IV. Unnecessary Origins Pt. 2

I tried to touch the object, but I resisted yet it glows so hypnotic. I took a step back and wondered what could be inside, an advance camera drone or maybe it's just part of a space station. But my brain ventured onto a weird territory, it could carry an alien device containing DNA of aliens, an alien parasite sent to wipe us all out, or maybe it's a ship carrying a cute alien that crashed landed here on earth.

I touched the object then suddenly it revved and opened itself. The sudden opening threw me off balance and I fell inside the object, it closed itself. The inside was as big as a phone booth on the top and bottom has a circle. I panicked banging on the doors shouting to anyone that can hear me to open me up, I punched and kicked hoping to make it budge but to no avail. After a few minutes I gave it a rest so I could catch my breath. Suddenly everything inside lit up, the top and bottom circle shined a vomit green light, the lights gets brighter and brighter.

The light pulsed, it wasn't an ordinary light. It was a painful light that burned through my skin on contact, the pain was unbearable, it burns and almost disintegrating me. Through the pain I thought of everything I did with my life, I'm pretty sure my life flashed before me, is this really the end for me? Well I cried, closed my eyes, and accepted this death that could've been avoided if only I turned back and ran. Within seconds I swear I could've been disinterested.

But that that wasn't the case, because a soon as I got 'disintegrated' I landed on a room that looks like the phone booth-disintegration thingy. I was confused to see myself whole again but that was overshadowed by another confusion of seeing people of weird colors, and I'm not talking about some racial thing, I'm talking about tangerine color among other spectrum of color people. Some have weird facial and body structure, from tall to lean and even one with four literal eyes.

They saw me and was confused, I ran away from them hoping that they run slower than me, I look back to check if they're following me. I continued running and all I see is the same corridor it feels like I'm in a horror movie with my heart pounding and mind racing. I was getting tired of running when I saw a glass, I was thinking that it might be a window or a mirror yet I still approached it and I was shocked with what I saw.

I was looking through a window of a spaceship parked in some sort of space colony, for a moment my shock was replaced with awe. It looked a like a pine cone with different types of spaceship around it, the lights of every parked ship gives off a feeling that I'm looking at a christmas tree. I saw two blurs that does not belong in the space colony. I refocused my eyes to see my reflection and saw two aliens behind me, one of them pricked me with something. I my body froze for awhile.

"You need to find a perfect opportunity to be overwhelmed with what they see. Then you can stab them where they stand" The one that pricked me told his partner.

"Humans are just like antelopes then?" His partner asked.

"Yes"

They began a conversation yet my vision became blurry and I might have passed out because I woke up in another room. This is a cell, I think to myself, as I saw a giant glass wall that shows only the hallway. I can say that nobody passes within these halls, only few people watch these walls as evident of the camera placed in the ceiling directly across my cell.

On the monitor room there were three people watching me in my cell, the two aliens from earlier and a human- I think. All of them were trying to figure out what to do with me.

"Boss I think we should've killed him" the alien partner told the humanoid.

"We don't know how he got in our ship, we don't know where he's from and you propose to kill him?" The humanoid told them.

"Well scanned him and it appears he's from earth" The one that pricked me informed everyone.

"Earth? But no species is allowed to enter Earth, tell me the truth" The Humanoid asked.

"Well the crew said he just appeared near the incinerator"

"When?"

"About, I don't know ten-fifteen minutes after we were done using it?"

"I think it was nine minutes" his partner corrected him.

"Right after we burned that junk?" The humanoid asked again.

"Yes."

"We just burned a billion worth of credits"

"Are you saying we destroyed a very advance artifact?"

"Probably. Scan his face and try to cross match it on the database for cataloged humans"

"And if we find him? Would you return him"

"No one has ever been to Earth, I'm just curious how he got out of that planet. And no, I'll see what we can work with him"

"Boss. There is something wrong with the human." The alien told the boss. I was on screen, having what seems to be a heart attack.

"Get down there and see what's happening to him" The boss demanded.

