Betrayed and casted aside by his own family, Greg’s perfectly aligned life morphs into a literal joke. He ends up landing in a wealthy family, and assumes his life is finally back on track, but his life’s status only grew more pathetic, despite him having a wife now. There, he becomes the disgraceful son-in-law everyone despises. Greg gets humiliated on a daily basis by the wealthy people around him. Greg had lost all hope and was about to give up the ghost after one unfortunate circumstance, when heaven finally danced in his favor and a hand stretched out to him— in his long, lost relative who showed up from the blues and completely turned his life around. “You’re no longer the pathetic son-in-law, Greg. You’d now be known as Shadows, King of the night and ruler of the world. Everyone would either bow at your feet or be sent six feet under!” Greg’s time is finally here. Alas, he’s on top of the world, and this time, he’d stop at nothing till every single person who had wronged him, is bowing at his feet.

Unknown Strength

The high class were the kind of people Greg hated especially with what had happened with Petra and her family he had come to hate that class of people even more.

He had seen the high class people as villains and people who didn't care about anyone at the bottom of the food chain.

They only cared about being at the top and becoming rich while the poor got poorer. He had seen this set of people as people who didn't work to attain their position but would do anything to keep it including murdering people or stealing people's wealth, jobs or relationships.

Thinking of how she had been taken away from him made him wonder if her new man was amongst the high class.

Of course he would be. Why else would he be given that public embarrassment?

Now with all of this, Greg was not worried about the capability to work as expected but the courage to handle these people who tended to carry themselves as gods of the earth.

He already had enormous failures with their kinds and he knew he was not about to start having successful businesses with people like them.

He had an amazing insight into things and people despite knowing the kind of people Petra and her family were. He still stuck by them.

He could have easily gone away from them. He wasn't stupid for staying but because he was in love. However, reality had dawned on him and he could see clearly now.

While his thoughts of Petra filled his head, a different kind of gaze took over his face. He reminded himself of the irritating things Petra and her family did to him. The things he had to overlook and endure all in the name of love.

It was crazy how none of them saw how much he was trying for them and working to earn his way into their lives. They didn't care for him and they only saw him as a slave.

Even after he had been married to one of them they did not treat him with respect. He was turned into a slave in his own house and he was treated like the worst of the garage.

Even the maids they paid had more rights when compared to him. And to top it off there was a demon named Damien who was after him.

Vengeance filled him so much that he could feel his hands vibrating over the table.

His body shook almost instantaneously as he was at the verge of exploding in anger.

With his thoughts taking over and him being sucked into a trance, Kieran and Damien were now at each other's throats arguing and shouting at the top of their lungs.

Isabella and Eve tried to stop them from going overboard with their arguments but it all fell on deaf ears as the room got rowdy with no one wanting to listen.

It was at this moment that Victor glanced at Greg to see how he was going to handle the situation but what he saw made him shiver in his seat.

The fierce and dangerous gaze Greg had made the accountant shudder and rethink his decisions.

Victor, in all his years working as an accountant, had not been intimidated like that before. For this man to have such a gaze which had him shaking, there was no one like him around.

At once a loud bang was heard on the large table, like a hand smacking against the table's surface, cracking it into two.

This reaction had everyone shocked as they stared in the direction of where the crack was coming from to find it was from Greg's side of the table.

This had everyone shocked as they all stared at him in horror. Kieran and Dominic, the muscles of the group who were both martial artists had the same thing going through their heads while staring at the heir.

They were thinking of how someone as little as he was could bring out such power.

The room got silent after he had done that as they all waited for him to say something. They all exchanged glances at one another wondering if they should say something or let him be.

Greg stood to his feet with a sigh leaving his lips. He knew how scary he could get when he got mad and he always tried to stay away from his bad side.

He always tried to keep away this side of himself because he hated it. He could quickly switch and become the villain he always hated but he was not that kind of person. This however was one of the few times he had shown his power to anyone.

He heaved another sigh as he tried to control his anger and looked at them, one by one, before leaving the room.

They all watched the man walk out of the room as he banged the glass door shut which shattered into a thousand pieces, sending them whimpering at his power.

This action sent them in a state of confusion as they watched him leave without saying anything to them.

"Now you all have really cracked the egg," Eve breathed as she fell back in her seat to calm her nerves. "Who knew he was that powerful?"

"It doesn't matter," Kieran, who had called his nerves, said with a nervous laughter. "He's still a loser. It's all for show. I can bet you that he can't do it again."

"The table is pure oak. Unless you've got the strength of the hulk, how do you explain how he broke the table with a single blow?" Isabelle asked with her fingers pointing to the huge crack on the table.

It was the biggest mystery that everyone could not solve and they all scratched their heads at it, yet Kieran being himself refused to acknowledge that the heir was powerful.

"The table might have been weak or wobbly or something like that. No big deal."
