Oliver who had never thought he would one day be waiting for someone, was pacing around his car waiting to pick up Austin his personal assistant and only friend from the airport, Austin had been away on his yearly 2 months leave, this period had been horrible for Oliver, talking to no one for 2 good months could surely make a normal person go psycho, but Oliver was different.
He was so happy he would finally be getting Austin by his side for the next 10 months, he was slowly loosing his patience, why hasn't Austin's plane landed?, did something bad happen?, what could've gone wrong?, this were the things that ran through Oliver's troubled mind.
"hey! missed me"Austin said has he patted Oliver on the shoulder, Oliver who was annoyed just shrugged off Austin's hand and got into his car
"you get in, or find your way back home, moron"Oliver said in an annoyed tone, Austin threw his head back in laughter, this boss of his was really savage, this was just one of his numerous unfulfilled threats.
Austin got into the car and Oliver sped off, Austin Wyatt was the only one who could handle this man, he's the only one who can make Oliver wait and still walk away with his body intact. He was the only one who understood the type of person Oliver was, he was just a young CEO who really didn't care about anything, just living carefree but being wary of every living organism.
When they got home, Austin went straight up to his room, it was just as he left it, but it seemed cleaner than expected, like it had been cleaned every single day, don't tell me that that living stone actually cleaned my room? Austin smiled at that thought, he was going to have fun teasing him about this.
Oliver slumped on his bed as he got lost in thoughts, he really cared about Austin was like a brother he never had, the only friend he had, the only family he could rely on, he felt guilty for not being able to share his secret with Austin, but it was because he was scared, what if Austin refused to be his friend once he found out the truth, but he would have to tell him someday, he just needed to gather up courage.
"aren't you going to eat, or do you plan on sulking all day"Austin teased as he entered Oliver's room, he noticed that Oliver's attention want even in the room, he smirked as he decided to jump on him.
Oliver let out a screech when he felt an heavy weight place atop his well built chest
"you moron, what the fuck are you doing"Oliver cursed as he pushed Austin away from him, Austin hit him on his shoulder and a friendly wrestle took place with Oliver pinning Austin on the bed, winning yet again.
He got off the bed and went to the dining, the delicacies placed in front were mouth watering, Austin joined him as they both had lunch together in silence.
"there's a meeting with the company shareholders tomorrow, you should get ready"Austin instructed and Oliver just nodded in reply as he kept staring at his phone.
"what's wrong, any problem"Austin asked looking concerned, but still got no reply from Oliver, which got Austin more worried, he shoved Oliver's arm a little to get it attention and it finally worked .
"cancel the meeting, we'll be visiting a rural area, I have something important to do there, I'll be gone for over half a year"Oliver informed as Austin's brow knitted in confusion, why the sudden decision, Aston couldn't help but think.
"I'll go with you, no buts, I can't let you go alone, you'll die from loneliness without me"Austin said and Oliver could only accept, knowing he couldn't change Austin's mind, I guess the time to tell Austin the truth was coming, Oliver thought and just sighed, hope for the best, prepare for the worst.
The next day they were already prepared, since it was in the rural area, they were no airports, therefore they had to go by road, the wind blew into the car as they sat in it, they were so silent you could hear a pin drop, Oliver was thinking of ways to tell Austin the truth and the reason for this trip, while Austin was busy making up scenerios of why they had to go to Dexta, he didn't know Oliver had any history with the place, or did he.
Austin had already prepared reservations for them, he rented an apartment, and it would be theirs for the next 4 months, the place was okay It was a three bedroom apartment, with a kitchen, dining area and a living room, it also had a small study Incase they wanted to do anything related to work while they were here.
"you're truly sensible, as expected of someone I chose to be my assistant"Oliver praised Austin, more like himself though, such a narcissist.
Oliver truly was the hardest person to survive with, you'd die if you spent even a day with him, but Austin was an exception, he was able to cope with the unpredictable character of his boss.
Actually Austin had been living in poverty with his family for a while, but Oliver found him and took him and his family off the streets, now his mother, sister, wife and son were all living comfortably.
Oliver was is saviour he was grateful and would take any chance to repay him, but how could he, which help did the great Oliver need, so he decided to stay by his side, he was sure the opportunity would come one day.
His 3 year old son was also like him, already smart and also willing to repay Oliver for his help. Oliver loved little Owen, since his behavior gave him a deja Vu of himself as a kid, what a good son-in-law material, Oliver would usually think, but that would be if he ever got married.
Austin and Oliver were quick to settle down which gave them the chance to sit by the river bank to watch the sunset, for the first time in a long while he felt like letting all the tears he's held back for over 200 decades fall.
His life seemed to be the best to people looking from the outside, but on the inside he has always been miserable, living for 2000 years without a real reason to was frustrating and the thought that he might have to watch Austin grow old and die was killing him.
Austin turned to look at his boss and could clearly see the tears threatening to fall, he knew this friend of his was going through a though time, since he had no family to turn to, he only had him, his family was also his, he would try his best to always support him.
He moved closer to Oliver and squeezed his arm gently as a way of comforting him, Oliver looked up at him and flashes him one of his rare gentle, calm and grateful smile, which made Austin rather satisfied.
"I'll always be there for you, no matter what, you saved me and I'll do the same for you a hundred times more"Austin whispered lightly into Oliver's ear, Oliver looked rather unconvinced as he shook is head in disbelief.
"will you still stuck to your word when you find out the secret I've been keeping from you"Oliver asked with a hint of fear in his voice which Austin easily noticed.
"I don't know what you're hiding from me, when I find out I might be annoyed at first but trust me I'll always come back to you"Austin promised and Oliver's expression finally became calm, they stared into the night sky.
It was stary the moon wasn't out yet, but the reflection of the stars against the water was very beautiful, Oliver silently wished to always have Austin by his side as they both appreciated the true beauty of nature.
