Chapter 1: The Beginning.

(Before anyone says anything yes this story has some similarities to my vampire system mainly because I got inspired by that story and am a big fan of that story but that doesn't mean I'm gonna copy MVS I'm just putting this in here before anyone says I'm copying MVS. Also you won't learn more about the MC's backstory until much later in the story)

"What is the best way to solve conflict?. Through negotiation? Through peace? Through reasoning?. Each one of these could be considered the right answer but if you ask me the best way to solve a conflict is by being the strongest man in the room. In war and history the weak will always be treated like crap while the strong will always be depicted as some sort of godlike figure even if their just some guy who barely knows how to fight. That's because throughout history the winners decide what is fact and what is wrong even if they are wrong."

This was a quote written by Ryu the grandmaster of the sentinels.

Centuries ago in the year 9999 when humanity had finally entered an era of world peace and had finally achieved faster then light travel. So with great pride humanity sent their first large ship into space and traveled beyond their solar system to explore the stars.

However humanity quickly learned how fucked they were.

It didn't even take a week for humanities ship to get torn to shreds by an alien ship belonging to a violent alien species known as the Vulcans who had already conquered a large chunk of the galaxy. Shortly after this attack they began invading earth. Each Vulcan was powerful enough to be considered a planetary threat and humanities advanced technology could barely keep up but to make matters worse an event known as "The dark day" took place which frightened both humanity and Vulcan alike.

The sky turned a pitch black color even though it was the middle of the day as a pitch black portal of unknown origin appeared in orbit covering the sun itself as supernatural creatures fell from the sky. Monsters that could only be described as demons from hell's worst nightmare fell from the portal and wreaked havoc on the world and in only a month over a billion people were already dead but humanity refused to go down without a fight as they declared war on these beasts and begun a war that would later be known as the great holy war.

However they quickly realized how unprepared they were because even with there advanced weaponry they were only able too kill there weaker beasts as the stronger demons were absolute monsters on the battlefield It wasn't uncommon the stronger demons too wipe out entire armies with there strange magical abilities and even the toughest and most hardcore soldiers were turned into crying messes as they were torn limb from limb.

Surrounded on all sides by both demonic and alien threats alike humanity somehow despite these ridiculous odds humanity was somehow able too keep on fighting for 300 years but humanity were at a huge disadvantage as everyday they lost more and more territory as there camps were wiped out by the Vulcans and the demons got closer. But everything changed when "they" appeared. In a massive explosion of light and energy a group of twelve god like individuals revealed themselves too the world who called themselves the master knights as they wiped out an entire army of high ranking demons.

Shortly after these master knights led by a man named Ryu began working alongside several branches of the military as they began fighting against the demon hordes and Vulcan armies and shortly after a phenomena known as the awakening happened world wide as most of the population woke up with the ability too access "status screens" allowing them too wield magical abilities just like the master knights. So under Ryu's command and tutelage humanity was taught how too wield there new abilities and the strongest members of humanity became known as the sentinels and were led by the 12 master knights and Ryu as they began fighting back against the demons and vulcans yet it still took humanity another 100 years of non-stop war as they fought to regain there lost territory.

However humanity finally won when the strongest man in history the leader of the sentinels the dragon slayer. A man by the name of Ryu they were a legendary figure who challenged the demon king the leader of all demons a creature who even the mighy Vulcan's feared too a duel which they accepted and after a legendatry battle that shook the very planet too the core literally the battle ended in a draw as Ryu defeated the demon king and a large chunk of there personal army at the cost of his own life. This display of power was enough to scare off even the Vulcans who retreated back too their planets while the remaining sentinels enraged by the death of their leaders began slaughtering the last few remnants of demonkind.

But even after taking care of the demon threat humanity still wanted more so they once again flew into space but this time they were prepared. In the span of a few months was able to conquer over a hundred worlds which not even the vulcans dare to attack.

Its been a century since the great holy war between demons and Vulcans and humanity has been able to repel both the Vulcan and demon threat time and time again. And now humanity has entered an era of magic where the strong rule the weak.

And since the humanity itself is still under threat of the Vulcans who at any moment the world government has decided that all 18 year old's must spend the next three years in military academies to not only prepare the next generation for the potential war that could happen at any moment. But to teach the next generation how to properly wield their magical abilities.
