Reborn Heroes (A MHA Fanfic)

A MHA fanfic in which the MC died, is reborn in MHA, and is a nerd. This is the first time I've ever tried to write a story that isn't for school, so... don't take this too seriously, okay?

Ch. 7 Day Two

Shit... I completely forgot. I feel so guilty now. A whole character, gone just cause I showed up. I wasn't expecting a reality check THIS early. It's only what, episode 6 of the anime?

F for Sugarman.

...

"By the way, I was lying about the expulsion. No one's going home." He said, with a content smile on his face.

"Eh?" Everyone's faces had went blank.

"That was just to make sure you gave it your all in the test."

"EH?!" Really? Nobody figured that out?

Except for Momo Yaoyorozu, I guess. "I should have said something earlier. Sorry." Yeah, you really should have. I see a few others share my opinion, but it's their own fault for falling for that obvious lie.

As Midoriya is sent off to the nurse, I hear someone call my name, "Hey, uh... Mamoru-kun!"

I turn around, and I see a pink girl. Not just her hair, but her skin too. She's got horns too... "Just Saisei is fine. What is it?"

"Well, me and the others wanted to know what kind of quirk you have! You got a really high score on the test, after all. You even beat Bakugo!" This girl has an awfully loud voice, doesn't she? Same goes for her personality. I'm not very good at handling these gyaru-types of girls.

"Hmm... How about... I keep that as a secret for tomorrow? That okay with you, acid girl?" Of course, tomorrow is the Battle Trial. Perfect opportunity to properly show what I can do. Mina seems satisfied with that answer, and she moves on to another question.

Soon, more classmates join in. Now they're all talking, and I can barely keep up with the discussion. "Saisei-kun, what school did you go to?"

Oh dear...

...

(???'s POV)

That boy, what was his name? Right, Saisei Mamoru. He was holding back in the tests. He's obviously much stronger than that. Rumor has it, he actually dominated the entrance exam in his group. Barely anybody was able to get any points while he was around.

I heard he was even able to slice the giant robot in half during the entrance exam. If he's so strong, shouldn't he have gotten in by recommendation? Why'd he even bother doing the entrance exam?

Right now, he's being surrounded by the others. He looks uncomfortable talking to them, but he's still being polite. He looks like a kid at a family gathering being forced to talk with the adults because he's "big enough".

I should keep an eye on him.

...

4 A.M., UA High's Front Gate,

Again, I got to school early. Gate's still closed. This time however, I came prepared. Pulling out a thermos filled with hot tea, I set myself up on top of the entrance arch as I did the day before and get to waiting. Today's the day we have the Battle Trial. We match up in 2-v-2s and so on. I'm actually a bit excited to go.

Wonder who I'll be matched with. Rikido got paired up with Koji, the animal guy, in canon, but we don't know who they fought. Hopefully I get to fight someone like Shoto, or something.

I like fighting, okay?

...

You know, school here in UA is... kinda average. You'd expect a school as prestigious and over-the-top as UA to be special in some way, right?

But no. It's just a regular school.

Except the teachers are Pro Heroes, of course.

*Brrring! Brrring!* Oh, is that the lunch bell? About time I got to eat. Boredom makes you hungry, ya' know? I bet they just serve regular school lunches like curry or somethi-

Holy shit. This is a big cafeteria. You could fit a regular school building in here. Is this a food court or something? What the hell do you even serve here? I look at the menu, completely unprepared for whatever might be on it. "O-Oysters?! RAW oysters?!" The look on my face when I see the menu of not only curry and other things one might find in a regular school cafeteria, but even high-class dishes the likes of which you would only find at a "dining experience". Indian curry, oysters, salmon meuniere, steak, and even escargot!

Overwhelmed by the sheer variety of the menu, my vision goes white.

As I come to, I find myself holding a tray of... curry. I'm more surprised by the curry rice than I am the fact that the tray had fucking... I don't know, manifested in my hands? One second, my hands are at my side, empty. The next, I'm holding a lunch tray in outstretched arms. It's creepy, and I don't like it!

I should probably find a place to sit down now... One with less than 4 people already sitting on it, of course. Eating with 4 people feels like an awkward family dinner. I scan the incredibly massive hall for a table mostly unpopulated, which is harder than I thought it would be, thanks to the sheer amount of tables here. So many tables...

Aha! A table with less than 4 people on it! 3 people! All from 1-A!

I walk over with my tray of curry, careful not to knock into anyone else lumbering around the tables. Noticing my arrival, all 3 heads poke up at the same time. This wouldn't be that weird if their conversation hadn't completely stopped when they saw me.

One had messy hair the color of pine leaves, the second had short, neat blue hair, and the last one had fluffy-looking brown hair. I had to physically resist the urge to pat her head.

"You mind if I sit here?" I had to pick the table of main characters, of course. "Sure!" Uraraka's an angel. Deku better treasure the ever-living fuck out of her precious heart.

I sat down and laid my tray on to the table. Evidently, these three had also just sat down, because their own food had barely been touched. "You know, I didn't catch your names yesterday. I'm Saisei Mamoru." I lied through my teeth. Of course I know their names.

"Nice to meet you. I'm Tenya Iida."

"I'm Izuku Midoriya."

"And I'm Ochaco Uraraka."

"Well then, itadakimasu~" I grab a spoonful of curry and rice and bite it down.

"...!" Upon tasting the food, all 4 of us are shocked.

"It- It's so good..." I can barely believe my mouth. "What kind of dark magic is this?!"

"I know, right?" Ochaco agrees, shoving spoonfuls of rice down her throat.

"Slow down. Even if it tastes good, your behaviour is unbecoming of a UA student!" In comes Iida, calmly going through a bowl of beef stew.

"H-Hey now, Iida, no need to say that." says Deku, also downing his chicken cutlet.

Thank god for food.

...

Whoo boy... I'm full. I ate like what, 3 portions of curry? God, that was satisfying. Never in my entire life have I tasted curry this good. Not even in my past life, when I went to India! Lunch Rush's status as the Cooking Hero is not for show!

Ahahah...

"I AM..." Here he comes! I'm starting to feel giddy!

"...COMING THE DOOR LIKE A NORMAL PERSON!"

"It's All Might!"

"Awesome! He's really teaching us!"

"He's wearing his Silver Age costume! So retro!"

"Hero Basic Training! You'll go through special training on your first step to becoming heroes!" Paying no mind to the class's exhilaration, All Might busts out a dramatic pose befitting the No. 1 Hero. Even I'm in awe at the sheer awesomeness of this man!

"No time for dilly-dallying! Today's training is this: BATTLE TRAINING!"

Hmm... I'm not sure how to write fight scenes.
