Pokemon: Ascension

Al wasn't sure about his choice. But what could he do? He had to agree with the strange tablet and accept it help. But only until the day when he no longer needs it [I'm sorry, my English is not at the best level, so it's not uncommon for me to use a translator, so be prepared for anything. Pokemon never belonged to me, nor did the art used for this job!]

Chapter 2. Realizing

The guy was sitting stupidly staring at the system message.

User, choose your view

"It didn't even explain anything to me...what does this need from my answer?!" Al mused, frowning. "I'm really stupid...funny"

"Well... my kind is human. I'm a human being," The guy said, raising an eyebrow. He expected that this would be able to move things along, but he was wrong. Nothing happened.

"It's serious...I have no idea what it expects from me at all," Al feels a little angry, but quickly drowns out this feeling. "Do not aggravate the nightmare, if I annoy the system, it will not ignore it, and it is unknown what will happen then"

"Uh...Then, dark elf? A dragon? A ghost?"- Listed Al, counting off his fingers, remembering all the races that he knew. But nothing.

"Is it serious?" The guy sighed, slightly lowering his shoulders.

"Kappa, lion, kitsune, vampire, werewolf, homo sapiens? None of this?" The system not answer, from which the teenager growled hollowly due to irritation and fear that spread deep inside his chest, after which he abruptly exploded from the spot and shouted:

"I do not know what you want from me! Just accept one of my stupid answers, or let this nightmare finally go away and I'll wake up! Medusa Gorgon, Goblin, Water, mermaid, elf, dwarf, fairy, demon, angel...Work something at least!"- Al stopped to catch his breath. Nothing worked. The system still did not give answers and did not explain what was required of him.

"Random...work at least this, Jesus," Al sighed softly, now feeling apathy instead of irritation. Why is he trying? Why does he believe?

"This feeling is unbearable..." The teenager thought, then turned his attention to the system window. It blinked white, after which the system window disappeared. Just for a short moment, but teenager managed to get a little scared of it.

The answer is accepted. The system will automatically select the user's view from the available one. Would you like to make changes to the settings?

"It came back as if nothing had happened...Settings. Stop. Have you had settings all this time!?"- Al shouted in anger, but again did not receive an answer, from which he only clenched his teeth.

"Stop, calm down..." The teenager mentally calmed himself, breathing deeper and closed his eyes. But after a couple of seconds, he opened them, completely calmed down.

"The system can be changed, or rather its settings. If they are large-scale and affect the entire operation of the system, then I will be able to make it more...suitable for me. But on the other hand, I don't really know what her settings are, and what they will look like. Maybe it's not worth risk it once again? I don't want to break the system...I don't want to break things at all, even while in a dream," Al thought, feeling unsure about the system's last sentence.

"No, I don't want to...probably," The teeneger said, shaking his head negatively, looking at the system window. The message inside changed instantly

The answer is accepted. The settings will take effect in a couple of seconds, during which the system will determine your view

"A few seconds... that's the speed," Al whistled, because it was fast enough for him. Fast for any human, or artificial intelligence that he knew in present time.

"Have the settings taken effect, or not yet?" The teenager thought, as suddenly the text in the system window changed again.

The settings are in effect. The user's view has been selected. I wish you a successful game

"Game? What are you talked abo..."- But Al broke off literally in mid-sentence, when suddenly a layer of information flashed through his mind. Information that is difficult to perceive because of a headache and because of which Al had to close my eyes.

Opening his eyes, Al looked at the place he was in with a new look

"This is what death looks like. Interesting," the teenager said and closed his eyes for a more convenient return to the world of the living, but in another world. Al felt no fear, grief, or other emotions. There was an emptiness in his chest when he thought about the situation he found himself in.

However, it is convenient. A new body...a new brain that will find it difficult to perceive any emotions. The first time. After time... Al's emotions will revive again, and he will not feel anything serious about his death. Perhaps a slight disappointment to himself but no more.
