The night sky was as dark as ink, and it was blanketed by blinking stars.

In the Anping County office.

The dim light from the lantern in Ji Siadao's hand revealed his swollen and bruised face. He was standing in front of the county office backdoor, waiting anxiously.

The backdoor opened, and a slim elderly man with a face full of a beard came out with his meticulous blue silken robe. When he saw Jia Sidao's swollen face, he said in shock, "What happened to you?"

"Uncle! You must help me!" The grievance on Jia Sidao's face overflowed when he saw the elderly man. 

"It's Luo Hong of the Luo Residence. He beat me up on the street in broad daylight!" Jia Sidao complained. His face was covered in tears and snot as he voiced his grievance.

He hated Luo Hong to his bones. It was because of Luo Hong's interference that the beautiful Yao Jing had escaped from his grasp and he was beaten up into a swollen pig, which had humiliated him in front of the public.

The elderly man was Wang Long, the master of records of Anping County Office. He had worked under several county magistrates before and had quite the status in Anping.

"Long Hoe from the Luo Residence?" Wang Long frowned after Jia Sidao finished expressing his grievance.

"Young Lord Long Hoe is known for his kindness in Anping and you stumbled in his path? The autumn examinations are around the corner. Why are you outside causing trouble instead of studying at home?" Wang Long scolded him in disappointment.

"Uncle, you must help me. I cannot endure this beating in silence!" Jia Sidao continued crying.

Wang Long sighed at his nephew's pathetic appearance. He stroked his long beard.

"The Luo Residence possesses a huge amount of wealth in Anping, and they have control over five districts in Anping. Their wealth isn't to be underestimated, and they are a well-known charitarian. With their outstanding reputation, it's not easy to get to them," Wang Long thought as he squinted his eyes.

On the other hand, Jia Siadao felt a little disappointed by his uncle's words.

A quick thought later, he moved closer to Wang Long and jumbled up the facts. He even told his uncle about Yao Jing's beauty.

Wang Long sighed deeply after he heard what Jia Sidao said. Then, he squinted his eyes and said, "You don't have to be anxious. Your mother…and your father are my friends. I'll think of a way to help you with this.

"I heard that Young Lord Long Hoe has just come back from outside the city, but all the guards who followed him were dead. Maybe something happened to them.

"Evil lurks outside the city, and cases of slaughters in the small villages are getting out of control. The emissary that the Court of Judicial Review sent over is currently doing an investigation in the office. If we are able to link that young lord with the evil existence, given how merciless and strict the court is, he might just…Hehehe." Wang Long stroked his beard and chuckled sinisterly.

Jia Sidao was over the moon when he heard that. He had heard of the infamous Court of Judicial Review from the capital when he had gone there for the exam. 

If the emissary from the court had his eyes on Luo Hong, even if the latter could escape alive, he would be crippled.

Luo Hong cultivated his Phantom Shadow in the study for a while. He concentrated the ominous energy at his dantian.

It was then that the servant came to the room to notify him about dinner. Luo Hong stretched his body and went out of the study.

In the living room, Butler Chen and Luo Xiaoxiao were already at the table which was blanketed with dishes.

Little Douhua was serving the dishes one after another with her forehead covered in sweat. She almost ran into Luo Hong and was frightened by his arrival to the extent that the dish in her hand almost fell off.

In his green robe, Butler Chen sat there with his back straight like a pole. He had a celadon cup in his hand and the alcohol inside was being swirled.

When the little commotion attracted his attention, his attention landed on Luo Hong. 

After a quick glance, Butler Chen's hand that was holding the celadon cup froze.

"His qi is flowing smoothly, and it is bright in between his brows. The yin aura has weakened while the yang aura is emanating strongly. What's this? It's only been half a day. How did my young lord change this much?"

Butler Chen subtly took a sip of alcohol, but his heart was fluttering.

Although he was not an expert in observing qi, he was able to notice the change of aura within Luo Hong.

The human body should have a balance of yin and yang energy. 

Earlier, before he went out, Luo Hong had ominous energy swirling around him with the energy concentrating in between his brows. Now, the energy had faded and the yang energy had taken over.

Butler Chen smiled. 'Maybe this is the change brought about after the young lord has punished the evildoers.'

Luo Hong sat down, not caring about Butler Chen sizing him up curiously. He looked at his sister, Luo Xiaoxiao, and grinned softly.

'This sister of mine is really a talented person and I'm in a need of someone talented!'

