Pitiful Vampire

A group of people was passing by from the marshy swamp when someone noticed the figure trying to come out on the ground, albeit slowly.

"Hey! Who is that?" a short boy asked the group leader. Their group consisted of two girls and three boys. Looking at their paleness and the greyish tint on their skin it could be deduced that they undoubtedly were the oh so scary undead.

Selena didn't have time to check her appearance and was in a great dilemma as she didn't know how she looked now. It was truly difficult to transmigrate. Why didn't anyone write about it?

All the problems that come after coming to a strange environment. In the books it was all easy for the protagonist to handle new people and any situation like a well practised Oscar winner but why could not she think something amazing. It was truly mind-blasting.

The short boy was Benny and he immediately came towards Selena after getting permission from his leader. He had always been a little more sensitive even though he was born in the cruel race of the undead.

He saw the paleness which was likely due to malnutrition and a thin body; he guessed it was a vampire. Although he was not sure there was nothing wrong in thinking in some direction rather than being at loss.

"Help." Selena croaked as her throat was dry and it was troubling to speak any more words.

Benny quickly pulled her on the ground and checked her vitals.

The other four undead were only standing aside and didn't want to help any more than this but when they heard the deep hope and a tinge of fear in that pitiful undead's voice their little heart shook.

Selena was scared that they would kill her as this body was not a pure undead. Her father was a vampire but her mother was a human or half-human and half-elf.

Before the original Selena tried to run away towards the devil continent she met with an accident and was trapped in this swamp for seven days before dying. It was pitiful but foolish.

Why would a fifteen-year-old girl run away from home just because she knows her elder sister would return in five years and make her life hell? She could have changed her destiny smartly; there was no need to work so hard for a future that you are not even sure of, after all, she had seen what happened to her in the previous life.

It was her own foolish decisions that killed her. She couldn't blame anybody and taking revenge against those that killed the original Selena before the present Selena arrived there was no need for now.

She can't be like those foolish main protagonists that like to flaunt their capabilities just after transmigrating. 

As if everything was normal, nothing wrong in entering another body, coming to a different world and experiencing completely different things that you can only read in fantasy books.

They just adapt but she can't do any of that because for her to behave like them she needs to be OP first which she was not nor was she some white lotus or green tea girl who can deal with things as they come.

Selena was a completely normal and average girl that you can find anywhere so she could not understand the reason why she a normal girl chosen to transmigrate in this world.

Leaving her mental dilemma aside, what should be her next act in this situation? Should she behave like a dumb girl or an extremely proactive undead? 

Ah! So troublesome!

Benny could not see her pitiful face anymore and asked Rubin to give him his blood pouch. Rubin the other boy in the team was also a vampire so he was the only person here that could help the pitiful vampire to gain some strength. 

The girls were Luna and Cleopatra and their leader was the aloof teenager Jeremy. 

"Here." He passed the pouch to Benny and joined the team. "I only have this much. What is your decision? Should we leave?" He asked. 

Rubin was not interested in another vampire clan troubling him because of this minor issue. He was already in a tough spot yet there was still some warmth left in him so he hesitated and decided it was better to ask the leader.

Selena who was slowly trying to get up missed their conversation and was helped by Benny in quenching her thirst, without paying attention to the fact that she was currently drinking blood.

"Umm...mmm…" 

The sweet pleasurable sound coming from her throat just after drinking water was so embarrassing that she wished to dig the ground and hide in. It was way too humiliating for her who likes to maintain her face.

Aiya! How shameful?!

"Drink slowly. Nobody is taking it away from you. Little brother, how can you be alone here? Where are your friends or your companions? Your passion for life has really impressed me."

As Benny praised her, he looked at the swamp that was behind them. It was not too easy nor too dangerous but if a weak person fell inside it; it would be impossible to come back on the plain ground alone.

Looking at the poor boy, Benny was sure of the fact that something terrible happened here and only this pitiful vampire was left alone. His guards must have sacrificed.

As to why he thought this, it was very simple, all the vampires were rich. Would they care about money or their personal safety?

This lad's hair was so smooth though. Benny thought as he helped the pitiful vampire.

Selena didn't realize that she was treated as a rich vampire boy because of her short hair. The original Selena had cut her hair to pretend as a boy and was able to easily snuck away from home after preparing her new outlook. She was still busy in her mind on how to interact with her first batch of the undead.
