CHAPTER 14: THE GATEWAY

A calligraphy pen appeared in front of her swishing. Then she drew the guardian. Just a much fiercer one.

BOOM!

It appeared its footsteps shaking the ground.

"Kill that for me" Jia ordered it. It nodded and charged toward the guardian.

The real guardian saw it and got angry.

" ROARRR!" It roared angrily.

"Ah, this is going to be a nice fight," Jia said hiding behind a fat tree.

'Ancient ruins are sick' She thought looking around. When she looked back to see the battle, she saw her drawing sprawled across the floor, DEAD.

" Agh, there goes my one-time skill". Jia growled enraged.

"The damned thing. "She roared again as Vampire transmutation took over her.

'No. Activate asura mode' she told the system before turning into a creature from hell. She had hellish flames all over her because of her monarch of fire. She became gigantic and almost four times bigger than the guardian.

Jia's eyes were red with anger. She charged at it at full speed decapitating it in one strike.

PUCHI!

Its head rolled on the floor.

"Bitch. No core?! Weird" Jia said examining the dead body

[Ding! Quest 4 is complete. The host has received; Key to the gateway] The system announced.

A golden key with a lion's head engraved on it appeared.

[Use the key to open the gateway] The system said.

She walked past the dead body of the guardian and saw the gateway.

It was a colossal-sized door. She put the key into the door and it creaked open. A bright light shone in front of her blinding her for some minutes. When it opened fully, an invisible barrier stopped her from going in.

[Summon the pagoda in you and get in] The system said.

A small blue statue levitated in front of her then it melted the barrier. The pagoda entered back into her.

Different things were on the ground sprawled across. She saw a cauldron and some pills.

"Hmm, Alchemy seems fun," Jia said picking them up.

She saw a few things. Then she got to a statue holding a huge saber and tried to pull it out and everything became blurry. She opened her eyes and saw an old man with his back turned.

" Who are you "Jia asked warily.

" I am the remnant soul of the saber god Yggdrasil. You tried to take my saber, so you have to undergo the trial" The man said.

"Not interested. Take me back" Jia said glaring at the man.

" You already attempted to take it so you must do it. " The man said.

"I'm just level 8 so leave me alone," Jia said glaring again.

" My trial is to defeat me in a one-on-one saber fight, " The man said his eyes curved into crescents.

"If I lose, what's the catch," Jia asked.

" Death," The man said coldly.

'System! 'Jia thought angrily.

The man drew his saber and assumed a warrior stance. She drew her Demon slaying saber and faced him brimming with anger.

They circled each other for a while before the man rushed at her attempting to make a critical strike.

CLANG!

The sound of the two sabers clashing was heard.

She then controlled the saber with qi and pierced his heart.

"Arghh" The man shouted spewing blood from his mouth.

"You're no deity. You're just a liar" she said looking with contempt. Everything blurred again and she was back outside side the statue.

"Liars," Jia said with killing intent throwing the saber in her space ring.

"Array formations huh," Jia said looking at a scroll she had picked up earlier.

" I need more sabers, "Jia said looking around.

When she walked farther, she saw what looked like a cemetery.

[Ding! Would you like to sign in at the grave of extreme Yang?] The system asked.

" Yes," She replied.

[Received 24 sword Dao array formation] The system said.

While the 24 swords formed an array

"Spirit stones, to keep an array. I'll find that later" She mumbled to herself.

" Ugh, this ruin is so so, "Jia said frustrated.

She continued moving but this time, she activated her all-seeing eyes as it was getting dark.

"Ooh more alchemy materials," she said putting some materials in her space ring.

Then while looking around, her stomach rumbled.

" Aah, I haven't had normal food in a while now," Jia said missing her favorite dishes.

She gathered a couple of sticks together and caught a wild rabbit.

"Mhmm," she said setting fire to the sticks.

She skinned the rabbit with her blade before cleaning out the innards. Then she let the rabbit roast over an open fire.

'System, do you sell condiments 'Jia asked the system.

The system did not reply so she continued to roast them. When it was done, she popped some to Kay and ate the rest. She did some clearing and lay down.

Jia yawns

"It's been a long day," Jia said closing her eyes to sleep.
