Chapter 1Hunting

"Bring him to me". Meshak roared from where he sat on the throne.

"Yes, your Majesty". The guard bowed and left to do what he had been ordered to do. Some moments later, the guards came in with an old man who looked like someone who had slept in a pit for years.

He looked mucky and his malodorous smell filled the entire throne hall. Meshak starred as the putrid old man who was being dragged to where he sat till he raised his hand indicating for a stop.

He stood up from the throne, standing as tall and mighty as he is, with the dark aura surrounding him before descending down the stairs. He stopped and turned towards General Crion who was waiting to see how the Prince would deal with the old man.

He turned his attention back to the old man, walked towards him and grabbed his jaw. A gasp escaped the old man's lips which left the Prince fuming with anger.

"You are more filthy than I thought". he said and left the man's jaw "You, an old begger like you is neglecting your duties. I expected you to have some fear to at least perform your duties well and live, but you have disrespected and disappointed me". he said, turning around to walk back to his throne before the man spoke.

"No your Majesty, may the lightning of the gods strike me to death if I ever go against ..." the old man spoke but got cut off in mid sentence.

"Have I asked you to speak?". Meshak roared like the beast that he was rumoured to be. "I had not given you the permission to speak, yet you have disrespected me just now and spoke. Guards! Take him to the dungeon and lock him up. Give him nothing to drink, and nothing to eat. This man deserves punishment". He ordered.

The guards immediately grabbed the old man's arms, held him up from the floor and began dragging him out of the hall.

"No your majesty....please...I beg of you. Have mercy on this old man. Please... Please". The old man kept begging as they dragged him away but Meshak turned a deaf ear to him.

After a brief pause, Meshak approached General Crion, standing by his side as he whispered , "I hope I have impressed you".

He uttered those words and gracefully exited the throne hall, his guards trailing behind, en route to his regal chambers. General Crion cast a brief, assessing glance in his direction.

As Meshak sought solace within the confines of his room, a sigh of relief escaped his lips. Moving steadily towards the window, he fixated his gaze upon the scenery outside, beholding the vast expanse of the kingdom he would soon call his own.

Kidon stood as a kingdom renowned for its abundant natural resources and formidable rulers. It possessed a wealth beyond compare, with gold, diamonds, and silver aplenty. The kingdom's strength lay not only in its material riches but also in its unwavering alliances, bolstered by a formidable leader universally feared by millions, even beyond the borders of neighboring realms.

They had won wars, claimed the lives of many, both old and young with the help of their vicious Prince. Yet no matter how strong they were, they couldn't defeat one particular Kingdom. The Kingdom of Decresh.

Thus, these two mighty kingdoms forged an unbreakable bond, becoming not just allies but strategic companions in the realm of warfare, united in their shared objective of vanquishing their common foes. The very notion of betrayal had never even flickered across their minds, enhancing their collective might and impenetrable strength.

Meshak stared at his Kingdom, and then the moon. The moon seemed to be brighter today than how cloudy it was yesterday. He could feel his fangs itching, his inner self trying to false itself out. For his claws, they were already out, ready to scratch something.

"You're ready to go for a ride again". Oraion, his younger brother, spoke from behind. Meshak had already sensed him with his sharp ears attuned to any movement, but ignored him as his perspective nose recognized the familiar smell. He stopped looking outside and turned to face his brother "More like a walk". Meshak replied standing up, turning to face Oraion, "When will you ever knock before you come in". he asked as he hid his claws behind his back.

"Sorry brother, it's just I get too excited when I'm given the permission to see you. When will you ever take me out with you". Oraion asked childishly.

"Oraion, bury that childish behaviour in you or forget about it". Meshak replied sternly.

"I'm sorry". Oraion said, looking down at his feet.

"And never apologise for something you do. Never let anyone give you orders, you must give it to them". Meshak said. Oraion looked up and saw Meshak with a small smile on his lips, one he hadn't seen in months now.

"Yes , your majesty". Uttering those words, he assumed a dignified posture, standing tall and aloof, reminiscent of a vigilant guard.

"I like this much more. About you going with me, no, you can't". Meshak spoke softly before removing his regal robe and exchanging it for a simple shirt. Oraion's gaze fixated on his brother's well-defined muscles. Despite having fought countless battles, not a single scar blemished his impeccable physique. Meshak was not only his role model but also his mentor, confidant, and the sole person he regarded as true family.

      "But why not your majesty?".

"Oraion, I just can't sneak you out, mother would be annoyed if she was here. And I don't want to be reported to an angry Queen and King when they are found ". he said walking towards the door. He turned around to look at his brother downcast, "when the time is right, you will go with me". he said.

"But aren't you supposed to be preparing for the war right now? Where are you off to?" Oraion asked which stopped Meshak in his tracks. But Meshak ignored him and made for the door before replying to Oraion.

"Off to hunt". Meshak replied and walked out of the room.

Meshak waited until he was certain he was out of anyone's sight before allowing his claws to emerge once more. The fangs that had been itching now elongated, as sharp as knives.

His hair transitioned from its original brown hue to a deep black, and he could sense more of it emerging from his skin. Stripping off his shirt and pants, he lay on the floor. His eyes underwent a transformation, shifting from brown to black and then to a striking red.

He continued to grow larger, with black fur sprouting from his skin. Bathed in the moonlight, he swiftly transformed into a formidable beast—a black werewolf. Claws extended, fangs sharpened, he now presented a more fearsome and imposing figure.

Fully transformed now, he set out for hunting..
