Chapter 2

Yukiko slowly opened her eyelids. She recognized her location. She was in her living room, lying on her couch.

"Urg, what happened?" She asked confused.

"You blacked out after Salem showed you a dead bird." The voice of her brother answered her.

"What, oh I see. I remember now. How are Salem and Lilith?" Yukiko said, worried for the children. While she said that she sat up and looked at Nagato

"They are alright, after Salem ate the bird they began to play again. I guess we now know the side effects of their Quirks." Nagato answered calmly.

"What do you mean?" Yukiko was confused if they know a side effect of a Quirk it would be Salem's but not Lilith's.

"So you didn't notice it?"

"Noticed what?

" That right before Salem showed you the bird Lilith said 'NO, you can't eat it Salem it is too cute to be eaten?"

"What? Don't tell me she finds a bloodied bird 'cute'. But even if she does it could be mental and not a side effect." Yukiko was panicked, why would her Lilith find a dead bird cute, was it a side effect of a mental illness.

The problem with side effects is they will never go away while a mental illness could be 'treated'.

"I fear it is a side effect because shortly after you passed out Lilith freed herself of Salem's webs and stole the bird from Salem, before sucking out the rest of the blood." At this moment Yukiko wished to wake up from this nightmare more than ever. A Quirk that requires you to drink blood to activate is bad enough but a Quirk that gives you the urge to drink blood to fulfill its condition is so much worse in a society where everything is divided into Heros and Villains, of course, the Quirk will be called a villains Quirk and Lilith and also Salem will be on a watchlist of potential Villains. Yukiko was not naive enough to not know that such a list probably existed. But it was never confirmed.

"Anyway I have to go home now, I would have liked to stay longer, but as you know can only have Salem for so much time before Akari has to see her. After all, they could not let a r*pist be alone with his daughter too long." Nagato said with regret in his voice.

If Regret for what he has done or for having to leave his sister was unknown but it was probably for both.

"I understand," Yukiko said, let me bring you to the door."

"Let me just get Salem"

Nagato walked to the room where Salem and Lilith were. He opened the door.

"Hey Salem we have to go home now or some people will search me and take me away from you."

"Ok. Bye Lilith. I hope we will see each other again soon." Said but the words didn't match her tone which was void of emotions.

"Bye, Salem." Lilith was the opposite of Salem she showed her emotions. She had a very bright smile on her face showing her white teeth, well nearly white, as the blood of the bird was still on them.

Nagato walked to the front door where Yukiko already waited.

"Well, until next time I guess."

"Yea, I hope next time I can stay longer."

"I hope so too. Nagato I see you try to better yourself for Salem, don't give up halfway, ok."

"Of course, well till next time." Nagato said one last time and then got in his car.

After he drive off Yukiko went back inside her house.

"Lilith," she shouted, "please come to the living room. We have something to discuss."

Shortly after Lilith came into the living room.

"What is it, mom?

"Do you still want to become a hero?" Yukiko. The fear of Lilith's answer lingered in her voice.

"Of course! I will become the best hero there ever was. Together with Salem. She can be my partner and we can become the number one hero together." Lilith told Yukiko exited.

Yukiko smiled but it wasn't a happy smile, it was a smile filled with sadness because she knew Himiko would meet hardships and hurdles on her way, so many that Yukiko feared that Lilith will break and walk the path of villainy.

"Then you have to try and keep that urge you felt today under control, ok? The thing you felt while looking at that bird you have to never express your thoughts about such things openly, do you understand? If you do you can't become a Hero." Yukiko smiled sadly and put her right hand on the left side of Lilith's face.

"Don't worry mom I will not disappoint you. And I promise you that you will be proud of me." Lilith said still as happy, as she didn't understand why Yukiko was so sad.

The next morning Yukiko woke up with a good feeling she and Lilith talked till late in the night and set up some rules that would Lilith become a hero. First was that Lilith will not show her urge to drink blood in public or say something that would let others think that she had such urges. Second Yukiko will buy blood bags for Lilith so she will not hold back her urges till they erupt and make her a mindless bloodthirsty beast. And third none of the two will talk about what happened previous, to Yukiko's husband.

Yukiko walked down to make breakfast for Lilith and herself, she turned on the TV to listen to the morning news.

*Yesterday night a terrible accident happened two cars crashed and fell off a cliff on the side of a mountain. Strangely the only passenger seems to be a seven year old child going by the name Salem Toga...*

"What," Yukiko's attention was now solely focused on the TV

*Her father was a registered villain who committed r*pe, which was apparently driving back home after visiting his sister with his daughter, and the passenger or passengers in the other car are nowhere to be found. Any relatives of Salem are asked to call the police so they can get information on the hospital she is lacated at. Now we go to the weather for toda....*
