Boom!!!

The whole surrounding beasts were caught in the explosion along with Sam. The low-level beasts were directly dismembered by the blast while the level 4 or level 3 were incapacitated. Sam in a nick of time threw a paperbear for shielding but as the mad rabbit was holding his limb, he was also more or less directly hit but the explosion.

Sam stood in a daze as he couldn't wrap his brains around the scene that just happened. He was too critically injured and numb to listen to the system's notifications.

Shakily, he glanced at his body and saw the flesh of his legs and right arm had gone along with his abdomen torn apart with bones protruding out of them! Both of his limbs barely had broken bones on them to maintain their disabled structure!

"I..."

Sam was trying to say something when he fell on the ground and lost consciousness due to excessive bleeding and critical injury...

Dust prevailed on the ground as his body fell on the ground...

Sam suddenly felt something scratching his face! He slowly opened his eyes only to see a small bird was pecking on his face.

The bird was frozen still when it saw its weird prey open its eyes. Two pairs of eyes looked at each other — one full of confusion and another full of fear!

woosh~

Unable to bear the gaze of Sam's eyes, the bird flew away hastily!

Sam was still confused. The last thing he remembered was that he was critically injured due to the suicide explosion of the level 5 rabbit! He was not supposed to survive!

So how was he alive?

He got up and sat on the ground as he checked his body...

"Huh? Fully healed?" mumbled Sam in shock!

"How the hell?"

* It's the system credit!* replied the system proudly.

Sam felt relieved. Just as he was feeling heartfelt gratitude towards the system and was going to thank it, he heard the system say...

Sam froze!

"My life?? My 3 years of life??..." mumbled Sam dramatically...

A cold wind blew past him like a dry leaf drifted by the wind settled on his head...made Sam back to reality.

He rubbed his fake tears and accepted the reality.

*Host is so dramatic!* mocked system!

Sam just ignored it!

"How much time was I unconscious?" inquired Sam.

*The host was full 28 hours unconscious.* replied the system in the same ice-cold voice.

"What? So long? What about the beast tide?" asked Sam panicking.

*It has receded. But the host is still not safe at the present location. There's the possibility of attacks from higher-level beasts. The system suggests hosts exit the jungle as soon as possible to avoid attacks from them! * replied the system.

Sam fell silent. After some time, he sighed and nodded.

He alone was not enough to defeat the beasts. He shouldn't overestimate his capabilities by trying to fight higher level beasts. A level 5 monster almost made him greet Yama!

Sam raised his eyebrows seeing his increase of soul power.

"System how did my soul power increase?" inquired Sam.

Sam was thrilled at the reply.

"Such an easy cultivation method..." thought Sam as he laughed foolishly.

"By the way system where are my points from killing the level 5 red eyes rabbit?" asked Sam cockily.

*It SUICIDED! The host didn't kill it! Don't be so delusional! * chided system.

Sam's smug face fell.

"Isn't it the same? Ultimately it died because of me!" argued back Sam.

*I think the host's intelligence has gone back like before even though your stats show it has increased!* replied the system mockingly.

Sam grudgingly fell silent...

As they bickered, Sam patted his butt and started his journey back to the outer city!
