In the prairies, located miles away from the nearest city, lies a peaceful nursing home by the
riverside.. The place was called "Sweet Housing".
In the housing, there was a group of grumpy old men that was group up together by the
television set.
"I can't believe it! How did he do it?! He made the shot from 2km away! How did he know he
would appear there!" said the host on the television
"Impossible! There is just no way." said his co-host
"They have done it folks "Team Renegade" have just won the whole e-sport series." said the
host
As things were dwindling down the group of old men started speaking to one another.
"Did you see that? That is my grandson I tell you! I taught him that." said Ben G. as he was
laughing out loud
Ben G., 72 years old, gold medalist sniper, blacksmith, and avid gamer that was once crowned
3 times in the pro leagues for his quick reflexes. Still quite healthy given his age.
"Oh what are you even talking about? Your grandon hasn't even visited you in years." said Jay
D. as he snorted
Jay D., 68 years old, gold medalist karate master, old police officer, and avid gamer that once
took down 20 people all by himself with two guns to be crowned king in a first person shooter.
He has a bad back, so he is using a cane to assist him in walking.
"What do you know? Say Levi what do you think." said Ben
"... I… think… he… isn't… to... shabby… But… I… feel… that… he… is… still… too…
careless…" said Levi P. very slowly and shuttering at times.
Levi M., 74 years old, gold medalist volleyball player, bomb disposal specialist, and avid gamer
that was once first place on the leaderboard of the popular game where you only throw and set
bombs. He is a tall and skinny fellow.
"Hmph, too careless is right, if it was me your grandson would have been down on the floor with
in seconds." said Richard L.
Richard L., 70 years old, Judo Gold medalist, chef, and avid gamer that took the crown 5 years
in a row and was crowned undefeated in his favorite fighting game. He is now a plump old man
sitting on the couch.
"Slow, way too slow! He could have ended it 3mins ago! Didn't he see that the enemy moving
right through the building, just then he could have blown down the place and taken down his
entire team if timed right." said Nicky P.
Nicky P., 71 years old, Nascar racing champion, likes all rocket ships, and avid gamer, unrivaled
in driving games. A very hyper active old man.
In the corner of the room reading a book was Ian H. He was sitting there quietly flipping through
his book. Occasionally glancing over to look at his friends talking or more like arguing against
one another.
"Hey, Ian! What do you think?" said everyone in union
Slowly putting his book down. He went up to them and watched the replay. He pointed out
several areas on the map on the T.V. screen.
"If he went there, and his teammates have lured them to this area where all gasoline tanks were
hidden. He could have ended the game within 15mins." said Ian
"Woah, just as expected on you Ian. The smart one of the bunch of us." said everyone while
nodding
Ian H. 73 years old, wears glasses, looks normal, No other information on record.
"Ok, you old timers. Stop chatting it is time to take your pills." said the nurse that was in charge
of them.
They all slowly got moving one by one lining up to pick up their medication. After taking the pills
they headed back to the room. They were all chatting about their past. Bragging to each other
how they were when they were at their primes that they can beat each other at their own
games. Laughing all about it.
"Hey, Ian what about you, did you play any games when you were younger?" said Jay
"Stop being so careless Jay. He will tell you about his past when he wants to." said Ben
"It is ok, it is all in the past now. It doesn't matter anymore. I will tell you about it." said Ian
Ian was the lone survivor of a plane crash that happened that happened in the ocean. He end
up on an unknown island. Days past, then months, even then no help has ever arrived. He was
23 years old back then, it wasn't until 40 years has passed that a plane spotted the tiny island
and that there were signs of human activity on the island. For 40 years Ian struggled hard to
survivor, eating whatever he could get his hands on, hunting animals on the island for meat,
fishing in the sea, and even resorting to growing his own food. He has developed an instinct like
no other.
"After I was found, I realized I was all alone in this world, everyone I knew was already gone.
That is why I haven't actually played any games since I was young. I didn't get any settlement
money from the company that was responsible because by the time I was found, the company
had already went bankrupt." said Ian
"Oh, dang… That is some rough stuff." said Ben with his eyes opened wide
"Since I had nowhere to go and was too old to be working, I was placed here in "Sweet
Housing" with a small stipend every month. I live a very leisure life now. It wasn't all too bad I
got to meet you guys. It was the best thing that has ever happened to me in this life." said Ian
Everyone looked at Ian with all sentimental eyes.
Knock, konck
"Hey, stop being so noisy, there are people trying to sleep here." said one of the other residents
in the building
They all immediately quiet down and went back to watching television.
Suddenly a big announcement show up on the screen.
"Breaking news! Breaking news! Gaming corp. just announced the world's first 100% immersion
gaming system. They claim to have recreated 100% realism in virtual reality with no drawbacks!"
"The first game that will come out with it is a new e-sports title called "Guns! StrikeBack" a
e-sports title with classics such as teams of 6 duking it out with 20 other teams on an island, last
man standing, 1 verus 1, capture the flag mode, and Team vs Team."
"Sales of the system will begin in a few days and it will cost a lot $9,999 per capsule module for
the 100% immersion one. $500 for the 95% and $300 for the 90% helmet versions. "
After that people all over the world was in excitement.
Back in "Sweet housing"
"Guys… I… this… is… our… chance…" said Levi
"What do you mean by that Levi?" said Richard
"What… I… mean… is… we… can… show… them… up…" said Levi
"I think what Levi is trying to say is, let's show the world we aren't dead yet!" said Nicky
"Let's show those whippersnappers youngins who the best of the best really is!" said Ben
"I am sure your grandson is going to join as well, are you fine with that." said Jay
"Like you said, he hasn't visited me in years already, it is time he gets a whooping from his
Grandpa Ben." said Ben
"It will be like being reborn, into the bodies of your younger selves with everything intact? Is that
what you guys are trying to get at?!" said Ian with a surprised face
"It is also great that we already conveniently, have 6 people here that we can form a team with."
said Richard
"You mean you guys are including me on this?" said Ian
"Of course we are." said in union
"But I can't afford to buy one." said Ian
"I will buy it for you, my friend Ian" said Nicky
"But it cost so much though. What will your family members say?" said Ian
"Forget about them, they haven't visited me in years, same as with the rest of us. Besides it is
my money I can do what I want with it." said Nickly
Everyone nodded in agreement.
"We... should... start... preparing…" said Levi
They logged onto the website and started reading the available information. Then preorder a
capsule for each one of them costing a whooping 60 grand. They didn't want no excuses just in
case they lose. Then went to sleep as their medication kicked in
