QT: Nine Tales of the Nine - Tailed [BL]

"In a world where the impossible exists, there is a heart that aches, longing for the one he seeks." Nine lives, nine worlds. Nine hearts – eight shattered, one fulfilled. It all began when the legend that dwells in the depths of the Nanshan Mountains met a human named Xiang Yuze. The legend was revered as a god to believers, as a monster to his victims, or as a being created from just the imagination of the human mind. With his nine silver tails swaying on the edge of a cliff, beneath the bright full moon, casting a soft glow on his ethereal figure, he gazed down at the broken body underneath the precipice. A man he nurtured back to health, moved his beastly heart with his kindness, and taught him how to love. The same man who pierced that silver heart bestowed by the goddess and buried his memories in a void of darkness. With all his memories gone, will he be able to find the man who killed him and exact revenge? Or will his shattered heart, beat once more, for the same man, again and again? ---- [Excerpt] One fateful evening, when Xiang Yuze, a no-name cultivator, was night hunting a formidable creature that had been destroying the peace of his hometown closer to the Nanshan Mountains, he met an accident and fell off the cliff. Believing in the legend that dwells in the mountains, as the old folks in his town claim, Xiang Yuze desperately pleads to survive. The cold wind carried his wishes and in the eerie silence of the forest, his words were delivered and heard by the nine-tailed fox. The legend cared for the dying Xiang Yuze back to health, masking his form with wind, thus, Xiang Yuze had no idea what he was. Slowly, he regained his health and even learned some of the ancient cultivating techniques stored in the legend's abode, and he decided to go back home. The nine-tailed fox allowed him, but Xiang Yuze refused to say farewell without seeing him even just for one time. Fearing that the kind human would be afraid of his form, the nine-tailed fox mimicked the only human form he knew, thus, he transformed into a beautiful male human. ---- 1st Entry - 2nd Tail: Tale of Forgotten Memories [completed] [no mature content] 2nd Entry - 3rd Tail: Tale of the Immortal [on-going] [mature content] ---- Hello, you can send your powerstones, golden tickets, and gifts to support this book! Chapter 8: Wrong message

Silence ensued when Lee Hyun reached the room. He entered with calm and dignified steps, much like a young master raised from nobility, and nodded his head at Mr. Han as a form of apology for interrupting his discussion.

After that, he placed the chair down on its designated spot and went back to his seat, opened the book, and attentively put his focus on the board.

Kim Hajun, who was seated at the last seat on Lee Hyun's row, wondered why the latter returned alone when he volunteered to help his foster brother get a seat. He squirmed in his seat after thinking that the vice president might have finally lost his patience and dragged Song Yujin to the disciplinary office.

Kim Hajun's worries vanished when a few minutes later, Song Yujin entered carrying a table. He glanced around and noticed Kim Hajun staring, so he winked at him before walking to his designated spot.

Kim Hajun sighed in relief. He went back into reviewing the book on his desk, in case Mr. Han decided to call names to answer what was written on the board.

Song Yujin immediately arranged his table and sat, pretending he was listening properly to the teacher, but his head was racing with ideas on how to get his ID back. Unconsciously, his fingers drummed on the desk lightly and his eyes darted on Lee Hyun again.

Oh, I forgot to say thank you, Yujin thought. He tried leaning his head to catch the corner of Lee Hyun's eyes, but the latter was utterly engrossed in the lesson.

Song Yujin tried to reach the vice president's shoulder while Mr. Han's back was turned on them. But it was too far for him, as their seats were diagonally opposite each other. Song Yujin only got weird looks from the student behind him, however, the person before him looked back and asked amicably, "Should I call him for you?"

It was a girl with straight, dark bangs framing her face neatly, accentuating her kind, almond-shaped eyes, and her small rounded face. Song Yujin was slightly attracted to the simple beauty of the girl, that he forgot to answer.

He was only jolted in his blatant display of attraction when a crumpled paper hit his head and bounced on his desk. He looked back to find whoever dared to hit him with that formidable weapon, only to find out that it was his brother, pointing at the board with harsh, bulging eyes, silently telling him to focus on the lesson instead of gawking at someone's beauty.

Song Yujin spun his head and smiled sweetly at the girl, and then he whispered, "No, it's okay."