Luo Xiaoxiao was chewing on a juicy drumstick. She grew cautious when she noticed Luo Hong sizing her up. He must be eyeing her drumstick!

"Xiaoxiao, how's the story about Xu Xian and the White Snake I told you earlier? Is it nice? I still have a lot of interesting and lovely stories up my sleeve. Why don't I tell you more after dinner?" Luo Hong said with a smile.

Luo Xiaoxiao grunted and continued eating without a word.

"If you don't want to, I'll accompany you instead. You can point at one of the servants and tell her to tell you a story. If she can't come up with an interesting story to satisfy you, you can beat her with the cane. Aim for her backside and beat her as hard as you can!" Luo Hong looked sinister when he teased the little girl.

Luo Hong considered Luo Xiaoxiao's naughty nature a rare resource. He did not want to hold her back. Instead, he wanted her to be as naughty as possible since it would be the fastest way for him to reach a higher Sin Level!

His words shocked the servants around them. Even the little girl was dumbfounded.

'Brother will accompany me to cane the servants? No, this isn't right! He must be finding an excuse to beat me instead!'

Luo Xiaoxiao actually held a grudge against him after he told her the story that physically 'moved' her. The little girl knew what was going on. His mouth that was chewing the drumstick froze and the drumstick no longer felt tasty anymore.

Her petite body shook while her big googly eyes teared up. She cried out loud in the next instant, "Brother, I'm sorry. I won't simply cane the servants anymore…I'll be an obedient girl."

Luo Hong was rendered speechless. "No, no, you don't have to be obedient. A girl of your age must be naughty. You must cause trouble for everyone! You are my favorite little villain!"

'If you are obedient, where am I supposed to get my Sin Level?'

Butler Chen almost choked on his alcohol when he heard the conversation.

Luo Xiaoxiao was shocked, so she cried even louder and the chicken meat started to fall out her mouth. 'Brother must think I'm a little naughty girl. He'll surely cane me if I fall for it!'

"The young lady is a little naughty, but she knew what's right and what's wrong now. My lord, stop scaring her. She knows her place now. She will be an obedient little girl from now on." Butler Chen put down his celadon cup and quickly mediated the situation.

He was quite satisfied with Luo Hong's method.

Luo Xiaoxiao was infamous for being naughty in the house. Butler Chen never thought that Luo Hong would use such a subtle way to teach her, but it seemed to work wonders.

The servants around them immediately knew what Luo Hong was trying to do after Butler Chen explained it as such. The young lord was teaching the young lady in an unorthodox way, and he was not actually going to cane them whatsoever. Everyone sighed a breath of relief.

They were deeply impressed by his methods and admired him even more. As expected of the humble and easy-going young lord, his methods of educating his sister were unusual.

The little imp shut her mouth when she heard what Butler Chen said. She continued munching on her drumstick, but her nose was red, and tears as big as peas trickled down her puffy cheeks. She nodded like a hummingbird.

Luo Hong felt exhausted when Luo Xiaoxiao decided to become a good girl. 'Fine. I'll unleash the inner evil in you in the future.'

Yao Jing silently served the dishes on the table.

Luo Hong glanced at her and said, "Sit down and eat with us."

Surprised, Yao Jing shook her hands and said, "N-no thank you."

Luo Hong did not say anything. He looked stiff when he glanced at Yao Jing. Then, he grabbed her bowl and put a drumstick in it before he slammed the bowl in front of her. He sounded strict and resolute as he instructed, "Sit down and eat!"

Butler Chen looked at Luo Hong curiously.

Yao Jing merely puckered her lips and sat down at the edge of the chair slowly. "I-I'll eat, my lord. Don't be angry." 

Luo Hong then nodded in satisfaction.

'I knew it. She's really an easy-to-bully target.'

He picked up his bowl of rice and started shoveling the rice into his mouth using a pair of chopsticks. He then noticed Yao Jing subtly nudging the bowl with the drumstick with her slender finger.

Bang! 

Luo Hong angrily slammed his bowl on the table after a few mouthfuls of rice, shocking Yao Jing. She quickly took the drumstick and started eating.

Butler Chen watched in silence and he shook his head with a smile. 'Kids these days really know how to have fun.'

Halfway through dinner, Zhao Donghan rushed in from the entrance. His scarred face looked serious and his eyes were overflowing with worry. There was even a tinge of anger in his tone.

"My lord, Butler Chen, there are a few officers outside the house and they are here to…arrest my lord to bring to the yamen1."
