Chapter 494 Success or Failure

When the last of the trials were done. Maximum felt relief but anxiety came across him when a trail of blood came into view. He ran forward and a tale of Iris dying came into view.

"IRIS!" Rex shouted with anger and sadness.

Maximum turned his head to see an arrow pierced through her at the heart.

Rex decided to use Demon King of Annihilation's Rampage to flatten the enemy. Maximum kneeled down to try to help his daughter. Loud explosions were going off and the only thing on Maximum's mind was, how?

How did this come into place?

How did the child of his dreams seem to die in such a state?

How is this related to him?

Before he could try to answer any of those questions. An arrow pierced him through the shoulder.

He turned his head to see an archer getting prepared for the next shot.

"Water Qi Maximum's Secret"

The sky turned dark. Rex was rampaging and not caring about what was going on.

A vortex of pure darkness seemed to sweep across the battlefield. When everything was said and done, more carnage came from Rex. The decisive kills came from Maximum.

"For any who dare to hurt my precious!" Maximum roared.

The vortex seemed to bend to the will of the caster. It went and found more enemies for the kill.

Maximum felt the life-force draining from him. This technique was a life or death technique something that each of the Sect Leaders decided to make after Rex got engaged to each of their daughters.

"For my precious, my life will go and you will live." Maximum said giving his essence through a kiss.

As the vortex ended, Maximum laid across his daughter dead.

As Maximum felt his eyes open. He stood before another trial of blood. He slowly made his way up. He realized that his life-force was returning. He honestly did not want to his technique again.

It drained him both mentally and physically too much while having to give his essence to his daughter.

As he walked forward, he found another battlefield. This one was with his Wife trying to give birth.

"CALM DOWN! I'LL CALM DOWN WHEN YOU TELL ME THAT BASTARD TO HURRY UP WITH THE MEDICINE!" Maximum's Wife roared in agony.

Maximum went in and told the doctor to hurry up. Maximum tried to comfort his wife. She was not pleased that he had been gone for too long.

"Do not worry. My plans and activities are done until our new child is old enough." Maximum said with certainty.

"Says the man who will get a call to go hunt demons in three days!" Maximum's wife shouted.

Maximum chuckled. He knew something like that would happen.

"Mom, I hear dad got you tried up again!" Iris ran into the room.

"My precious daughter."

Each of them kissed each other.

"I am glad that the family is still loving each other."

The newborn child cried his eyes out. Tears of happiness came from Maximum.

They family was happy for it to be a boy. Maximum got the decision to name their son.

"Let him take after my name, Long Mùchén."

The second vision ended.

Maximum continued and found the last trial of blood, he thought.

When he entered the vision. His Sect was being attacked.

Seishi led the disciples against the enemy. Maximum felt alive more than ever. He went and slaughtered thousands of men and women, both human and demon alike.

When the finally happened, Maximum looked down and realized that he took more damage than what he thought.

He landed face down in the ground. Iris came running to his side. Seishi told the disciples to secure any and all prisoners. She went to check on Maximum.

Up in the Sect, Maximum's wife cried. He could tell that something major happened in the battle.

As Maximum was breathing slowly. He saw blackness, he did not know what had happened.

He woke up to find a fourth trace of blood. This was more of a greenish color than a red color.

As Maximum went down. He slowly but surely felt the danger coming from the depths. There he stood behind a trial each one pointing to success or failure.

Maximum decided to go down the failure path. He was not going to be let down by going to the success path.
