Guy fills out a form online for a CYOA (choose your own adventure) and gets dragged into the movie pirates of the Caribbean.
Fuck I have been bored as shit lately. It's been difficult to find any new good stories and work has been a pain since I have been putting in so many hours because we are short handed.
While scrolling through the internet I came across something called CYOA or jumpchain options, a what would you choose type thing if you had the options. So naturally like an idiot waiting to be ROBd I filled it out and these were my choices.
You start with 1000 choice points - and I chose -
Merchant sailor for 100CP. I could have been a drop in, pirate, or a navy man but hard pass on all of those. I can easily get rich being a merchant and being in the navy would be stifling.
Next I had to roll for my starting location, there were 8 choices and I was stuck rolling port royal.
Next was age. I didn't feel like being overly old so I actually spent 100CP to choose my age and gender, obviously I chose Male and my age was 23 years old.
Next up was to pick skills. My choices for those were
-Steady at the helm, free for merchant sailors. Basically makes you the ideal sailor/captain.
-sharpshooter 100CP basically gives me near perfect aim. Can get 5 shots off a minute with a flintlock musket. Can hit with pinpoint accuracy from 10 feet away with a pistol or shoot someone at a far away ship with a musket with more than a good chance of success.
-Waverider 100CP your knowledge of tides, currents, and all things that flow is incredible. Your course is never off and the wind is always at your back. Your aim is never spoiled by the rocking of your ship, and even more esoteric currents are simple to understand. Further your intuitive sense of the ebb and flow of all things grants you an understanding of markets and even public opinion.
-Uniforms -free for merchant sailors.
-warrant of trade - free for merchant sailor - gives the right to transfer goods, even those normally considered illegal for the area.
-Map of buried treasure 100CP - only you can read and understand.
-Sirens net - 100CP- attractive to fish. Fish will spread from miles around from nowhere.
-Blackbeard's bandolier- 200CP -magical item for storing firearms. Holds 8 different flintlock pistols. They will fire despite the weather, and a new one will appear in any holster after one minute after you have fired the last. If you're fast on the draw you can keep up a withering fire.
-magic compass- 200 CP- like jack sparrows
-ship - free for merchant sailor. -large enough to sail wherever you like. Has 20 cannons and plenty of room. Starts with a 50 man crew for merchant sailors.
That is the best build I could make with the options available anyways. I wish there were more points to spend as there were so many options to choose from. But oh well I think it's time for a long nap as it's getting late and I have work in the morning!
