Chapter 1- Voice

"Where am I?" I thought as I tried to remember what happened.

My head felt empty. I tried to look around to assess the situation. Yet, everything was dark. I felt like like I was floating in a mysterious void.

I tried to check if I was injured, but I couldn't touch my body. My hands were not responding, I felt like I was in a dream state. Except, that my mind was perfectly clear.

"Hello?" I tried to speak, but I couldn't. So I kept saying hello in my mind, over and over, as if anyone was going to answer me.

"Stop! I'm trying to finish reading your information. I'll get back to you when I'm done." I heard a voice say.

I felt kind of spooked to hear a voice out of nowhere, since subconsciously I came to the conclusion that I was alone in this void.

"Who are you?" I asked trying to keep calm and figure out my next move.

"I'm almost done just give me a sec," said the voice sounding irritated.

I guess that, it was trying to figure something out. Yet, I kept interrupting it. So I stayed quiet. That thing might be my way out of this situation, so I didn't want to anger it.

After approximately five minutes of waiting, the voice started talking again. "Forgive my previous behavior, you may call me Adam. Do you know who you are?" It asked.

"No," I answered bluntly expecting it to have an answer instead of myself. Yet, it didn't say anything so I waited until it did.

"I'm not an it, I'm a he." He clarified and in the process, forgetting to tell me who I was.

"Forgive me, your voice is a bit... genderless. Plus, I don't like to assume pronouns." I said with sincerity, since his voice was kind of high but also low at the same time... and, I just didn't want to assume in case I offended him.

"Doesn't matter," he stated. "Usually, people figure it out by the time I give them my name, but oh well, not everyone is smart I guess."

I felt kind of irritated by his comment, but I didn't say anything. Answers first, payback later.

"Forgive me, I didn't want to assume anything. Do you know who I am?" I calmly asked.

Then, I heard a, pop, sound go off in my head. Almost as If someone was popping a bubblegum.
