Day-2 A Dangerous Thing

The sun shone in from the sunroof and awoke a very sleepy Jay.

"Ugh..."

Jay groaned and flipped over, he covered his head with a pillow in an attempt to block out the sun. He failed to completely block it out and gave in to the light and started to get up for the day. Jay had forgotten the fact that he was dead and in another world, so he went to where his closet was and opened it expecting his clothes. To Jay's disappointment he was in another world and his closet didn't come with him. Jay grabbed a plain white shirt and put it on, as well as a pair of black denim shorts. The clothes were a bit big, but they worked fine. He started walking back down the hall and into the kitchen for some food.

"Had a good night's rest?"

Jay was awoken out of his daydreams by Jasmine's voice, the smell of buttery pancakes and sweet strawberry sauce.

"Thank you, I slept pretty good. Is Ace here yet?"

"At the table, dear."

Jasmine pointed towards the dinning room and continued cooking.

"Good morning Ace."

"Good morning."

"..."

After our greetings we sat in an awkward silence with neither of us knowing what to say.

"So-"

"Ho-"

"..."

We both tried to break the silence but ended up making it worse.

"Cough...You go first."

Ace said with an obviously fake cough. Jay was grateful nonetheless.

"How do I reactivate my talent?"

"Oh that just imagine using it somehow."

Jay felt the explanation was a bit lackluster, but remembered he had Shade to ask as well.

Shade how can I use my talent?

'You can use your ability by closing your eyes and imagining yourself fading behind either a certain object or lifeform. If you don't know what to pick imagine yourself fading and I will choose the nearest thing.

Following Shade's description, I closed my eyes and started to imagine myself fading behind Jasmine. When I opened my eyes I was behind Jasmine! Well not exactly behind... I was laying on the floor, and once again had turned that unpleasant shade of gray.

What the hell?! One second Jay is in front of me the next he's gone!

"CLINK! CLATTER!"

"Honey?!"

Ace couldn't see what had happened but still heard most things.

"I'm fine Ace, but did you know Jay's talent allows him to hide?"

Ace got up from the table and walked into the kitchen, only to see Jasmine all by herself.

*A few moments earlier*

"Cool"

That was the only thing Jay could say at the moment. After he had his fill of being on the ground, he asked Shade how to turn off his talent.

'You turn it off by thinking of yourself in color.'

Jay was a bit confused, but still carried out Shade's instructions.

He opened his eyes and was about to look around to see if he had changed places when he felt a sharp and heavy thing stab his stomach.

"Agh..."

"Oh my goodness!" I am so, so, sorry! Are you okay?"

Jasmine replied to the groan and checked who it was. Jay, her guest.

"I'm fine..."

"Honey!?"

"I'm fine Ace, but did you know Jay's talent allows him to hide?"

Jasmine had already took her foot off, so Jay decided it would be a good time to get up. Jay examined the weapon of mass destruction, and found it was just Jasmine's high-heels.

Heels are a dangerous thing. Jay concluded with a shiver and a flashback of the pain. Jay decided to try his ability on an object. He chose the toaster and followed the process he used before. He was behind the toaster and noticed Ace walking into the kitchen.
