His brown eyes began to open with abundant fatigue, he felt a slight headache without knowing an exact reason.

'What has happened?' wondered the boy bringing both hands to his brown hair, which was quite messy.

Immediately he noticed the white ceiling that was in that room, and his confusion became even bigger. 'What is this about?'

The only thing he remembered from last night...wait! He was murdered last night! He was walking down the street after leaving the university, and was assaulted by some vandals who took his life after several stab wounds.

'Wait, so I'm not dead?' the boy looked at the sheets on which he was lying. It was indeed a hospital, that made him smile calmer, because at least he wasn't dead.

He sighed in relief and relaxed, lowering his shoulders. Suddenly, a man dressed as a doctor entered the room along with a nurse. That made him confirm that he was in a hospital.

"I see you've finally woken up, Hyoudou-san" the doctor spoke looking at the paper in his hands and the boy's eyes widened.

"H-Hyoudou?" the boy asked in confusion.

"Sure. You are Hyoudou Issei, right?" asked the doctor with a raised eyebrow, he was surprised by the fact that the boy was confused.

'I eat? That's not my name!' thought the boy without giving credit to what he had heard. "Doctor, can I go to the bathroom for a moment?"

"Oh, of course I do" the doctor answered quickly and the boy got up from the bed without making much effort, his body felt sore.

The boy ran to the bathroom and stood in front of the mirror. When he did, his eyes widened. 'W-what appearance is this?'

His hair and eyes were brown in color, this appearence... belongs to Issei Hyoudou from the Highschool DXD light novel! He now understood why the doctor called him that way.

'Does that mean... that I am Issei? It can't be, I'm Tatsuya Takahashi' thought the boy putting his hands to his head, not understanding anything.

Tatsuya Takahashi, an ordinary 20-year-old university student who is fan of manga and light novels. He was stabbed to death last night during a robbery.

How come he was Issei Hyoudou now?

'Could I have been reincarnated, like in those light novels?' the boy wondered with a hand on his chin, did he really pass away last night?

That meant that he had passed away and reincarnated as Issei, the protagonist of the DXD novel. 'This is fantastic! Really I am still alive!'

Issei jumped joyful and clenched his fists excited. 'Well, first I have to know in which point of DXD history I am' he thought, washing his face.

He was excited by the fact that he wasn't dead and furthermore, he had been reincarnated in a fantasy world filled with gods, angels and demons from almost every mythology.

Everything revolved around the biblical factions: the God's angels, the fallen angels who lost their light, and the demons at the service of Lucifer. But in addition, there were more factions such as the Greek, Nordic, Hindu gods, etc. As well as legendary creatures like dragons.

'Let's see what fate has in store for me!' Issei gave a smile full of emotion and left the bathroom with a new face. He sat back down on the bed.

"Are you alright, young man?" the doctor asked and the boy nodded with a smile, "Okay. I can confirm that you are Hyoudou Issei, right?"

"Sure doctor, may I know how I ended up in this place?" asked Issei feeling curious, that would help him to know which canon events he was in.

"Well, you were found in a street and a kind old man brought you here" answered the doctor seriously, "You had a deep wound in your abdomen, you lost a lot of blood"

"In my abdomen?" asked Issei and immediately his mind was filled with everything that the original Issei had experienced the night before, and he raised his hands to his head.

Issei was killed by Reynare just like in the original serie. However, it seems that Rias Gremory didn't appear here to reincarnate him. That meant that he was not yet a demon.

'In any case, I didn't have any intention of being a demon either, at this point I don't want to follow anyone's orders' Issei thought after having assimilated all the memories.

"Are you alright, Hyoudou-san?" the doctor approached when he saw that the young boy kept his eyes tightly closed, but Issei opened them immediately.

"Oh yeah. I was trying to remember what happened last night... ugh, was it too bad?" Issei asked with a smile but the nurse denied.

"Surprisingly, your wound healed throughout the night, it's as if nothing had happened to you" answered the nurse, smiling.

"That's what I wanted to get to, since the last tests we've done on you have been favorable, we can now give you a medical discharge" said the doctor, sliding the last page of his briefcase.

"That's great news, doctor!" Issei exclaimed getting up slowly, "So can I go back to my house now? I really want to rest"

"Of course, you just have to sign the medical record" said the doctor passing him the briefcase and a pen, 'I still wonder how he was able to heal..."

Issei headed towards his house. He needed to shower to see if he got to class on time, luckily the hospital was a couple of streets from his house.

"Okay, first thing is to train my body to get stronger" Issei started listing the list of things he was going to do, "The Boosted Gear requires a strong body to withstand the amount of power increased"

In this world there was a group of humans who received from God a blessing called Sacred Gear, a power capable of performing inconceivable miracles. Issei was one of those blessed.

For that reason Issei wanted to strengthen himself to increase the number of augments he could perform with the Boosted Gear. "Although I should try the Boosted Gear first, I'm really excited"

Overnight he became Issei Hyoudou, who in addition to having been blessed with such incredible power as Boosted Gear, he possessed inside him a powerful dragon capable of dominating the heavens and the earth with his might: the Dragon Emperor Ddraig Goch.
