Chapter -› 1: Broken World

As the old Captain Nascimento used to say "the system is awesome!"

But little did he know how certain his words were.

It all started in 2015, when the first one was discovered.

But what was discovered?

The first Unusual.

Yes the first person with super powers was discovered.

This person was an Islamic terrorist who had the ability to blow up anything he touched.

His discovery was not a happy event, after all as a terrorist he was caught blowing things up.

Consequently killing thousands of people as well.

The decisive factor in discovering that he was not using explosives, but rather an Unusual with super powers, was the simple fact that he was a crazy lunatic... as he blew up everything he touched, tabem6 screamed.

"I am a God I have been blessed with a system... All hail the new god of this world."

He didn't even need to say that this caught the attention of everyone who heard those words.

Many scientific authorities and many governments, who noticed this strangeness, fought for the corpse.

No one knew who managed to dissect the poor guy from the corpse, it wasn't long before a second 'System' user appeared in the world.

At the time it was a calm day, like any other day, until all the media were hacked, whether computers, cell phones, TV's or radios.

All streamed in a single sync, a videos.

On TVs, cell phones and computers, the image of a hooded being wearing a V mask for revenge appeared.

On that day he proclaimed himself a system user, he also said what his system was, the [Hacking System].

His words were.

'The internet is no longer a lawless place, whether on Surface or Deep Web your nasty acts will be revealed'

On the same day, a lot of top secret information was spread all over the internet.

Many governments and powerful people were desperate, but nothing could be done.

Even if their intelligence agencies tried to cover or erase this information, it was impossible.

On that day, many governments around the world fell and many powerful people disappeared.

No one knew if they were erased, or if they ran away.

The user of the [Hack System], was acclaimed by all as a God.

Again a God!

Don't people get tired of it?

Right now 4 years have passed, in the meantime many people have awakened their 'systems'.

Some became famous and idolized people, others became powerful and feared people.

As the old saying went, "Give man power, and thou shalt see his true face." Or "with power comes great responsibilities" from the webhead's uncle.

But in the end not everything was beautiful, as humanity began to awaken its powers, enemies also began to appear.

Which in the case would be the dungeons.

Thousands of them appeared around the world.

Their sizes ranged from 100 kilometers deep to 100,000 kilometers deep.

What would be inside these dungeons?

Of course they would be monsters!

And monsters of the most varied species, from mutant mice, to Dragons and Phoenixes.

Within these dungeons, there were also humanoid beings, such as vampires, werewolves, elves and several other species with human characteristics.

It was as if inside every dungeon, there was a mini dimension.

In the beginning people were totally scared, but with the continuous awakening of the systems.

Little by little they lost their fear.

The number of people who had awakened their own system was huge, only a minority still remained inactive.

The variation was also exponentially well diversified.

Whoever wakes up a system would have a place in society, and whoever doesn't wake up...

Well that's up to your imagination.

Today is my 16th birthday, and oddly enough I still haven't awakened a system.

And like my previous years, I still can't help my family.

I finish writing the last sentence in my diary.

"Shit- this is fucking shit..."

Whoever was in my place would understand me, humanity was given a chance.

A chance to evolve.

Everywhere you went, you would see a system user, but you were one of the only people who hadn't awakened one.

This was depressing.

I tuck my smartphone into my pocket as I sigh sadly.

My steps tighten as I walk back to my house.

Reaching the corner, I move quickly so none of my neighbors notice me, and sneak into the house.

*Pa~*

After closing the door I turn to what appears to be a shadow.

Mother:"What are you doing my son?"

"Hahaha, just getting some air..."

My mom narrowed her eyes, like she didn't believe my words.

"Don't look at me with those eyes mom, I really went to get some air..."

Sighing, my mom goes back towards the kitchen, but after a few steps she stops and tells me.

Mom:"Don't think too much, it doesn't matter to me whether you have a system or not, you will always be my big baby."

"MOM!!!"

Mother:"Hahaha..."

My mom laughs as she goes into the kitchen leaving me in the driveway with a red face like a tomato.

Though I'm embarrassed to the point that I want to dig a hole to bury myself inside.

I still feel my chest getting hot.

'I have the best mother in the world.'

With my joy upstairs, I head straight to my room.

After entering I move towards my computer which is right in the corner of the room.

I sit in the old wooden chair and press the Power button on the monitor screen, so an image appears.

It was a program execution window, this window executed the installation of a game that I just discovered on the internet.

"Hohoho, you finally installed it baby!"

"I have to kill time for two hours for you to install, it better be worth it."

I sat down in my chair excitedly, while moving the mouse, to open the game.

[Welcome to the system simulator]

[This game was created for the sole purpose, to allow the user to have a new experience about waking up systems.]

When the game opens, two message boxes appear on the screen.

"I think this is an explanation of the game!"

[Do you want to watch the tutorial or do you want to skip?]

"Of course I want to watch the tutorial, what idiot would skip it?"

I moved the mouse and clicked on the yes option.

After clicking the "yes" option a new message box appeared.

[Follow step by step...]

[This game allows you to choose five unique systems of your choice.]

[Once you've chosen the five systems, you can use them and explore them at your leisure.]

[Then choose them wisely!]

"Fuck what the fuck is this game?"

I was shocked, this was the first time I saw a game that allowed the user to create their own abilities.

We must know that all games created until today, all already had their pre-established abilities or classes.

You could only unlock or acquire them, none of the games gave you the opportunity to create your own abilities.

"Fuck this is fucking awesome!!"

For a brief moment, the sadness was gone from me.

"Let's get started then!!!"

On my computer screen, there were 5 mini tabs open.

Each mini tab had 2 spaces to be typed.

The first space had written next to 'Title', and the second space below had written next to 'Description'.

[The first space you will put the desired system name.]

[The second space below will put the description of the system you will choose. (Note: the entry must match the title for it to work.)]

"Fuck this is the best game I've ever seen."

Quickly I choose the five systems according to my wishes.

After looking up and down, I click the confirm button.

"Weird… what's wrong with my eyes?"

"What the hell is..."

Before I even finish my words, I pass out.
