Queen Of Scales

Varantiz came crashing down, crushing all that was beneath him, however no blood was to be seen anywhere, the snake dragon stood up on his hind legs and observed the area around him, no sign of the pesky human anywhere, he couldn't have run too far in such a small amount of time, as such Varantiz simply started burning the whole area down, wherever he was hiding, the fire would find him.

Suddenly, the snake dragon stopped, something had happened, twisting his neck to look at his back, he immediately noticed the human climbing up on his body.

In an unexpected act, Varantiz breathed fire directly on his back but it was too late, the human had made it up on his neck and was out of the fire's reach, the snake dragon flailed his head around with tremendous power trying to shake off the human off of him but the human seemed glued to him and refused to move away even when battered by mighty gusts of wind.

The dragon's wings flapped and he rose from the ground quickly ascending high up into the air, if the wind wouldn't get rid of him then he would asphyxiate him by flying up, Varantiz pierced through a cloud, dispelling it to pieces, despite the quickly rising altitude the human continued to advance.

Despite the thinning amount of oxygen to breath, the human held on, at this rate, Varantiz would be the one to suffocate, the human made it to his head and plunged a blade into his left eye.

Letting out a scream filled with both pain and amazement, the snake dragon once again flailed his head and the human, no longer holding on the scales of the dragon but his sword and sent away, still holding on the sword.

Luc found himself free falling from a height that could kill anything but as of now, he wasn't worried about his landing but about the dragon that was charging at him in the air, ready to swipe his manacing claw through his vulnerable body.

However Luc was ready to dodge, it would be risky as he needed to conserve some of his strength for the inevitable landing but he had no other choice, when he had started climbing up on Varantiz, he had expected that this would happen but now that he was in said situation, he was nearly consumed by fear, however he couldn't let that happen, he couldn't let himself die.

The colossal dragon loomed toward him at neckbreaking speed, he started initiating his dodge, focusing with everything he had, he used the little knowledge of magic he had to form a small mass of earth, holding it in place near him and watched as the dragon was about to swat him as if he was nothing but a fly.

Putting all his strength in his legs, he pushed his body using the mass of earth he had created and launched himself away, avoiding death by nothing but a hair, the wind pressure caused by it however, shattered his left arm and cracked a good portion of his ribs on his left side, he was sent spinning away.

As he had propulsed himself toward the ground and with the kind help of the dragon by pushing him away, he was approaching the ground rapidly and would soon have to land, thankfully avoiding to have to dodge the dragon in the air again.

However fate was not always kind as he saw Varantiz already on his way to kill him, it seemed that the pain caused a few moments ago had dulled the champions sense as the dragon had managed to get close, too close to repeat the same action again.

The snake dragon unhinged his jaw and prepared to gobble up Luc whole, however it seemed that fate was in the mood for trickery as Varantiz seemed to panick as he saw something and immediately stopped what he was doing, flapping his wings to break his momentum.

Still, he wasn't eaten alive but the gusts caused by the snake dragon's flapping his wings made him fly off into the distance, he flew over an habitation and understood what had happened, he got scared that he would smash into a habitation, the habitation where Iolidt was.

Using a mix of wind magic and pure luck, Luc managed to land without dying and limped his way to the palace where his true target was, once inside Varantiz wouldn't dare to attacks with as much strength as he had before.

Coughing up a bit of blood, Luc walked through the palace, dragging his sword, who he never let go of, behind him, leaving a trail of blood, he was fairly certain that his brain had been trembling ever since he had been hit by the powerful gusts of winds but it was alright, he could go on.

Avoiding windows as much as possible, he made his way to a noisy area, he could hear Varantiz desparate screams outside, as he cricled the palace attempting to do something.

Luc kicked open a door, almost falling over due to his battered state and what he saw made him want to leave immediately, a large room crawling with malformed scaled creatures, all crying out in pain, feasting on the corpses of their fallen peers, at the end of the large room and woman laid on a bad, grunting as she gave birth to more of them, endlessly, it never stopped.

Scaled creatures gathered up at his feet, harmessly gnawing away at him, nothing they could do could penetrate his skin.

As he walked toward his target, the scaled creatures stopped what they were all doing, disregarding the chance at food and instead tried to stop him from reaching their mother but they couldn't do anything apart from slightly inconveniencing him.

Reaching the bed, Luc used his right arm to raise his sword, the Queen Of Scales didn't seem to be aware of anything that happened around her, bringing it down, the blade pierced her heart and killed her instantly, all of her spawns died at the same time as her and from outside, Luc heard a large thud and after checking its source, found the lifeless body of Varantiz, he too seemed to have been linked to her.

While Luc savored his victory, two people were absolutely disgusted by the amount of luck he had had during the entirety of this operation.
