“Hey, Harvard. How’re you doing?”
The voice roused her. She’d been dozing since lunch. The food hadn’t looked appetizing, although she had tried a few spoonfuls of the soup. The transfer from the hospital back to the prison had taken more energy than she’d realized and the medic wanted her to stay in the infirmary for two or three more days. She still was far from full strength.
Cam opened her eyes and looked up. There, in the doorway, stood Lou. She walked over and sat down in the chair next to the bed, shaking her head. “Well, well. Welcome back. How are you feeling?”
Cam smiled at her. “I’m still a little weak and I have a hard time catching my breath but the doctors say I’m healing quite nicely.”
“Good.” Lou stopped. “We had a little scene here while you were gone. I guess you heard. Lots of changes here. Lots of changes!”
“How’s Gina? Did she get caught up in it?”
