New era

Nie Li greeted him and led the entire group to a large table. When they sat down Nie Li introduced everyone to each other. Girls sat together, next to Nie Zexi sat Ne Wen, and the rest of the boys next to him. Ning'er and Ziyun sat next to each other. After greetings ended Nie Li took the floor.

"This is our first meeting and let's hope that there would be more in the future. In these meetings, we will discuss topics that interest us. From cultivation to demon beasts, from history to politics. We share knowledge to advance faster together. For example, today's subject matter is Ancient Languages. I am sharing this knowledge, hoping to learn more in the future from you."

Everyone looked confused. They just expected Nie Li to teach them something. Instead, he said that they would teach each other. They didn't know what they will teach when their turn comes.

"I'm not saying that everyone must teach something in turns. I am saying that we have experts in different fields among us. If we share knowledge with each other we advance faster as a group." He paused allowing them to contemplate.

Even though none of them are experts in any fields right now, they will be in the future. He can't be everywhere at once. He needs highly skilled specialists in as many fields as possible. Only this way he can save Glory City and defeat Sage Emperor. Being considered experts in their fields will raise their confidence in themselves and they will work harder.

The only problem is knowledge. But the knowledge he will provide. Because this is his team. The stronger they are, the stronger he is.

"Think about it. But later. Right now, we have our first lesson on ancient languages and I need all your attention."

"During the Age of Darkness, too much knowledge was lost, and now we're on the brink of survival. Maybe if we bring back some of that knowledge, we will begin a new era of human prosperity in this world."

His friends, yes he considered all of them his friends, were dumbfounded. They didn't expect Nie Li to feel so passionate about it. They assumed that he wanted to teach them so that he won't have to translate them himself but never considered the scope of knowledge those books contained. He is basically offering them an entire world!

Seeing the spark that appeared in their eyes Nie Li was satisfied. In his previous life and in this one it really annoyed him. After absorbing Robert's memories, his feelings only intensified. Why humans must huddle in the corners of the world hiding from Demon beasts. They are just animals. They must reach at least the Black gold rank before awakening their spiritual wisdom, even then they would have the intellect of a human child at most. Of course, they get smarter if they cultivate further, but in this world where cultivation is limited to the legend rank how they were able to defeat humanity, Nie Li couldn't understand.

More than likely one of the Spiritual gods of the demon race played a role. That demon beast reaching above the Legend rank could be the Ice spiritual god Zhu Long. But that means in the novel after Nie Li left for the Draconic Ruins Realm, Glory City was left defenseless, especially considering the possibility of Nether Spiritual god's death. Who knows if Glory City will survive till the moment Nie Li can return to Tiny World five years later. They must gather as many powers of law as they can in the human hands before leaving for Draconic Ruins Realm. But releasing Yu Yan from her prison too early could be a problem as well. And that's a thought for another day. Right now he must concentrate on the present.

He looked towards his friends. They are now his team. And he will help them to get strong. So he began explaining the intricacies of the language, and his friends enthusiastically absorbed the knowledge. With them being cultivators they had excellent memories. It will allow them to learn the language quite easily. By Nie Li's estimates, they would be able to learn the Woodland Empire era language in two months and Sacred Empire era language in another two.

Maybe he will teach Snow Wind Empire language after that because humanity was at its height during that time, and techniques and inscriptions created in that period were the strongest.

When he ended the lesson, his friends began discussing it among themselves. Seeing them getting comfortable with each other, Nie Li was glad. Even Xiao Ning'er and Ye Ziyun were discussing something with Nie Zexi. Nie Li joined his friends, and after some time of talking, they began dispersing. When they were leaving Nie Li asked Ye Ziyun and Nie Zexi to stay.

Xiao Ning'er looked interested but didn't want to impose, so began leaving. Seeing that Ye Ziyun also didn't want her newly regained childhood friend to leave, Nie Li asked her to stay as well. He wanted to give Nie Zexi and Ye Ziyun new cultivation techniques. They were the only ones who didn't have one in their group.

"Sister Zexi, Ye Ziyun, I wanted to give both of you a suitable cultivation technique," said Nie Li simply. "Before you ask, Xiao Ning'er already has one."

Now they were looking at Xiao Ning'er with curiosity, causing her to blush. Ye Ziyun was wondering where and how Nie Li and Xiao Ning'er met. Nie Zexi, on the other hand, wanted to know how close Nie Li and Xiao Ning'er were. She thought Nie Li liked Ye Ziyun, that's why he wanted to get close to her, but him acting comfortably around another girl made her doubt her guesses. Was she wrong? Did Nie Li just want to help her classmate? Or, she looked at him suspiciously, did he want to chase both girls?

"Firstly, I want to test your innate talent to find the best technique for you." Nie Li took out two soul crystals from his interspatial ring and held them out to the girls, "Pour your soul force into it".

'Innate talent?' Ye Ziyun was curious. Her grandfather used a special technique to test her affinity before choosing a technique for her. Would it be like that too? She hoped not, because she didn't want to allow Nie Li to touch her. Then she looked at Xiao Ning'er. She wouldn't allow it either, would she?
