Will her trouble ever end?

Amanda layed back on the bed and tried to think of what next to do. She was sure there was nothing she could say or do to convince Dave, he was fuming with anger and needed his alone time to think, she was partially feeling guilty for everything happening to her at the moment, if she hadn't denied her husband all those months maybe God wouldn't have decided to punish her this way. She was sick, her stomach was growing, she was constantly hungry but no appetite to eat, her husband hates her , she cannot tell if what is in her womb was a baby or something else. But since everyone thinks she cheated with Goodluck or he had somehow managed to drug her the day she visited him, she decided to pay him another visit to ask him, though deep within her she was very sure he would never hurt her like that.

When he finally confessed his loved for her and they started dating secretly, he left all his girlfriends because of her, he started acting more like a husband to her, she wanted all of him but he was giving her a part. She tried to seduce him after she entered her final class in the secondary school, she wanted to experience what her classmates kept talking about, but Goodluck would never allow her loose her pride in such a manner, he would always promise to make her first time special in their marital bed. Though it didn't stop them from kissing and cuddling and whenever they were among people they would only satisfy themselves by stealing glances at each other, that was the beautiful of what they felt for each other. They wanted each other in every possible way, but their future would be bleak if they decide to enjoy few minute pleasure in the presence only to destroy the  bliss  of a life time. She continued to wait and to hope for something that never happened.

Amanda looked around her room, everyone had left her alone, she felt truely alone and like always she started crying again, she wished she could wake up from this night mare, it was taking too long, she needed to wake up to face her life, she wanted to prove to Dave, and every other person that must have thought about her in a negative way that she was better than that.

She grabbed her purse and headed out to Goodluck's place. She needed to know, she couldn't continue guessing, she needed someone to hear her out and probably help her she needed closure and also a reassurance that Goodluck would never stoop so low.

The ride to Goodluck's house was smooth and refreshing as she sat at the back seat of the Uber, she wished she could sleep for a while, her eyes were weary and itching, she needed rest, after all she was pregnant, she was supposed to be resting and taking medications to ensure a healthy baby is born, but here she was running from pillar to post trying to find her baby Daddy. Who would have thought her life would turn this way. Who would have thought that a day would come when Dave would spit so much hateful words to her? But she couldn't blame him, he was hurt, and it was evident from the way he called her wicked, he was indeed broken.

The car stopped infront of Goodluck's house and not after she finished paying did she remember that she hadn't called before coming, so she decided to sit at the cafe opposite his house to call him before making her way into the house.

Grabbing some burger was just what she had in mind, she ordered for her snacks while she dialed the number, he picked at first ring.

"I never thought you would call me" He spoke up almost immediately. Since the last time they met, she had not called, but he somehow understood her plight, she was a married woman now, and she could not be calling him, knowing how they used to be in the past.

"Hi to you too and good day"

She responded smiling to herself and wondering when Goodluck would learn to say the right things first. Sensing what he was about to do she quickly said..

"Don't even try to say hello now because it is already late, I am at the cafe opposite your house, I had gotten here before I remembered I didn't call you before coming, I want to see you, I hope it isn't a problem?

She said trying to sound free, not wanting him to suspect anything. If she didn't sound that way, he would ake it to the cafe in less than five minutes, and she didn't want that, she wanted him, to take his time, and finish whatever it was, that he was doing. Not like she was going to a home, where her husband, would welcome her with living arms. Amanda waited for his response which took quite a while.

"Not a problem at all, though I am not home now, but would be home in the next twenty minutes"

"That ok, it's enough time for me to finish my  meal, see you then".

She sounded so free and happy, she didn't sound like she had any thing bothering her at all, which was why Goodluck couldn't suspect anything.

She was about to take her first bite when her phone vibrated, she looked at the caller but was shocked to see it was her brother.

Oh No!

She exclaimed acknowledging what had happened. Dave had called her brother and told her brother everything, and now he was calling her to confirm it, she looked at her phone again as his call continued, she contemplated if she should pick it or not, then she decided to ignore it.

She never wanted them to find out that way, she wanted to find out what was happening first before telling her parents about it, but Dave had allowed his rage to get the better part of him.

Will her trouble ever end.
