Chapter 3 ( edited with system)

Time flew by, and the next year arrived. It was Saturday, January 16, 2005. Throughout that time, I dedicated myself to practicing and exploring the capabilities of my Rinnegan in this world, comparing it to its usage in the Naruto world.

Firstly, I discovered that I could perceive the flow of magic in the world and in individuals who possessed magical abilities.

Secondly, I realized that I had the potential to utilize all forms of magic, but I needed to practice and master each one.

Thirdly, I discovered that I could create black receivers and chains that could transmit my magic. They seemed to possess a power that could surpass even supernatural beings. I decided to test their effectiveness on a creepy stalker who had been targeting my sister at night.

Fourthly, the seven paths of the Rinnegan remained the same, but now they utilized magic. I experimented with most of them on mice, excluding the path that required the use of my life force. The animal path, in particular, depended on the amount of magic I used to summon creatures of varying sizes. Currently, I could summon beings as small as a cat and as large as a car. The preta path, on the other hand, now had the ability to absorb magic.

With these newfound abilities and knowledge, I was ready to face the challenges and adventures that awaited me in this world.

"We're here," the driver announced.

"We've finally returned to this small town after a couple of years," I remarked.

Bella responded with a simple "Yeah..."

As we stepped out of the car, our father, Charlie, emerged from the house and spotted us. Despite his occasional forgetfulness, I could never bring myself to hate him. He always tried his best to remember important things, and he was far better than our so-called mother.

Charlie: "Look at you two, all grown up on me."

"Hey, old man, how are you doing?" I greeted him, moving in for a hug.

Charlie: "I'm doing good, and this old man can still whoop you if needed." We shared a laugh.

He then attempted to hug Bella, but they both shared a similar aversion to physical affection. Like father, like daughter.

Bella: "Hey, Charlie." I noticed a hint of sadness in his expression upon hearing her address him by his first name.

I made a mental note to talk to Bella about why she referred to him as Charlie instead of calling him dad. We both retreated to our respective rooms.

Later, Charlie entered my room.

Charlie: "I've left everything as you left it since the last time you were here..."

"Thank you," I replied gratefully.

Charlie: "You're welcome, son."

I looked at him, appreciating the warmth in his voice.

"Yes, dad?" I responded, curious about what he wanted to say.

Charlie: "Let me know if anyone gives you a hard time because of your eyes. Being the Chief of Police has its perks."

I nodded, touched by his concern and the support he offered. It was comforting to know that he had my back.

"Sure, old man, I'll let you know if I can't handle it on my own. I've grown used to it by now, and it doesn't bother me as much." I reassured him. However, if they were to cross a line or target someone important to me, they better be prepared for the consequences.

Charlie walked away, and I began unpacking my belongings. Later, I made my way to Bella's room and knocked on the door.

"Hey, can we talk?" I asked.

Bella: "Sure."

"Why did you call Dad Charlie? Is it because we haven't seen him or lived here for a long time?" I inquired.

Bella: "Pretty much. He forgets our birthdays and doesn't know much about us anymore."

" I understand your perspective, but at least Dad is trying to be there for us and doing his best to provide for us since we moved in with him. Have you ever received a call from "mom" since we got here? I highly doubt it. I won't be expecting one either because she knows I won't be helping her anymore. I overheard her talking behind my back, blaming my eyes for her inability to find a boyfriend. What kind of mother relies on her children to take care of her and talks negatively about them? Not a good one. If we're going to use a name, it should be Mom's name, not Dad's.

As I finished speaking, Bella began to contemplate my words, tears welling up in her eyes. I sat down beside her, and she rested her head on my shoulder.

Bella: "What should I do then?"

I playfully poked her head, trying to lighten the mood.

""The best thing you can do is take it slow and call him dad when you feel comfortable," I advised Bella. She nodded in understanding, and I left her to process her thoughts.

Meanwhile, we arrived at the Cullen's house around the same time. Everyone was returning from a hunt. Edward, his twin sister Edythe, Emmett, Rosalie, Jasper, and Alice were all present. Suddenly, Alice paused and had a vision. She saw Edward sitting down and talking to a girl with brown hair, both of them smiling. In another part of her vision, she saw herself piggybacking on the back of a pale man with a tattoo around his neck and captivating deep purple eyes that she could gaze into forever.

Edythe was the first to notice Alice's vision, and she gently broke free from Jasper's grasp, her expression filled with concern.

Edythe: "Alice, are you okay? Was it a good or bad vision?"

Alice snapped out of her trance, a wide smile spreading across her face. She began jumping with joy.

Alice: "It was a good one! It was about Edward and me finally finding our long-awaited mates!"

Edythe: "I'm so happy for both of you! Finally, my brother can stop being all gloomy and emo."

Laughter filled the room as Edward shot a playful glare at his sister.

Rosalie chimed in, curious about the details.

Rosalie: "What did they look like?"

Alice's eyes sparkled with excitement as she described the appearance of Edward's mate.

Alice: "Edward's mate is a girl with a very pale complexion, long straight dark brown hair, unique chocolate brown eyes, and she's incredibly beautiful. As for my mate, he is tall, even paler than the girl, with a tattoo around his neck. He has dark brown hair and the most breathtaking purple eyes that none of us have ever seen before in our lifetimes."

Jasper: "Purple eyes shouldn't be hard to find, considering we've never seen anyone with them before."

Emmett: "True. So, when will you two meet your mates?"

Alice: "Most likely soon. I can't wait!" She giggled with excitement.

Edward remained silent throughout the conversation, his thoughts consumed by the fear of subjecting his potential mate to a life as a vampire. He couldn't bear the thought of condemning her to an eternity of darkness and thirst. He would rather be alone and face his own demise than allow her to be cursed like them.

Little did they know, the meeting with their mates would come sooner than they anticipated...