The one that pricked me, put away the facial scanning and tried to see what is happening to me. His partner rushed down the elevator to look after me. I was lying on the floor, he asked me if I'm okay, I was unresponsive. He opened the door and came close to me, he put him hand on my finger trying to get my pulse. I opened my eyes startling him and bashed his head on the wall knocking him back. I rushed outside my cell and locked it and ran away. I was at the end of the hall and I saw a door open, I switched to the opposite direction. Then bam! A fist landed on my face knocking me out.

I woke up not my cell, this time I'm strapped to a chair with the humanoid and the alien that pricked me. He was about 6 feet tall, hulking, with leathery pink skin. He was holding a glass tablet which at the time I didn't know was called Holotabs, he looked at it.

"Boss, I found him" He shows the tab to the humanoid. "His name is Rover Hawking, of Earth"

"Okay, so he is from earth. Well how did he got here?" The humanoid responded.

"Well boss he is from Earth, but not our Earth"

"What do you mean?"

"He is Rover of Earth but, according to the data base this galaxy's Rover died on a car crash five years ago"

I overheard their conversation and I was confused so I asked them a question "What year is it today?"

"Excuse me?" The humanoid questioned back.

"On my planet, what year is it?"

The alien that pricked me showed the data to the humanoid "It's year 2002"

My faced was puzzled "2002 is the back home... so this isn't the future. But I'm dead five years ago, but how?"

"Well I might say that you look younger than you are in the database" the alien informed me.

"Did you get aboard on one of those things?" The humanoid pointed to the ships parked.

"No" I replied.

"If you're not from here, time wise. Then you're not from here dimension wise"

"So you're telling me that he is from another dimension?"

"Theoretically yes, although many smarter species have observed and tested that theory and they concluded it was a bunch of bullcrap"

"Can you get me home?"

"Honestly kid, I can't. Because the thing we used to 'bring you here' was incinerated for being useless" He looked at me trying to empathize "But I don't think it was useless at all"

"Can you bring me to Earth then?"

"Unfortunately, we can't" The alien responded quickly.

"Why?" I asked him.

"See Earth is an observatory planet, which means we can only watch it but not touch it or take anything from it. Violation will be met with either life time of service or death"

"Well he is a human, so why can't he bring me then?" I pointed at the humanoid.

"He is not human, He is from a race called Shalmoy, visually looks like a human but stronger and smarter than humans... Not to mention a different organ placement"

I was in awe of a whole discovery I have found just about now. The two aliens turned around me so they can have a discussion.

"Slugtag what are you doing?" the humanoid asked the alien.

"Answering the kid" the alien Slugtag replied.

"Well think of some ways to get rid of this kid"

"Kill him? but-"

"No! We don't kill kids remember? Plus if we do it here, we won't be able to reach the outer ring before they blow us up"

"Yes indeed, but if we return him, we will violate a lot of law. We can't have a human on board" He looks at his boss trying to find a resolution.

"I don't see a human here" He looks at me. "Prep him"

Slugtag moves toward a cabinet and took a few things "Your name is Rover correct?"

"Yes"

"Well I am Slugtug, and that is our boss Garner. Now if you can give me a few moments" He pricked me with an injection, that he repeated three more times.

"What was that?" I demanded.

"Vaccines for common diseases here on space" He held my head and injected me again, this time near my neck behind the ear.

"What was that?!"

He held up a sign with a few unknown characters. "Read this" sign suddenly read as 'Test Completed'

"Test Completed"

"Universal translator."

"But I understand you without it"

"Everyone on the galaxy does speak English. Because your 'Universal' language is indeed easy to learn among the vast cosmos" Slugtag unclasped my strap and forwarded me to his boss, Garner.

"Mr. Garner, sir?" I looked at him.

"Rover. Well as Slugtag explained, we can't return you to either of your earths and we can't take something from either of them. To make sure nobody is gonna end up in trouble I've decided to adopt you"

"What?"

"I'll help you find a way to survive and even live a wonderful life throughout the stars."

"I'll be here forever?"

"Well I'll be adopting you until you are in your legal age. On earth that is- But you don't tell anyone you're from earth, I've asked Slugtag to make you some documents"

I was overwhelmed by everything that is happening. I don't know how to respond, I just want to go home. But there is no way I could get home, I closed my eyes and accepted the reality I am about to face.

And yup flash forward fifteen years later, and I'm continuing the story.
