Intruder As An Impostor

"Fabian knew human lives were dispensable within Old Man Pond's eyes. So the guy claimed that he wanted to save the children... By letting them live on in non-living objects."

"Because of this messed up mindset, my good friend went missing when he said he wanted to look for his baby sister. The last thing I heard from him was that he went missing in the lowest district of Briton," revealed Bryan, clenching his fists and the shot glass.

"Hey, Bryan? You wanna stop the drinks for now? You don't look too good..." I asked, trying to take the shot glass away from him.

I quickly jumped back as I neared him since I saw his Elemental Aura when it flashed before my eyes. My sword and armor were summoned instantly, and I prepared to fight on the spot. But, unfortunately, the 'Bryan' that stood there started glitching like he was a bug in a game.

I pointed my blade at the intruder before jumping from the spot to deliver a strike at the guy. The intruder dodged and went to the other side of the room, to my surprise. I tried to attack once more, but he avoided me while staying silent.

Darn, I should've known that Bryan wouldn't have learned so much about Fabian Brookes when he had no clue about the guy until the Duchess wrote to him about the problem.

"Who are you, and how did you get into the Old Chapel?!" I shouted, trying to question the guy.

"Please tell Darling not to come. Please, when you have the chance, protect her. She cannot be near FB..."

Could this person be Minwoo? Judging from the way he talked, it would seem so. However, he tried to run away when I wanted to question him. I changed my sword grip to stab the glitching Mage in the chest, but he vanished before I could do so.

Once he disappeared, I sat back down on my bed before the door swung open by Tomoe, of all people.

"I heard the sound of a blade swinging about in here. Are you alright, Lizzie?" asked the Kitsune while he quickly rushed towards me.

"I'm fine, but do you know if Bryan is around?" I asked, still trying to wrap my head around the situation.

Tomoe looked at me as if I had sprouted another head as he slowly pointed to the door to reveal a Slayer staring at us with confusion. I sighed and laid down on the bed, making Tomoe freak out.

"Hey, hey! I'll get Mavislin in here. She's got healing powers!" exclaimed Tomoe.

"Chill out, fox boy. I'm fine, and I would love to sleep right about now. But, tomorrow we've got a long day ahead, so we'd better rest for the night. I'm alright, I promise," I answered.

Tomoe wanted to question me further, but Bryan gestured to the Kitsune to give me some alone time. Once the two men left, I could finally get some peace. I closed my eyes only to realize that I couldn't sleep. Tonight will be the longest night in the world for me.

I went through the whole long list of my Original Spell, finding out that I have nine forms to use. A few others were blacked out, but I guess I wasn't powerful enough. I've used the First Order and Sixth Order so far.

I might use the Third Order and perhaps the Seventh Order to secure a win, but as I did the calculations, I'd be down for the count the moment I unleash the Seventh Order. Nevertheless, I didn't want to continue thinking about the Mission, so I tuned into my memory files.

My heart fluttered when I got to watch some old videos of my time when I played with my baby brother. I was so happy when Vania told me everything from my past life had turned into videos for me to look at when I felt bored or forced to sit through a silent night.

Before I knew it, I was reaching out to the videos in an attempt to touch my brother one more time. But alas, as fate was a cruel person, all I got was nothing but thin air. The worse part about it was that I couldn't cry about it. I was numb all over, making me feel even worse.

I'd love to go back to him and hold him tightly again if given a chance. I want to see him meet new people and play more games.

Regrettably, watching the videos were starting to mess with my confidence for the task tomorrow, so I shut off the videos before going through my skills and quests list again. Then, with a few hundred possible combinations, I figured out which one I would use against my target.