The girl, whose name was Kang Ji-eun, smiled back at Song Yujin and looked ahead. For a moment there, Song Yujin's heart skipped a beat, but when his eyes noticed Lee Hyun's attention was finally focused on him, his heart beat faster due to his icy and darkened gaze piercing into him.

Song Yujin swallowed hard, and thought, what? Is she, his girlfriend? Is that why he's mad?

He averted his eyes out of guilt, but when he realized Lee Hyun finally looked at him and gave him a chance to thank him, his head whirled back at the vice president again, but Lee Hyun was facing the board already.

He sighed in frustration and clenched his fist, only to find the crumpled paper he picked. He grinned at the idea that waved in his naughty head. Aiming the paper at the vice president's side profile, he threw it enough to land on his desk, but his naughtiness might have seeped into the crumpled piece of paper that it decided to hit Lee Hyun's cheek instead.

Kang Ji-eun, who witnessed the futile attempt of the crumpled paper to voice out its striker's desire to catch a glimpse of that ice-cold beauty, gasped loudly that Mr. Han's doodling symbols on the board faced the class again.

"What is it, Kang Ji-eun?" Mr. Han's stern voice cut through the silence in the room. Kang Ji-eun jolted when her name was called out that loud and strict, so she couldn't help her eyes looking at Lee Hyun's desk.

Song Yujin broke into a cold sweat. He gulped and was about to raise his hands when Lee Hyun spoke, "Kang Ji-eun was just startled by some bug that crawled inside the room, sir."

"A bug?" Mr. Han asked in disbelief. "What kind of bug?"

Lee Hyun's eyes glanced sideways and landed on Song Yujin who gaped back at him, realizing what he meant. He then answered while still staring at the mischievous fellow, "An annoying bug, sir."

"Oh, if it's not harmful, leave it alone. In the summer, insects are really more active. Focus on the board and I will explain to you everything I wrote," Mr. Han slammed the board with his hand, gathering everyone's attention who panicked at the mention of a bug, particularly the girls.

Song Yujin then gasped loudly next; his eyes finally focused on what was written on the board.

Mr. Han turned around again, frowning at Song Yujin, "What is it this time, Song Yujin? Are you scared of bugs too?"

Song Yujin shook his head and scratched his head, then he answered with a foolish yet honest grin, "Oh, I just didn't expect that you're a math teacher, Mr. Han. I thought you were a P.E. teacher, hehe."

Mr. Han raised his brows, his patience clearly wearing thin from the laughter that broke in the room. That phrase was overly used in the school since everyone who first met Mr. Han would think he was a P.E. teacher because of his large build and masculine appearance, but he carried an algebra book instead, much to everyone's amusement.

Mr. Han flicked his index finger, asking Song Yujin to stand. He then pointed to the board with the chalk he used and ordered, "You don't strike me as a studious boy as well. Prove me wrong. Go and answer the example."

Mr. Han wrote a complex algebraic equation, a topic that was yet to be discussed with his class, so he expected that Song Yujin would just give up and walk back into his seat with a lowered head.

To his surprise, including everyone in the room, except Kim Hajun who watched Song Yujin with a resigned look but sporting a proud smirk, Song Yujin deftly wrote the answer like he was doodling something, his penmanship uglier than the teacher, but his answer was clear and correct.

Song Yujin chucked the chalk back to the edge of the board and bowed to Mr. Han, then he returned to his seat, witnessing Lee Hyun opening the crumpled paper he threw. He wondered why the guy was trying to straighten the paper, but then when he saw ink inside, he realized that Kim Hajun might have written something inside.

Looking back at his foster brother who watched them with wide eyes, Song Yujin found him facepalming. He abruptly closed into Lee Hyun and dared to snatch the paper, but Lee Hyun's right hand shot up and cupped Song Yujin's chin, pushing it upward.

Lee Hyun read the words in his head, while Song Yujin's gaze dropped down to the paper, glimpsing what was written on it.

Stop getting into trouble, mother**cker! Focus on the board!

Song Yujin's face paled. Before he could explain, Mr. Han's curious face appeared right before them, scrutinizing their posture and asking them with subdued anger, "What's going on with you two?"
