Master Lin's Power

Ye family has 4 young masters and young misses - Ye Simming, Ye Yuan, Ye Ning , Ye Zhi.

Old Master Ye has only 2 sons - Ye Jiushang and Ye Wangchuan.

Each of them have one son and one daughter. Ye Yuan and Ye Ning are children of Ye Jiushang. Ye Simming and Ye Zhi are children of Ye Wangchuan

There are another 10+ Ye family young masters but they are from branch families, children of Old Master Ye's brothers.

She has seen the members of the Ye family before in the floating fragrance restaurant along with Bai family young masters.

They all seemed friendly and she liked hanging out with them.

They treated her as a child which annoyed her and scolded her bad luck.

She was surprised to see an old acquaintance Ye Simming. She fought along side him before when he was assassinated.

Ye Simming did not recognise her at first as she was wearing a veil at that time. But she felt familiar to him and so he was constantly looking at her which annoyed Su Daya.

She came to accompany Chujiu until the hunting session starts and introduce all Ye family members along the way.

She blocked Ye Simming's view and looked sharply at him causing him to shiver a bit.

He came back to his senses and was about to explain but Chujiu spoke first, "Its you!"

Ye Simming immediately understood and smiled silly. Only now he understood that the girl who helped him is none other than Lin Chujiu, the only heiress of the Lin Family.

Su Daya was shocked and turned to look at Chujiu as if asking how the two of you know each other?

Chujiu grabbed her second aunt and whispered to her ears. Since its an assassination attempt, she don't know if she could speak out in front of others or not.

Su Daya understood everything and brought her niece to Ye Simming.

Su Daya said calmly, "Ye Simming, I hope you take care of our little nine. She is still a child and ignorant, please keep a check on her and make sure she won't run around."

Chujiu lips twitched, why does she feel like she is being treated as a 5 year old. Looking at Chujiu's face being turned pink, she looked cute and lovely, the Ye family young misses and masters laughed out loud. Chujiu's face turned apple red.

Su Daya did not mind at all, all she want is to find as many people as possible who can accompany little nine and protect her.

She knew her father-in-law and brother in law has made sufficient arrangements. But so what, the more people to take care the better.

Chujiu quickly became centre of attention in the Ye family camp. Not just the younger generation, even Master Ye and Second Master Ye also liked her very much.

As the first rays of twilight bathed the hunting grounds in a soft, ethereal glow, the call to action resounded throughout the camp. Families began to assemble, forming into teams in preparation for the hunt that awaited them.

All the teams gathered at the centre of the camping area, a small dais is arranged on which the emperor Ji Bingyun is seated. Team from royal family stood a side. Their's is a small team of 6 people.

Ji Bingyun has one 3 sons and 1 daughter. 2 sons from his last empress and one son and one daughter from the current empress. His first 2 sons are above 20 years of age and hence excluded from participating. His third son and daughter along with a few princes from his two brothers are present.

All the people bowed down to him except Lin Family, even Chujiu did not bow down.

This irked him as he always treated the Lin family is his subject family.

He couldn't dare enough to show his displeasure on Master Lin so he vented his anger Chujiu.

He said with reproachful tone, "Why does Lin Chujiu not bow to me?"

"Has she not been taught the proper etiquette befitting her station?"

He wanted to tell all the people present that Lin family is not good at teaching their offsprings and their heiress lack in etiquette.

How could Master Lin and others let the emperor bully their little nine, especially he disliked the emperor from a few decades.

"When did our Lin family become the subjects of the Ji family?"

Everyone present gasped at what Master Lin has said. But later realisation stuck them. Both Lin and Ji families have same ancestor and Lin family was granted an autonomous and independent status by the ancestor and that cannot be changed.

Lin family always maintained low key and people have gradually forgot this.

It should have been Lin family late old master who should have been inherited the thrown but he was not interested and hence Ji family has got the chance.

How can emperor not know about this, but he conveniently forgot about this as he treated himself as some one superior to all the people in the kingdom.

He didn't know how to retort and could only swallow the grievance for now. He will see after a week how will the Lin family keep their status intact. He will take each and everything from them. Only he deserves such power.

Emperor hid his malice and showed a realisation look, "Oh, I just forgot. Its been so long since our ancestor has given the special decree."

Master Lin did not back down, "Its not given to us by anyone, its earned by our Lin family. We never used resources or any power that belongs to the kingdom. Even our family manor is purchased after giving up 11 rare treasures at that time. They were used by the kingdom to overcome a calamity."

"Our Lin family can be controlled by none."

There is pride in Master Lin's voice which resounded across the area.

He wants to clarify and remind all the people of the kingdom including the current ruling family that no one has the power or authority over the Lin family.

Sometimes being low key may cause illusions among people and some people may have thoughts that they should not have.
