Demon Shadows

Dominik's phone vibrates, and I look down into my shaking hands, realizing only now that I'm still holding it. What I just saw couldn't have been real. 

They were coming from all around—at least four of them. Yeah, there were four men. Four shadows. All closing in. 

When I realized they were coming for me, I took off running between two cars, creating a bottleneck behind me where they would have to chase in single file. As I ran, I couldn't hear anything but their shadows. They were filled with so much screaming, so much pain—each so much worse than Ivan's shadow somehow.
