XIV. Late Night Entertainment

Yavin guided the four of us into the guest room. And it was like stepping in a 5-star hotel, everything was in either premium silk or shiny marble. It was really a rich family guest room and not to mention the bed, as I sat down it was like sitting on marshmallows. I could feel myself sinking to the floor.

As we settled down someone knocked at our door. It was one of the maids, she offered us a set of night gowns and pajamas wherein I was the only one who accepted. She also asked us if we wish to tour around the manor and or the resort, and this time all of us agreed to come with us.

We were guided outside of our room, where we saw Yavin standing. All of us were subjected to a usual house tour by Yavin as he explained the rich history of ever nook and crevasses of the family manor.

When the tour reached the lawn, I got a peek of Nico playing with the Satsuki siblings, like they're blood related. It was there I was that the surviving member of the royal family was just a kid like everyone else.

As the tour ended Yavin asked us if we wished to refresh before dinner. All of us opted to refresh, and I have to tell you the bathroom is phenomenal. I treated myself to a wonderful warm dip in the tub, got out and changed to the evening wear provided earlier.

The seven of us gathered at the dining room. There were different types of dishes offered before us, from Kyatto's local fine dining cuisines to even some far away planets. This family never ceases to amaze me.

As all of us ate Julia struck a conversation. She was a natural when it came to these sorts of things which is why all of us gave our different opinions regarding our jobs, planet, hobbies, and some sorts. It was like old friends getting together.

When the dinner was over it was decided that we should get ourselves rested. We also decided to think about our plans tomorrow morning.

At around 9:00 pm it was lights out. And since all of us were tired from everything that happened, we were all knocked out cold. But as my life always has been, now wasn't the good time to rest.

I woke up to Strife's soft yet violent way of rocking my body. He looked anxious, and it turns out that I was the last one to wake up.

"What is it?" I asked Strife with a croaking voice.

"Something's wrong, we need to move." Strife softly replied.

Strife rushed besides the door. Within moments someone violently kicked it open. We saw that it was a man in full tactical gear, he aimed his gun at us, but before he could pull the trigger Strife grabbed him by the collar and slammed him against the wall. Knocking him out.

I got out of the bed, Celestine handed me my guns. At that moment I had an adrenaline surge that forced me to be wide awake.

"Strife you find Nico, Julia and I will take care of the general, Rover you alert Yavin and Geoff about this." Celestine ordered all of us.

As I got out I looked both left and right, making sure the coast was clear. One the left side of the hallway were two men in the same gear. I fired a shot at each one of them, while making sure to head towards them.

When I was about a meter away I pressed my gun on the neck of the man to my left, while I pressed my body against the man on my right. I pulled the trigger killing the man and shifted my body away from the man on my right, fired at his eye. Killing them both.

It was a good thing that Yavin gave us a tour of the manor because it didn't make me wander around aimlessly.

I moved past the kitchen and into the wide dining room when I heard steps. I hid myself into one of the columns as I waited for the armed men to walk past me, around seven men walked when I decided to sneak behind one of them and shot his head. I then made him a human shield, stole his gun and fired at his comrades.

With a bigger gun in my arsenal it was easier for me to move towards Geoff. There were a few armed men in most sections of the house. I made quick work of them, firing before them could even react.

When I was nearing the stairwell, I ran out of bullets so I decided to return to my trusted guns. I walked right below the overlooking area of the stairwell when someone fired at me. It forced me to hide back, as they continued to fire. Without even thinking about it, I slid down the floor and fired at the men firing at me. His body dropped down, I rushed to the second level of the house.

I headed straight to Geoff's room, as I saw his door there were two men that had already breached his room. I quickly rushed in and with my dual wielding killed them in a snap.

As the bodies dropped Geoff exhaled in relief, who was hiding behind the bed. I saw the corpse fall down and bled on his carpet.

"I'm sorry about your carpet."

"That's okay, where's my sister and Nico?" Geoff asked me.

"They're with my team. We need to get you out of here, is there any place we could go?"

"I believe the manor's panic room would be a great option." Yavin told me as he also got out from his hiding.

I nodded in acknowledgement. I turned my holowatch to contact the team.

"This is Rover, Geoff is secured, and apparently Yavin is also here."

"Good. Strife's here with Nico, we also secured the general. Heading at the manor's panic room." Celestine replied through the coms.

"Copy, heading there too. Over and out."

I let Geoff and Yavin follow me behind as we reached towards the panic room, which was located just behind the communal bathroom, that is just beside the sauna.

We finally reached it, as Geoff opened the door I saw Strife leading the other team. I gave him a wide smile.

"Rover! Get down!" He screamed at me.

Without even looking back I pushed both Geoff and Yavin to the ground. I turned my head and gun towards my back and saw the Ice Queen herself. And at that moment I knew I might screw up.
