and soda machine. we ate ice cream until it was time for us to leave.

I took Anna's wheelchair and carried her to the car and I drove us to the town's park. which was about five minutes away.

after arriving I took down Anna's wheelchair and put her in her wheelchair and I pushed her towards the nearby seat.

"When will she be coming," she asked excitedly.

I looked at my computer and looked at the location of her phone.

"ten seconds," I said as a car pulled up.

a girl around the age of 17 stepped out of the vehicle with a cap and sunglasses, to hide her identity.

she began to look around until she saw us, and I waved letting her know that It was I who sent the message.

she reluctantly approached us and sat down to not act suspicious.

"what do you want from me," she said trying to keep her face calm.

"my sister here wanted to meet you, and you made the perfect arrangement," I said as I pulled out my phone.

"then how did you guys hack into my phone," she asked with a pout.

"it was pretty easy," Anna said, "after my sister taught me."

she looked at me nervously and scooted away a bit.

I stayed there watching Anna making friends with violet. they both had the same kind of personality so they got along quite well.

I took Anna home and I went out and robbed all the stores not caring about leaving evidence. of course, I left most of the city alone, I just prioritized weapons, katanas, water, and ammo.

I knew I had to hurry because when the clock hits 10 that's when the zombies come. the number of guns I got this time was higher than the gun shop I raided.

and I had almost 30,000 rounds of ammunition. I entered the bunker and put all the guns away and I entered the building above our bunker with a sniper, connected my earphones to my phone, played music, and waited for the world to descend into chaos.

I started at the last peaceful moon anyone would ever see. I could see the cop cars outside of all the places I robbed.

... 6 am nothing. At 7 am, people left for work, at 8 am people walked. and at 9 am, the street was almost filled with people. ...10 am, nothing... 10: 30 screams started erupting from around the city.

"and so it starts," I said flicking my joint into the panicking crowd.
