Helena and Victor's passionate kiss also came to an abrupt halt as they registered the commotion.
Victor's friends exchanged glances, realizing that the noise might be linked to a single person running outside.
To confirm their suspicion, Dave quickly stood up, and the others understood his intent, and they gestured toward him, silently acknowledging their shared suspicion.
As Dave stepped out, he noticed his scattered shoes on the floor, likely knocked over during the collision, as they were usually neatly arranged on the shoe rack.
Upon exiting the house, he found no trace of anyone except for the lingering echo of footsteps from the departing figure.
