"Did you take out the trash?" Asks my boss, Andrew, as I come back into my workplace

McDonald's

I work at McDonald's

I shake my head as I know that I have no other choice, but how I wish I did

"Hey, Tommy, Madelyn is not going to make it today family emergency. I need you to cover the night shift, and no before you ask," He says as I close my mouth I was going to ask about overtime but I know Andrew is a complete jackass

"I need the money," I whisper to myself as I know that I have to keep this job to pay the bills

I get to work as I keep some stuff ready as I cover the nightshift

I have been working for 6 hours already with the nightshift, I am going to have to stay for another 5

Soon, but not soon enough, my night shift is over and Micheal came in to take my place as I was finishing cleaning the men's restroom

"Grown-ass men, can't even shit in the toilet," I say grumbling in a bad mood at having to clean literal shit from the floor

There wasn't even an attempt to do it in the toilet, the shit was right next to it

I get to my car and get inside

Trying to turn it on I begin begging for my car to turn on

"Please not this," I say tearily as my car doesn't want to turn on

"Oh, please," I say turning the key one last time

This time it barely turns on and I let out a sob of relief

I lean my head on the wheel as this day has been terrible

More than usual

"I am so tired," I say to myself as I take a deep breath

Getting out of the parking lot, I begin to make my way over to my apartment

"Oh, goddammit," I say as I see my gas is a quarter full and I won't get paid until 2 weeks from now

"I am going to have to walk again," I complain as I am even behind on my rent by a month

I just suck it up and keep going to my apartment

"I could walk one day and then use my car the next," I suggest to myself and then a good idea comes to my head

"Could sell my car and buy a bike," I say out loud as that is a good idea as I live rather close to McDonald's

Getting to the apartment complex, I raise my little card for the gate to open and soon I park my car and then I hear something that makes me want to cry

My car ends up shutting down by itself as soon as I park and some smoke comes out the hood

I rub my face with my hands as tears begin to come out of my eyes

I hold it in as I get to my apartment, deciding to deal with it tomorrow as I am exhausted

Opening the door I grab a letter with the word notice written in red and I know that it is because I am behind on rent, I go inside and quickly close the door behind me and my stomach grumbles in hunger

"Of course," I say to myself as I go over to my little kitchen area and open the fridge only to see water bottles and some eggs that I am sure are expired by now

Getting a water bottle out, I bring it over to the electric stove and bring a kettle out

Pouring the water into the kettle and turning on the electric stove to heat up the water, I grab one of the last 4 Instant Cup noodles and place it on the little plastic table

I sit down on a foldable cheap plastic chair as I let out a shuddering breath

My eyes feel heavy as I am exhausted

Feeling my throat parched I grab another water bottle and take a sip from it

"Remember at least 2 bottles of water a day," I say to myself as I go over to the stove and turn it off as I grab the kettle and pour the boiling water into the cup

Waiting for it to be ready, I then eat it keeping the hunger at bay for a while longer

Going over to my bedroom, I crash into my bead as I finally go to sleep

#THE NEXT DAY#

"Ugh," Is the first thing I say as I wake up as my stomach complains about hunger

"Can't eat anything until midday," I say as I have to ration my food for as long as possible

Ignoring my hunger I go wash myself in the shower and get ready for the day

To entertain myself, I turn on the TV which is rather old and flip through the channels

Somehow finding the Ben 10 Alien Force pilot episode

I smile as I watch Ben looking at the Omnitrix

I watch the rest of the episode and see how he tries to use it against Kevin and the Forever Knights only for the screen to turn to static as I get up

"No man, not now," I say as I go over to the TV and try tapping it

When that doesn't work, I try to give it a good smack which seems to work as I see the Omnitrix recalibrating, then it turns to static again

This time though, I try to tap it on the screen only for my hand to go through the screen, and in panic, my hand closes around something, then I pull it out as something latches itself to my left arm

Falling on my butt, I let out a brief scream of surprise at that as I move back from the TV

The TV goes back to normal as I stare at the TV showing the rest of the episode

Shivers go up my back as I feel a rather comfortable weight on my left wrist

I bring up my wrist and I gasp in shock as I see a certain watch

"What the fuck dude," I whisper as I stare at the Omnitrix on my wrist

I gulp as fear begins to crawl up my spine

Getting to my feet, I just stare at it for a bit

I rub the Omnitrix on the sides to try and see if it is the real deal

I feel my eyes widen as I see and hear the Omnitrix move

The iconic noise it makes, the faceplate rising up and the resulting hologram that appears drives the point home

"I have the Omnitrix," I say out loud as I sit down on the chair

Looking at the hologram, I can see that Lodestar is an alien I have access to

Excitement creeps up on me as I turn the dial and see the next alien on the list

Chromastone

Going over the list, I quickly think about the aliens, I can use

Swampfire, Four-arms, Big Chill, XLR8, Jet-Ray, Chromastone, Echo Echo, Way Big, Brainstorm, and Lodestar

I go to my room, close the door, and lock it as I begin to think about it rationally once more

I reached into the TV by 'accident' and somehow got the Omnitrix

It can't be a coincidence

People's hands don't just randomly reach into TVs

I stare at the Omnitrix as feelings begin to crop up in me

I look around my room and see that I have nothing to my name that is worth a damn

An idea begins to form in my mind as I think more about it

With the Omnitrix, I can do so much

I can fix my life

Looking down at my clothes, I see that my current shirt has some holes near the bottom

I have been running ragged for a while now, and I am tired of it

I am so tempted to try out the Omnitrix, but I need to learn more about it

I go over to my computer and boot it up

I crack my fingers as I look for information about the Omnitrix
